Most of my family live there, so this funfair is a huge part of my childhood. It makes me want to cry every time I see the shark coaster, the worm with the apple was THE BEST 🥺🥺🥺

Welcome to God`s Peninsular Guys. Hope you had a great day. That art deco building you mentioned used to be called The Palace and was in fact an indoor fairground back in the day. There was also an outdoor fairground further up the seafront around the New Brighton Tower but unfortunately that closed down in 1969 after the Tower Building was engulfed by a fire. There was even a roller coaster on site which went out into the nearby Peel Park as well as a Ferris Wheel amongst other rides. At one time there was a pier at the resort which again closed in the early 70s. This doubled up as the landing stage for the Mersey Ferry which used to bring people from Liverpool to the resort as well as the train. That really did signal the end of New Brighton as a major resort in the area sadly.

Some of the miniature/small scale parks are real gems! They may not have record breaking rides but do sometimes provide an atmosphere that is hard to replicate in a larger scale, more commercialised park Keep up the great content!

Great to see you at my local park on the wirral👍🎠🎡, it's a really nice little park, more for the families now. The Waltzer they had has been relocated to Central Pier Blackpool to replace theirs this year. The classic Twister was formerly Herbert Silcocks and used to operate at Southport Pleasureland back in the 80's and 90's.

Used to be an indoor fairground as well as outside, there used to be a big ghost train inside at the back that was my first ever ghost train I went on as a child with my Dad and have been obsessed with them ever since and I am 40 soon :) my Grand parent's lived in Birkenhead so often visited in the holidays, new brighton was always a real treat

This looks like it’s a good family fun fair, very small but looks enjoyable. My grandparents live near Liverpool and I’ve been to Southport and that fun fair place (I’ve forgotten the name but it has a rollercoaster with a loop and it was painted yellow when I was there last) and it was very fun. Also, you did a cameo aimed at me and my family!! Thank you for the advice, I’ll do what you told me, I’m excited for tomorrow’s video!

Hi Shawn and Charlotte! Great little compact park! Colourful and credit worthy! I visited there many years ago ferrying across on the Royal Iris! It was a very windy day, I remember and I lost my candy floss to it on the pier!! Lol! Thanks Guys great video . Brought back happy memories!

Practically 15 mins from where we live. You pair could have popped in for a brew and a hot dog with no sauce. We both use to go New Brighton as kids. Was great back then. A lot more to it.... Council was supposed to be pumping money into it a while ago but ended up doing bars and restaurants. Shame really as it was great years ago. Keep up the good work you guys....

Seen as though you are going to all these little funfairs, you should try luna Park in scarborough its very small but has some decent thrill rides and nearby there is also a ferris wheel and a victorian log flume

Some news about the Efteling They have the permit to expand. The plan is to start building in 2022. New launched family coaster with circus theme in a huge tent.

that building use to have a indoor funfair until in the late 80`s it was gutted after a fire and it was brill I always went but mostly on the indoor go carts and the old pier and if yo go inside the fort it has a lot of interesting items from ww2 including a engine of a spitfire and a old air raid shelter that when you sit in side you hear the bombs and sirens it was brillient

The shark coaster used to be a caterpillar ride, the coaster has been there since I can remember, there also used to be a Miami Trip and the Waltzers which were the best but I don’t know what happened to them 😂

I visited this town back in winter 2018 and the fair wasn’t open but the indoor section was surprisingly good and suitable for teens and adults. Will be coming back to snag these two creds. By the way, are you going to visit soulthport pleasureland? Apparently the looping star is running again

That arcade is like the walton pier is really old In yarmouth they are bringing back an old arcade barrons Def look at old movies of new brighton.it should have kept the tower ballroom The lido was amazing

Just over a hundred years ago New Brighton had a tower like Blackpool and it was actually slightly higher than Blackpool Tower. Sadly after the First world war it fell into disrepair and got demolished although it had a building underneath that stayed open till the 1960s!

That art deco building is due for demolition unfortunately, I know its past its sell by date and but still a shame, the funfair, arcade and other businesses are all moving to a new location somwhere on the prom.

I was there the same time. I would have loved to meet you both, I must have watched hundreds of your videos and always make me smile but sometimes a little jealous. I live in the Wirral and been going to New Brighton since I was small kid and remember the original Fairground including a small zoo and ballroom tower, Sadly what remains of that era will soon come to an end, The reason the Art Deco building is looking so shabby is that it is going to be demolished to be replaced with a new hotel with shops or possibly modern apartments, the small fair will be relocated.

I live in New Brighton and grew up with this little funfair. Unfortunately it won't be there for much longer. The land and the art deco building is being sold and it's going to be knocked down. I think they plan to build into a hotel and a more modern arcade.

This is about ten minutes from our house and it’s a nice little fair for the kids. It’s a shame about the Art Deco building as it’s going to be demolished in the future. Explains why it needs a bit of TLC but a shame that it will be lost!
