Many people see the reality of the situation. Nor Trump nor Kamala nor any of the parties will fix any of the issues we are currently facing. We are facing a systemic issue and no political force has the will to fix this. The reality is that the FED will keep printing money, the government will keep incrementing the deficit, and inequality will keep widening until people get tired of this and we go through a painful reform.

@TorukMaktoDracarys, although I very much agree that a Trump presidency will point us in the right direction, OP is right. No side will be able to fix the damage "The establishment" has created in the country for the last 50 years. The FED will continue to print money & our government will continue to over spend. The government will continue to make the housing market worse in the name of fixing it. No politician has the ability to stop this without putting us in a very deep recession & at the same time ruin their political career in the process. Which is why we will continue down this path up until the point our government can no longer print money & go into debt.

The fact that the government is involved in something that should be private enterprise is the problem. Keep in mind that the government does not produce income. They take ours and misuse it. If affordability is a problem, then handing out checks for 25K will NOT make houses more affordable. That is the core issue. The economic is OVER-stimulated. The best way to get home prices affordable is to simply cut regulations for building a home. The reason we make people put down a down payment is to make sure they have skin in the game. If you cant save up money for a down payment, then you CANT afford the home. Nuf said.

This did not mention the changes/supposed improvements to the building code CONSTANATLY addig costs. It made it almost impossible for a smaller buider to buy land and build. You had to sink bug money into land. Pay for plans to be drawn, and then WAIT while the bureaucrats took forever to issue a permit. By the time you could obtain a permit the economy could have had a downturn, interests raise rise etc. ONLY the big money players could afford to buy land and wait it out.

Instead of handouts for buying a house, which let's face it, 25k does nothing for affording a home that's already 300k overpriced. The government needs to inact laws prohibiting investors from buying single family homes until they have been on the market at least 6 months to a year. I don't know a single person buying a home right now. The supply shortage is being caused by investors buying up all the properties, which in turn is causing the price hikes due to so-called shortages. The government appears to be complicit in this scheme, as it increases property tax revenues.
