Best advice I can give for this saw, use the dust port attachment and replace the blade with a Diablo blade. The 18 tooth blade that came with mine lasted about a week. Also the 6ah and 8ah batteries give a noticable increase in power over the 5ah and will run damn near all day

6 1/2” Dewalt has been my go to saw for about a year, much lighter than a 7 1/4”. The build quality is fine. It is well balanced even with a larger battery. The exit hole for dust collection is too small. The biggest downside is the smaller blades don’t last so long so buy up blades on sale if you can.

If you have an angle grinder get a diamond disc for it, as long as you don't rip the teeth off you can touch the blades up in just a couple minutes and have them cutting like brand new.

Very good review. I was thinking of getting one of these saws. This convinced me to do so. I recommend the 5 amp hour Powerstack battery. It’s very noticeably more powerful than my 5 amp hour batteries. I don’t have 6 AH batteries, but it’s not that far behind my 8s in power, though it doesn’t last as long.

Great info. Yes, if you're running this a lot, get a bigger battery. You're right, you can't go wrong with Diablo. Yup. Totally agree. The new 5 amp hour Powerstack battery is great. Expensive, but the two pack isn’t bad. If DeWalt is right, and it lasts twice as long, it’s actually cheaper. But I’ll tell you, it packs quite a kick.

I loved the video brother. Great job putting that 'little' 'trim saw' through the paces. These smaller saws are growing in popularity with handy men, that are trying to get fit as much stuff in a single box as possible, to be able to tote less. Being able to use this little guy that's punching a bit above it's weight is a very good thing. If this little saw fits in a box with all or most of the rest of your stuff, that means less fatigue. If bad boy works as hard as you do on the jobsite, as it appears to in your videos (I Love That Push The Tools You Test to Their Max, and Then Hold Them There, and Let the Tool 'Fly or Die'.🤓😎) This could be part of the tool arsenal that the right person makes their 1st 6figures with. Hey Brother.! Thanks for such an informative video. I feel like ive used this saw already after watching your video 🤓. I have used DeWalt's brushed version of this saw, and the power difference between it and my old (dying and, and since died✝️)RYOBI 5 1/2" trim saw, which was also brushed, and blade-left (the righty's choice, though I'm mostly abidextrious.) to be fair. That was mostly the end of the similarities. The RYOBI could cut all the trim for say 1/2 of the typical 3b2b house, the DeWalt brushed 6.5 could easily do all the trim for same house, probably with 3Ah battery, which was what I had on my RYOBI saw. RYOBI makes a very good 6.5" saw, but they'd rather sell little 5.5" brushed that's 1/2 the cost to make in China. If it wasn't for all the cool stuff that RYOBI does make, I'd get rid of the whole battery platform, but their bradnailer, their finish nailer, their freaking staple gun, the hotglue(yes! It's very usable in wood working.😎), Just to name a few.

Got mine home, took it out of the box, plugged a charged battery in and nothing, another battery and still nothing. Went to take it back and they were out of the saw, went back the next week, still no saws in stock, one more time, still nothing, so I set it off to the side on my porch, took it back again this time after about six months of sitting on the porch, they don't return anything after 90 days. So now I have a saw that still doesn't work and I have no idea where the receipt is. Just thought there may be a video on fix the problem, it's probably some kind of a connection issue, can you lead me to a video that may help out? Thanks

The blade guard blocks the dust port during the cut, also the opening for dust extraction is too small and blocked by the aluminum housing... It's terrible actually, the port should be located forward of the blade. The hose would be a little more cumbersome to deal with but if dust extraction is important, you'll just have to deal with it, but at least it would work.

Did you check the 90° right angle of the saw? Got mine new, but right angle is not right. But, if I turn the setting screw to adjust that, nothing is happening, cause the motor cover is already touching the bottom plate. So as I see that, the only option is filing down the bottom plate so then I will be able to adjust the right angle to right position.

my opinion, the ridgid 6 1/2 saw a couple videos back looked a little more impressive. i think the ridgid was a 2 or 2.5 battery and didnt sound like to was bogging down quite as much. price seems a bit high as well, if its $300 with 1 batt and charger. i would go with the ridgid, i might be a little biased with my crib death dewalt drill though.

The Ridgid is a great little saw as well. I would say they're very comparable. First, I'd buy either, depending on which batteries that you already may have. I've owned this saw since April 2021. It's okay. I like the size and power very much. However, it doesn't feel as quality as I'd expect from a "premium" brand. To be honest, a number of DeWalt products I've owned in the past few years have felt a little cheap in hand, so this is not an isolated example of that. Out of the box, my DCS565 couldn't achieve a perfect 90-degrees because the top side of the shoe was contacting the underside of the motor housing. So I had to file a small amount of material from the top of the shoe to provide enough clearance to get the blade exactly at 90-degrees. The bevel degree indicator is also extremely difficult to read on my saw due to the very faint number stamping. DeWalt really cheaped out there. I also don't like that the dust extractor attachment is some silly proprietary DeWalt nonsense and not just a regular vacuum hose connector. But as Tim demonstrated, tape will fix that issue. It's a capable little beast, but I'm going to keep an eye out for Milwaukee's next 6.5" circ saw.

I came back to this video because I'm trying to decide between this 61/2" Circular Saw and the new, or, 'newly-packaged' saw with SKIL's newer 5Ah battery and charger, which makes jumping to a new platform much easier to stomach. The new SKIL 5Ah battery is supposed to be their latest and greatest, newer battery tech, vastly improved performance. I guess you could say, 'I'm gonna add another battery platform to my arsenal,😎and I have DeWalt's box in my hands🤓, and I'm reading the SKIL's box🧐, trying to be sure I'm not making a mistake.🤨😕🤔 So 'When, Can We Expect The Video of The SKIL 6.5" Circular Saw.?'🤓🤠😎 Come on, I want more tool porn... But, then, DeWalt's got their pouch-cell batteries, along FLEX, and Milwaukee... Does SKIL have plans for moving to a pouch-cell battery design as others already have.🤔 Is it prudent to get the seemly capable SKIL 6.5 over the DeWalt's newish revamped, beautiful, brushless counterpart..!?
