I wander.. where is this approach taking us. Approach of a prosperity and money culture in western Europe that makes us think about motorcycles like toys that need to be changed every year or 2. You purchase a new bike for £16K then you sell 2 years later for £10K. Obviously getting another one , probably even more expensive. What happened with having a bike for years and a friend and companion, making 60 or 80k miles. We are shown new bikes, bigger, stronger, more tech. etc etc every year. Does it mean my tiger 900 RP from 2021 is now old and much worse than the bikes from 2024? Sorry, just some nostalgic thinking :)

Mostly waiting to see what Honda will do with the Transalp. If what you said about the TA in this video comes true, then that will be my next bike. My biggest gripe with the current model is the tubed tires. So fingers crossed that Honda actually reads the review comments and addressed some of the biggest complaints. (We can hope, right?)

@tonyjourneyman19444 ай бұрын
@@arnoutvanwijk4916 it's funny with the transalp, the 3 big gripes seem to be cruise control, tubeless tires and on a lesser level, optional quick shifter. Somehow these things were not an issue for me and I care not about them. I thought about it and I think it's because I don't actually ride my bike that much recently, being winter, and so it's all a bit meh. Having said that luckily for me the only thing I'd want potentially is the quick shifter just to make it easier to change when standing up on rough tracks.
@Snoozzzzzze4 ай бұрын
I have one and it would have been useful to have cruise control on a recent European tour but still not a big deal. I still haven’t had a puncture on this bike but had one recently on a tubeless bike so whatever really. I carried spare tubes just in case but only because I contracted some of the paranoia that’s on you tube and other social media. I’ve had four bikes in the last 6 years and only one that is tubeless. I’m hoping to get it tuned at some point to increase torque and get rid of the flat spot at 4500 rpm, otherwise it is a good bike. Oh, I have the quick shifter which is very good but tend to use the clutch most of the time as that suits the adventure riding style.

My next bike will be an electric one, so I have to save up, although the 400SF would make me weak :D

@@RocketMan_Moto I wish there were more than 11, especially since electric motors make the ride super fun. My mother and I split the bill on a z e-1, that our dealer was almost begging us to take off his hands. If you have not given an electric bike a try, I would highly recommend it. Nobody wants them, so a test ride is guaranteed. The ride, atleast in terms of the drivetrain, is as sophisticated as can be. Pickup and decelerating are both smooth on the chain and without any hiccup. Torque is also always an option :D Riding a single with a normal clutch or an inline four with a conventional clutch and no electronic aids, the difference is night and day. But unless Solid-State battery packs become a thing, they won't penetrate the market.

Losing the lovely clocks is a huge mis step, as is making it ergonomically more challenging for 50 and 60 somethings like myself that are struggling with dodgy knees, hips or backs. Scooters or adventure bikes are my goto rides these days though I'd love a retro. I fear that any new Honda or Kawasaki 400/4 retro will also suffer from this malaise. A huge shame, as I'd love to buy such a bike. Whilst I'm on this theme, why can't Triumph offer the ergonomically comfortable T120 with tubeless tyres (and perhaps alloys as an option) and the more powerful SpeedTwin engine? That would sell very well imo.

Bonjour Rocketman. Ride by wire is only really of any use in that it allows for certain electronic features like cruise control. The NX won’t get that.

I'm in Australia so hopefully the new 800MT-X would be a bit cheaper than 11k Euro. I'm looking at getting into ADV riding and been looking at many different options. I could get a 10+ yo second hand 700GS or a Tiger 800 for the price of an ex demo CFMOTO 700MT. Alternatively, wait till next year when I'll have a bit more money and decide between the new 800MT-X vs a Tiger 900. 😊

Depends sometimes on how you buy a new bike. Cash, part ex or PCP. Are you a Cafe’ culture, bar hopper or world adventure rider. Putting a 100,000 miles on one motorcycle is something a lot of people either only dream of or would think the trade in price make it worthless. I am at an old age and people I associate with at rallies, bike meets or butty bars are mostly as old as me. Disposable income is becoming a tax liability.

The BMW RT is looking more-n-more sci-fi/space age ... could be cool. Did I miss a photo of a new RS? You mention it but I missed the visual. What's Triumph thinking ... the new Speed Twin misses the mark, IMO, and 17,000 Euros (which something like $19K US)?? There isn't enough bike/tech there to justify such a high price ... are they think that riders' nostalgia will drive that much interest? All I can say is I'm glad the previous version is around. Speaking Thruxtons ... I visited a local dealer yesterday - two of the three Thruxtons were sold, so there is some interest, just not enough I guess. I'm a fan (if I had the $$ I'd be an owner.)
