Love the section that wedges you in between those big rocks. My new fave thing to do when watching your vids, is to pause at the beginning for the trail name, and look it up on trail forks, then resume the vid while watching where you are on the map to see how it corresponds. Its amazing how well some if these trails are charted out. It flows so naturally with the environment its like the trail was already there before anyone made it. Just needed to be uncovered.

Haha that's awesome, I do the exact same thing! Also cool is turning on the slope angle overlay to really understand why things ended up where they did. 🤓

Trails like these are really interesting for me because I live in scotland where there are very few of these kinds of tight, slow, tech trails. you do get some tight, techy ones but 9 times out of 10 you can go pretty fast on them, Top Cheif at the Nevis Range is a good example, I am soon getting a 29er enduro bike, coming from a 27.5 trail bike so I am very interested to see how it will perform here in the UK.

Top Cheif eh, noted, thanks! And that sounds like fun times ahead.🤘

Great ride and vid as always Dale! Is the “staircase” on 5th the “no shame” section from a couple of years ago? If so, have you completed that section yet, or still a no go? If (and only if) you are comfortable with that section now, I think it would make for an interesting before and after video topic some day. I’m surprised the big bike made it through that chicane section at 11:35 on Trunk Monkey without apparent concern from you. But what do I know? Neither of these trails are on my hit list now or in the long foreseeable future lol!
@DaleStone2 жыл бұрын
Yep, that's the staircase, I forget the official name (might be "steps of doom"). Haven't ridden it yet since I'm not sure if I could stop after the first move on the gravel. At this rate it'll happen some day when I'm able to visualize it! Agreed, felt like it was going to fall off both sides of that bridge at once, probably almost did! 😆
@jasonwolfe99342 жыл бұрын
Yup the steps of doom. And the og line goes hard right down two steps to a slight left hand so you don’t go straight into a rock. Was way easier 20years ago because it had more dirt. OG steps are a seriously hard move for sure.
@DaleStone2 жыл бұрын
Sharp left before the extremely sharp rock, got it. Definitely can imagine it has only gotten harder with each passing year!

So glad I put the “and only if” in my previous comment. I just saw Remy’s near miss. Push, yes. But respect your limits and your inner voice. I know you know this, but, well, yeah… that could have gone so wrong.

Sir, please be very careful with sleep deprivation. I've got way too many injuries from small moments of deconcentration most likely due to lack of sleep (but in parkour), and we're always the smartest after an otherwise avoidable fall. There's an other day to ride hard trails.
@DaleStone2 жыл бұрын
Definitely not worth pushing your limits when you are in need of sleep. I felt pretty comfortable in this video but silly mistakes can definitely be costly!

I watched this section about 5 times trying to figure out how you didn't get your front wheel stopped out by the rock. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oWWWZX2kj9V4ndE. I don't think that was the ideal line to avoid an OTB experience!
@DaleStone Жыл бұрын
This trail is a lot steeper than it shows on cameras, it's likely not even a wheel catch in real life haha. Unweight the front wheel and let it roll!
