In chapter 6, at Riverside Station, there's a weird room where you fight some rather meek by then Goombas. There's tons of weird leftover data in that room some of which hints you were originally supposed to re-fight Doopliss, Marilyn, and Beldam there. The did meddle a lot with Mario throughout that chapter. It may have been cut because fighting them yet again in the Palace of Shadow may have been too much. There was apparently going to be some more implication that the Smorgs were conjured by Beldam as well. It's could be that this fight has been re-instated in the remake.

The Goombas in Riverside Station should be replaced with Shy Guys. I don't know why it wasn't like that in the original but it's ridiculous that Shy Guys weren't an enemy when they easily could have been placed in that location.

Will you actually want that? If I remember well, when talking to Luigi’s partners, it is implied they don’t like him and that the only reason they tag along with him is because he owns them something or because they want to get back at him. It is also implied that in his campaign, he’s incompetent and succeeds his tasks just because he’s clumsy or messes up greatly. Do you really want to see that campaign knowing that Luigi is kind of a incompetent buffoon in it? I don’t mind that but will other fans want that?

Yes I’d heavily recommend picking up the remake. I don’t have full confidence that Nintendo will produce another original Paper Mario game that is on par with the first three ever again, but there is enough content in this game to keep you satisfied as a new fan IMO

I love how for the Mario RPG remakes, the devs merge both the Japanese scripts with the translated ones, an example is in Super Mario RPG where in the original Japanese version Cluex would comment on how Mario and co are 3D while he is 2D, in the remake this was included. And when you rematch him, he is 3D.

I wonder if the boss refights will happen at the Glitz Pit. It’s been a minute since I played that game, but I wonder if instead of competing against the same enemies in order to become the champion a second time, it’s actually a boss rush mode where you battle the same bosses consecutively. That would be a nice upgrade to the original content.

Honestly i feel like the easiest way to implement refighting bosses would just be to add an option to the tattle log(missable entries show up in Frankly's trash, so no issue there) and treating it purely as an imagined, non-canon thing.

I HATED the backtracking in the original game. That infamous section between Twilight Town and Creepy Steeple always frustrates me when I think about it. I’m glad to hear that they might fix that up with the remake. 👍

Ultimately a dream feature of mine would simply be the ability to refight battles. Simply add an option in the tattle log to fight the enemy (or group of enemies in the case of certain entries). Perfect way to test out certain badge setups too. Scripted fights probably not included.

My guess for new bosses would be Prince Mush, and maybe some boss rematches. Perhaps you stumble into Doopliss in the post game, who transforms into previous bosses

That's my main grudge with the game, all the unnecessary dialogue changes they made. Vivian was the only necessary change but everything else, especially the sewer scene, was unnecessary. I also thought to was funny having everyone think Hooktail was a man until chapter 8, so there was no need to change that either.

A stronger Bowser battle would be great. I never played this game, but I always thought he needed to have a slightly more meaningful presence (based on what I had seen).

I think the second battle against Bowser was already pretty tough. Plus it makes sense for him not to be as much of a threat to Mario in TTYD as he was in PM64, since he's not the main villain. He's basically the Jr. Troopa of TTYD.

@@mattsodano6264 I enjoy his role in this game, mainly because the villains are so good (similar to Fawful from the Mario & Luigi games). Plus, the final dungeon in Paper Mario 64 had already done everything right with Bowser's Castle. I actually didn't know TTYD had 2 Bowser battles instead of just one toward the end of the game, so that's good to hear. Maybe I'm wrong and he doesn't need an extra battle after all, but I definitely would love to see an even tougher rematch.

Yes me or no one else has been watched a 3 Review videos about of Paper Mario The Thousand-Year Door HD Remake and everyone has gave a 9/10 points what's very much just for a remake, but it is a remake of the Best Paper Mario and Nintendo Gamecube game of All Time what I haven't never played because sadly I've never had the Nintendo Gamecube, but gladly it's coming to the Nintendo Switch, now I can buy my second Paper Mario game for Switch after my favourite Paper Mario game Origami King. This game looks so good, i'm interested the Most of Characters like Goombrella, Vivian and Madame Flurrie the Purple Beauty. Rewards missions were great but one at a time was a weakness but no one really mentioned it in conversation so never got addressed. I am excited for new Boss fights. I wonder where, Rawk Hawk had an unedited rematch and pit of 100 trials final boss but that is it. There wasnt much postgame in the original. Pit of 100 was recommended postgame

Battles are more rewarding in TTYD cause you gain exp and level ups. And gain permanent attack. No consumable cards or breakable weapons.

Never had an issue with back tracking myself. the island was more so annoying after the yoshi part. Annoying to see they didn't fix the mission system. Bug fable let's you get every mission at once and you can do them at anytime New bosses sweet. But wish they also had a second pit after beating the first with some more difficult enemy pairs

Yeah I didn't know people hated backtracking. I personally like it because it adds a metroidvania feel to the game. The satisfaction of getting a new ability and remembering where you can use it to get a new badge or something is very rewarding.

Two words: Chapter 4 You arrive at Twilight Town Go to Creepy Steeple Go back to Twilight Town after Doopliss Go back to Creepy Steeple to get the letter Go mostly back to Twilight Town to confront Doopliss Return to Creepy Steeple _again_ to fight the actual boss. The second visit to Creepy Steeple does have new rooms and a new partner but the third has no such excuse

So TTYD was a huge childhood love for me growing up, and I never knew Vivian was trans in the Japanese version. The fact as a trans woman, Nintendo brought back that lost detail for Vivian, which makes me beyond emotional. I have more representation in a Mario game, and that's a massive W!
