NEW! Bodyguard 2.0- Better Protection Than The Secret Service?

I own an LCP Max and as of yesterday a Bodyguard 2.0. I want to make it clear to people since there aren't many comparison videos yet. There is no competition. The Bodyguard 2.0 is a better gun in just about every way. The Bodyguard 2.0 has a much lower bore axis and allows you to really choke up on the side. The two guns are the same height but I can almost fit three full fingers on the grip of the Bodyguard 2.0 and my pinky hangs off of the LCP Max. The trigger on the Bodyguard is better, you hit a nice solid wall and then a crisp break, the LCP isn't bad but is a little spongier. Overall, recoil is much less noticeable for the Bodyguard and it more pushes into your hand than flips up like the LCP, making for much faster follow up shots. You can find both for about the same price. The Bodyguard 2.0 is also tighter fitting if that matters to you. The LCP sounds like a maraca when you shake it but the Bodyguard has almost no play. Also, the Bodyguard is just a much prettier gun (not a functional thing of course, but the LCP Max just looks a bit goofy).

My reason is small to stick with the LCP Max. I love the way the back of the LCP max is curved so that it NEVER snags in any of my pockets. I pull it out from my jeans, bag, jackets, coats, etc., and do not have to worry it getting snagged. I am interested in someone doing a test to see how the flatter shape of the Bodyguard will do in multiple pockets.

Trained my Ruger LCP max 380 for the S&W 2.0 380 . I am very pleased in every way with the S&W , absolutely a home run with this firearm in every way ! My 2 cents

Amazing!!! Love it! Weight is not an issue because it has less recoil then LCP...any LCP! Low bore helps as well as the much better return spring.

@@MGMan37 have a p365-380. Most unreliable 380 I have ever owned. My p365 in 9 is awesome, but the .380 refuses to fire almost any ammo I put in it. It’s horrible. Too bad, I love the overall design. Glad you got one that works.

Can’t wait to get my hands on one. I was waiting for the shield plus in .380 but this is even better. My EDC is the P365 in .380, but I get slide bite from time to time. Really love the beaver tail on this new bodyguard. They sure sold out quick. Guess I’ll be checking online everyday until I find one. Or if any of you in the DFW area happen across one and don’t like it, let’s make a deal!

Excellent review, considering buying the 2.0. One thing I have not seen in any review is an explanation of the manual safety function and the striker. Is the striker fully cocked like my P365 or is it not fully cocked like a Glock? How does the safety function internally? Does it block the seer, probably? Does it lock or block the trigger bar from moving? Since the trigger pull is somewhat light for a carry gun pointed at my essentials, I much prefer the manual safety and like to understand how it works.

Bought one today! Absolutely love the gun. Bore axis is better than my Glock 42. The only complaint I have is I bought one with a thumb safety, and it’s a little tough to move . I’ll probably carry it in a pocket holster with the safety off

You make racking the slide look easy. I'm pissed. I went to buy this bodyguard and had difficulty racking the slide, too hard of a spring for me. Im 75 , must have weak grip.

I wanted to get a pocket .380 but the original LCP turned me off because it was very uncomfortable to shoot, like it genuinely hurt the web between my forefinger and thumb. After one mag, I put it down and never shot it again. I was told the original Bodyguard was very similar in that it was very snappy and not comfortable either. All I need to know is how comfortable is it to shoot the new Bodyguard? Especially compared to the original LCP. For reference, I daily carry a P365 9mm and can shoot it just fine with no discomfort.

I like it. Anything super slim, is always welcomed. The more the merrier. 380 is just fine, too. Kahr 380 is still the epitome of super slim, small pocket cc. Not so thrilled on this BG 2.0: The grip a bit long for wasy conceal. That front serrations is a bit long in the horizontal direction.

What no one seems to mention is the 1950s cap-gun-like, sickening TWANG of the Ruger which loudly announces "no quality here" with every dry fire. No kidding, cap guns of the 50s and 60s made the exact same noise.

I've had no problem with the original bodyguard. I want to love the new one but am concerned with the light trigger. I've seen it measured under 4 pounds. Personally, I think a small self defense pistol should have a fairly heavy trigger. If I ever need to pull my gun, the adrenaline will be pumping and I don't want an accidental discharge because the trigger is too light. With the the OG bodyguard, pulling the trigger needs to be completely intentional and I like that. I'm still going to try the 2.0 at the range and see how it feels.

I’m the opposite. I don’t consider 4 pounds of light trigger. May carry 2011s (nighthawk in Wilson,) are both at about 3 pounds and my range guns are sub 2 pounds.

I thought of getting body guard 2.0.. maybe down road when prices drop. But my kahr cm9 is same size, mag guts kit with 8 rd capacity in 9mm. Cost $150 less than the bodyguard 2.0 and has thousands rounds through it. So why bothering for me to get a more expensive gun in a weaker caliber.

Anyone else getting slide bite from this gun? Mine is pretty bad. The ergo of the gun makes me hold it up high and with the low bore axis, I'm getting bad slide bites. Not enjoyable to shoot. My hands are not crazy big either.

I agree with the weight of the pistols. Not that the bodygaurd 2.0 won't shoot great for the majorly of us. For those who desire less recoil they may be disappointed. The G42 has an almost perfect recoil impulse. I wish they would build a G42x with a full three finger grip. A little extra weight and less felt recoil is the ticket for the intended market. Arthritic, neck problems, etc still wanting more than 22lr and compact.

probably a dumb question but I am very new to guns and was wondering what the difference between the normal version of this gun and the compliant version? Is it any actual difference with the gun or is the only difference the fact that the complaint one only comes with the 10 round mag? Im trying to see the difference and it only seems like its the fact that it comes with a 10 round rather than both a 10 and 12. if thats the case they are the same. would carrying it with the 10 round instead of 12 then make it compliant? I also would love to be explained how compliance laws work, I live in IL,
