Many people see the reality of the situation. Nor Trump nor Kamala nor any of the parties will fix any of the issues we are currently facing. We are facing a systemic issue and no political force has the will to fix this. The reality is that the FED will keep printing money, the government will keep incrementing the deficit, and inequality will keep widening until people get tired of this and we go through a painful reform.

@TorukMaktoDracarys, although I very much agree that a Trump presidency will point us in the right direction, OP is right. No side will be able to fix the damage "The establishment" has created in the country for the last 50 years. The FED will continue to print money & our government will continue to over spend. The government will continue to make the housing market worse in the name of fixing it. No politician has the ability to stop this without putting us in a very deep recession & at the same time ruin their political career in the process. Which is why we will continue down this path up until the point our government can no longer print money & go into debt.

The fact that the government is involved in something that should be private enterprise is the problem. Keep in mind that the government does not produce income. They take ours and misuse it. Thomas Sowell, Milton Friedman and Walter Williams have studied and written extensively about this subject. "Government has no resources of its own…government spending is no less than the confiscation of one person’s property to give it to another to whom it does not belong." W. E. Williams

I disagree on the not taxing tips. If 80% of your income is tips, then you should be taxed at the same rate as everyone else otherwise they are only having to pay tax on 20% of there income. it’s not fair for the people who don’t get tips and have to pay tax on 100% of their income. In reality, I don’t think anyone should be paying any income tax at all.

If affordability is a problem, then handing out checks for 25K will NOT make houses more affordable. That is the core issue. The economic is OVER-stimulated. The best way to get home prices affordable is to simply cut regulations for building a home. The reason we make people put down a down payment is to make sure they have skin in the game. If you cant save up money for a down payment, then you CANT afford the home. Nuf said.

I was a home builder starting at age 24. Bureaucracy added MAJOR costs to housing. The TIME, COST to obtain a permit went up steadily at a 30+ degree angle. This did not mention the changes/supposed improvements to the building code CONSTANATLY addig costs. It made it almost impossible for a smaller buider to buy land and build. You had to sink bug money into land. Pay for plans to be drawn, and then WAIT while the bureaucrats took forever to issue a permit. By the time you could obtain a permit the economy could have had a downturn, interests raise rise etc. ONLY the big money players could afford to buy land and wait it out.

Instead of handouts for buying a house, which let's face it, 25k does nothing for affording a home that's already 300k overpriced. The government needs to inact laws prohibiting investors from buying single family homes until they have been on the market at least 6 months to a year. I don't know a single person buying a home right now. The supply shortage is being caused by investors buying up all the properties, which in turn is causing the price hikes due to so-called shortages. The government appears to be complicit in this scheme, as it increases property tax revenues.

Costs are going up for all, the best solution is to stop creating more money, that would basically create a price freeze, rather than creating more money to give to select people, while all others get inflation.

OK, Give first time home buyers a hand up with the $25,000. Now what? Can they sustain payments with insurance and property taxes ? What about all those insurance companies that have “fled” certain states and will not insure homes? (Like in California and Florida to name a couple). There is home maintenance as well. Is the first time home buyer “prepared” financially to maintain the home they are getting subsidized to buy…? It all sounds like a good idea and well intentioned, but there’s a lot more that a homeowner needs to put money into besides a mortgage.

The money to buy a house is a big problem. They will get into houses they can’t afford. I’ll bet there will be a 90 percent foreclosure rate down the line.

Housing prices likely won’t drop significantly until supply increases. The U.S. is short millions of housing units and isn’t building fast enough. Demand remains high, and even a small dip in prices attracts many buyers. I’m looking to buy affordable houses in 2024 and maybe invest in stocks. When’s the best time to invest in stocks? Some say it’s profitable, but others warn it’s risky. Any advice?

I've been in touch with a financial advisor ever since I started my business. Knowing today's culture The challenge is knowing when to purchase or sell when investing in trending stocks, which is pretty simple. On my portfolio, which has grown over $900k in a little over a year, my adviser chooses entry and exit orders.

No Tax on Tips sounds like a good idea, except how is it fair that a guy who works at mcdonalds for peanuts and gets no tips is taxed more a bartender who is making $90k a year off tips and is now paying essentially nothing in taxes. Tips are just an alternative form of income, tax income. If that tax is too high then LOWER ALL TAXES! No favoritism.

Companies don't pay tax. Shareholder pay tax. Most of that gets passed onto their customers.

If the government wants to help out lower income, they could give specific tax breaks, instead of outright gifts. A tax break implies you went about the effort to earn it but now the government was going to restrain itself against taking it. Tax breaks incentives work and production. Capitalism works when you work and you get to keep what you earn. Everybody benefits from a productive work force.

Just thinking out loud there: maybe the government can be the actual property builder to provide more supply? I am sure everyone see tons of problems with that 😅

Where are you getting the information about taxes going up for anyone making 47K or more? The only thing I can find is that she has said she will not raise taxes on anyone making less than 400k annually. None of her policy proposals so far would affect anyone under that as far as I can tell.. with lots of increased tax credits that actually help lower incomes and new businesses. Would be great if you could share your source.

So i thought Ken was smart, but I was wrong. You see if you get a subsidy of 25k, the house value will go up exactly that much or more erasing the 25k credit. Ken, what school did you go to?
