Make a phone app, scan the VIN, photo the tag, take pictures of the vehicle from all around, submit. Receive $20 tax credit. If it's going to cost shops to comply, it should cost gov't too.

Thats what im saying. It should be as simple as their info, a brief description, and some pictures of the damage. That would barely burden the repair shops and give law enforcement a database to refer to.

Seems like good intentions but unrealistic.

What about cars sold/bought on auctions, like Copart and IAA? Where from buyer can know about incident if he need any body work on acquired car? From other side anyone can sold there a car after incident, without any consequences

I would imagine this would be an automatic exception to the rule (which I'm not a fan of) due to the fact that cars from those sources would already have salvage/total or other title brands on them or would have paperwork from the source and information about the existing damage.

@@TheUncleSatan Not necessary other title than clean. You can search Copart for clean title and found cars with wide type of damages.

Of course they always give you paperwork when you go the auction 🙄

That doesn't make a lick of sense
