Compare to other brand, they did backward except powerstack 1.7ah, but yet to tell how reliable that battery is. Other brand now brushless more tool on user request dewalt still trying to make brushed motor on new product( vaccum blower etc). Look at new makita 40v system tool and hikoki 36v platform with many tool range and super quality.

Damn back in the early seventies I started out with a skil worm drive metal saw !! Nothing could stop that thing, except maybe bone. You had to eat your wheaties for sure and grip that thing tight !!! I saw some idiots wire up the blade guard!!!! They would lay it on its side and the blade would spin for a good minute after they took their finger off trigger

Better to just get the DeWalt or skilsaw worm drive, I have one of the brushed DeWalt circular saws and my boss has a Milwaukee fuel circular saw, they both bog down. If you’re serious about cutting, get a worm (or hypoid) drive.

Just bought the ridgid. Watched a matchup and dewalt brushless 6.5 is mediocre in the ones he tested. Metabo was #1 but ridgid was #2. Looking forward to this lighter weight saw for 99% of my needs.

Nice saw I just bought the 6 an a half from the new hp line from ryobi because I already had a fuck ton of there batteries an now they are expensive.but I love that little thing.a word of advise with any ryobi saw of any kind take it out of the box an don't install the blade throw that in the trash put a new name brand blade on an it's suddenly an new tool

It might cut for longer runtime but it won't be any more powerful I don't think, the brushed one is pretty powerful it cuts just as fast if not faster than my dewalt brushless 71/4 saw

The key difference between brushed tools vs brushless, tends to be the overall noise of the tool as well as it's longevity. Brushed tools are louder and over time have potential to lose some of their power as the brush contacts wear out, and they will inevitably need to be replaced at some point throughout the life of a frequently used tool. If you don't use your tool(s) very often, chances are you won't notice much, if any difference. Some brushless tools are more powerful, but in this instance I don't believe there is any notable power difference.

Personally for me these things really shine doing rafter/ Truss work. General you're just cutting tails and outlookers in so you don't need to make a lot of cuts and you don't need to drag around A cord.

Makita will last a long time. I've worked for a lot of companies that had makita tools used day in and out but I don't like that you have to use 2 batteries with some of their circular saws and sawzalls. I have Milwaukee and have had very good luck. I sent 2 tools back to be repaired but their 5 year warranty is very good

I have a lot of bosch tools and love them but they are very slow at putting out tools. Some of their tools at Lowe's are the same ones I bought in 2013. Dewalt makes a very good miter saw. Their drills and impacts are good too
