What a watch! Rock solid ceramic bracelet, diving chrono, high horology movement... Basically an AP Offshore Chrono Diver, but nicer! 43mm is pretty bang-on for diving chronos - you know, reading them n'all! The dials on these are immense.

Awesome video! This reminds me of when I added my Blancpain Villeret Tourbillon Carrousel to my collection back in 2014. It was a challenge purchasing from an AD then. Now, I'm going to do some research to find out its current worth. As a collector, I see my watches as investments, and I'm curious to see how much this one has appreciated.

Great that will fetch you some cash. I use to own that watch when i used to be a collector, but I liquidated my collection to venture into real estate. In January, I acquired homes in Malibu for $45million, and the returns on investment far exceed what I earned as a collector.

I have a financial advisor (trader) she grows my liquid assets and I reinvest the weekly payouts back into real estate and long-term ETFs like VOO and SCHD. I have also started acquiring some tech ETFs, including IITU and IUCM.

I tried this on yesterday…. I tried to capture the dial colour and like this video it’s not possible to capture it’s true colour…. In real life it appears darker and it really is beautiful!!!

Stunning, love the colour, the circular indices, the red on the second hand, so credit to them its gorgeous. Date window is good, its there but unobtrusive. My only reservation is the material, ceramic, just how tough is it??. Great video Harrison, cheers.

Kudos to blancpain. Dont get me wrong the whole oldest manufacturer think is marketing gimmick as it is a revived brand. In any case, i thought I was done with buying watches but I am seriously considering that new blue bathyscaphe (not chrono) absoulte stunner !!

I think we lose focus of the facts here. Everyone cries murder over a 43 mm with an unconventional date window. The point at which the focus is lost is when we fail to realise that the Blancpain ff is and always has been built to a quality that is far superior to any Rolex. On par with The Royal Oak or above and touching on Vacheron territory in the horology world. Then we scream murder on the price when the other brands mentioned sell on the grey market for double and triple the price of the BP or even more. I love it when hype hypnotised customers pay shit loads for the trends and leave quality hotolgy to those that understand that little more about watches. This is a beautiful.piece so lets just accept it and pull our heads out of our asses.

Date window looks wrong, hands look like boards and it’s too big. Yema can make an open case back 1cm thick and 39mm diameter 300m WR. The Tudor Pelagos has the date hidden in the marker. This thing just lacks innovation. Maybe for someone rich enough but young enough not to know or notice.

But it wasn’t. Blancpain didn’t exist in 1953, they were called Rayville and the Fifty Fathoms was launched in 1955.

@@impexRQ the first Fifty Fathoms prototypes were tested by French RN divers in mid-‘54 and Rayville SA tried to patent some of their design in August ‘54. It was released for public sale in ‘55. The reason Rolex don’t claim the Sub as the “first” is that (snorkel) divers were using Waterproof Oyster models, Omegas, Longines, and other bezelled watches as early as the thirties.

Beautiful but it’s why I love my blue Glass Box Carrera. It’s imho at least as gorgeous as the 50 Fathoms but…..Carrera is 39 mm, date at the 6:00 and a little chunky at 14 mm but it’s a tri compax with a very nice chamfer on the bottom with a sapphire display as nice as the dial. This watch is just too big. I love the look but nooo……too much for my 16.5 cm wrist. Really good vid Dude! Thanks

That date window is the wrong color... needs to be darker to match. Looks like an after thought. And the should have made the bezel blue and not black. I own both the black and green. But this one, probably not... unless they put out another with changes I mentioned. I'm actually surprised they put this one out.

43 maybe but too thick. I sold my Tudor Pelagos 42 because it was too thick. I bought a submariner 41 and seamaster 42 and Iam happy with those sizes. But yes this Blanchpain looks nice.

Too blocky, industrial looking. I much prefer the previous generation Flyback Chronograph, the one with the sapphire bezel, though a bit large at 45mm.

That's a different part of the same family. Both have the same movement but the Bathyscaphe is more in line with the original design.

Not everything needs to be a diver and no Chrono ever needs to go to 300 meters. To me this demonstrates how the brand is out of touch. It looks beautiful and if it was 42mm or less and 13.5 or less… it would be an amazing piece and still probably do 100/200 meters just fine. Every time I see a watch from them I like I check the dimensions and immediately forget about the watch. They make them too big and they are too diver focused or maybe not diver focused enough. They don’t need to make a Chrono. This is a great watch for guys 6’3” and are build like a house. But for us average guys, it just doesn’t make sense.

Personally I feel like date window placement and background color are very critical, because I feel like wrong placement makes whole watch look a lot cheaper than it is. And this is very good example, it's looks like it would cost something similar than Seiko SPB381. That would look absolutely amazing without date. Now that date window and that wrong color background ruins whole watch. Personally I love Daytona because it's just pure Chrono.
