FYI: The price for our Flex Armor roof includes the installation of 3 brand-new Maxxair roof vent fans and removing and replacing our solar panels. If you aren't replacing as many components (like fans) your total cost will be less. The RV/Camper industry as a collective should be absolutely ashamed of the quality of their product across the board. The entire industry is nothing but cosmetically pleasing scabbed together P.O.S. that are designed to fail ..... It's really sad. How could a product even reach market that must be replaced every single year at a cost of $1000.... That simply means your product is garbage. Good on this company, for caring about quality and longevity........thanks for sharing

I recently had a bit of a oops moment and caused some damage to my roof. After doing some research and getting quotes I decided rather than relying on a patch job or replacing with the same materials from the factory - It was worth the travel time and cost to head down to Prescott and see the guys at AZ RV Roof. Awesome shop, folks and product. Just got home from with the trailer and the new roof. Highly recommend the product!

I used Flex Armor in Denton, Tx when my then two year old Sunset Trail Reserve roof delaminated. Four years later I had my 15 year old deer lease trailer roofed by Flex Armor. Seems great, But it wouldn't be for any trailer or rv. The weight alone is a major factor. then there is the skylight. The plastic of the skylight will dry out and crack, then what? from the looks of how this armor has covered the parameter of the skylight. if it had to be replaced, the time to cut it out would probably cost as much as an entire standard TPO or EPDM in materials. I see it now. cost of skylight 100, cost to replace it 1500.00. I'll also add that I noticed the flex armor covers the tops ( last couple inches ) of the vertical rails. While the flex armor will stop any water from intruding the roof, what about the vertical corners of the rear and front trim moldings. those still need maintenance. if for some reason water got past the molding, you'll have to remove and reseal. So you will need to cut the armor flex material from around the trim molding in order to remove it? So I'd guess that would void there warranty.

It's really shocking what the RV makers get away with. If you put a rubber roof on your new screen porch, it would come with up to a 40 year warranty. If it failed any time before that, you'd call the contractor out to fix it. And if he tried to dodge responsibility by saying you didn't get up on the roof each year to reseal it, you'd rightly threaten legal action. If that roof failed in the first 5 years and rotted out a major portion of the roof structure as well, you'd file a complaint with the state against his contractor's license and drag him into court. The contractor would either write you a big check, or skip town in the middle of the night, because any court would rule in your favor. Yet somehow when it comes to RVs, all that is right out the window. We _expect_ the roof to fail in a very short time. We get up on the roof faithfully each year in an attempt to compensate for the dreadful design and material choices of the manufacturer, and we take full responsibility when the inevitable failures occur. A note to the RV makers: I'm not an idiot, and I'm not alone. You're putting yourselves out of business. People know a con when they see one. Enjoy this time you're in where there are still a few suckers left willing to get robbed for your crap product. It won't last much longer.

We enjoy the roof material. Only issue is any changes void warranty. Add solar, replace on air antenna, or mushroom roof vents requires an appointment & several hours labor. And our original installer NO longer is contracted or "franchisee"! But we have great comfort knowing most seams are sealed. You still need to inspect ac gaskets to ensure leaves, stems, etc, do not squeeze between roof & gasket. Can still leak there.
@EatSeeRV
@EatSeeRV 2 жыл бұрын
Yes very good points. That's why it's a good idea to get all of that done when you replace your roof. Our installer here in Prescott uses a cool bolting system and rail system so you can add components to your RV in the future without needing to rebook and redo the roof in those areas!

We have the RV one made with probability so we can use wherever we go. However we cannot and do not use it when in motion (that's actually grounds for Starlink to end the contract). They do have a mountable one that is made to be up on the roof permanently and can be used in motion but it's $2,500.

I wouldn't have mounted the Starlink antenna on the roof. Too many campsites have trees close by that will ruin the signal. At least with it not mounted you can move the antenna around to get a good signal. I have Starlink at my house and it's the best service ever, but it can be finicky with nearby obstructions.

@EatSeeRV
@EatSeeRV Жыл бұрын
The $7,300 was the intial quote before they finished work. Some things got taken off the quote because it wasn't needed. They measure what they spray and it was less than what they thought at first! So $6,500 was the end #

If u ask me, it sure does seem like the roofs are purposely made the way they are to make sure the come-back is there. Obviously the roofs are a huge problem, so why not make it bomb proof with superior materials?

How much does Flexarmor weigh per square foot? Is this something you should take into consideration if your RV has a low payload capacity?
@EatSeeRV
@EatSeeRV 2 жыл бұрын
Yes I would consider it! We didn't have to worry about it with the new RV but there's a good chance you're already overweight if you have low weight capacity. Some of the Mercedes chassis only give you 600-900 lbs of cargo carrying capacity. With 2 people and your things your almost guaranteed to be over. I'd weigh yourself first and find out how much it'd be adding based on your RV size.

Depends on how you look at it. A lot cheaper than having to buy a new RV because yours gets wood root in the roof. I do get it's not for everyone. But it's just as worth while of an investment for weekend warriors too.

Really nice job and wise decision $6,500.00 for the protection and integrity of an RV roof is nothing when you've invested $30-100++K for your rig! I had a 25'TT years ago and it sustained some major water damage. I sold it and vowed I would NEVER own another rv ever again. I solved the problem by buying a cargo trailer and converted it into a camper and now NO MORE ROT! I sealed the all aluminum one piece roof with Krazy Seal that comes with a 50 year warranty against leaking I'll be dead by the time that 50 years comes around!! 😂😂😉😉
