Worked in the mall on the left at 6:06. Was a Rutgers student 1974-78. Rt 18 ended at Albany St/Rt 27. The piers for the bridge over the Raritan River were built around 1972 and sat there sans superstructure until the 1980’s. All traffic over the river went over the tiny, green, Landing Lane Bridge a few hundred feet upstream of those piers.

Amazing video. Thank you for adding the location at the bottom. I move from the area 42 years ago and parts in Old Bridge and East Brunswick have not changed.

New Brunswick, NJ is another satellite city of NYC in New Jersey. It is the seat of Middlesex County, NJ and is known for Rutgers University which is one of the 9 Colonial Colleges of the US.

My husband and I have been to all t0 states. It is fun to see your videos of places we recognize around the country. It was especially fun to watch your take on the New Jersey Turnpike and then to take the ride with you on the roads that we take to get to work and to get around this beautiful state. My husbands takes the Garden State Parkway north to work every day and I take it southbound. I hope you have a southern trip planned on the GPS and it would be fun to hear you narrate the ride. A trip through Princeton would be fun with a ride along Route #1.

Been out of Jersey 20+ years. Buying a 1970s rancher for 475,000+ is lunacy. Cool video. 18 East Brunswick 🔥. Magnificos 🍨

I remember that bridge was still under construction when i lived in new jersey with my family back in the late 90s. There was a hibachi restaurant here too that we went to. That bridge looks good post construction on route 18.

I remember when that bridge to walk over 18 was being built. The one in front of St .Thomas. Is it still called St Thomas? I rode my bike over it once or twice to hang with some southwood friends. Kind of wired though most of the kids that lived on the other side still went to southwood but eventually transferred to voorhees.

I see you're doing NJ, ever thought of going deep into the NW part like US 206 all the way over the Delaware River into NE PA. If you ever do, please let me know I'd love to see that!

Yeah I'll try to check that part out next time I'm in the area. When it's warm hopefully.

I have a stupid question, possible, but was Rt. 1 and Rt. 18 (in New Brunswick) once a traffic circle?

Rt 18 traffic is a cancer that never ends...
