I lived there from 2000 until about 2005 and then I returned to adjoining Highland Park in 2008/09. Loved the area and it was very formative for me, having spent my happy 20s there. Went to graduate school at Rutgers and continued working in NJ. I remember several landmarks like New Brunswick train station, Dunkin Donuts, George St, Harvest Moon brewery, Corner Tavern, RWJ hospital, Rutgers bookstore, Campus libraries like Alexander Library and many more... Would love to visit sometime. Thanks for uploading this video.

Most of my family was born at St Peters in New Brunswick- both grandparents lived there as did my cousins aunts and uncles/ all of my childhood holidays were spent in NB and I only have great memories. I remember walking into the downtown area from Townsend street- sitting down at what I think was JC Pennys? They had a luncheonette bar complete with a soda jerk. Grilled cheese and Pepsi - excellent. Always with my Mom and brothers. It was in the 60s! I then grew up and worked in that Hyatt- danced at the Melody and Roxie - 80s/ It looks quite different now but the memories are still as lovely. Thank you for posting this!

I feel the best approach is from NJ State Route 18 (Memorial Parkway). You get a beautiful sweeping view of the city and of the Raritan River. Considering what it was like from the late 60s to the 90s, it is amazing how beautiful it looks from the highway now. : )

I think this would be better if you slowed down a bit. I couldn't keep my bearings and I lived or went to college there for close to 20 years, until the early '80's. And why aren't these narrated, at least to say what street someone is turning onto. This isn't a criticism of just this video but of most of the drive around videos that I have seen.
@Nobrun1 Жыл бұрын
It's not that he's driving fast. This just isn't the 1980's New Brunswick you used to know any more. I knew every turn he made and every street he was on. The buildings too.
