Thank you. When ME talks about using the 5 and 13 SMA intradday to track the strength of a rally, what interval is she using? Hourly? Daily? It is important.

The 5 and 13 SMA is for intraday charts - 15 minute or 1 hour

down sloping moving averages are pretty ominous sign that we're not close to being done with the down trend..

@@vmon215 Largely short covering and options expiration pump .... Quad witching is notorious for this type of price action. We'll know how authentic the move is next week if it starts giving it back... i'm guessing this was a sucker rally since none of the things that were supposedly ailing the market have changed or gotten resolved....

Give it another week of upward movement and the moving averages will flip. Your are missing the meat of this move if your waiting for a fall.

I'm not sold on the rally yet, but my experience has taught me the rallies that stick are the ones nobody believes in, so I think the selling might be done in the short term. We broke a trendline this week as well in Nasdaq and S&P.
