New business direction makes a lot of sense given your knowledge. As you said if you get cars at the right price you know how to pull them apart and what you can sell the parts for. The other great thing about it is fast turnaround on each car, much better than restorations and rust repairs.

Much more interesting than welding up ancient rusty Fords. My daughter had a Swift S for a long time, the S model had the curtain airbags which the base ones didn't. When it came time to sell, it went for excellent price, but still a bargain for the new teenage owner. Factory struts were garbage but it was incredibly easy and cheap to put in a couple of aftermarket ones.

Does rust repair have a built in limit? I can't see old farts (like me) and getting older, lasting all that much longer with nostalgia for 60's and 70' cars. And my 90's Magna does not have any rust. Nostalgia ages too. I don't see cars from the last 40 years with rust. I'm sure there are some but are they worth restoration? I've seen Mr Spotty's Australian cousin make an appearance so I know you watch Vehcor. He seems to do something similar with GMC trucks amongst a few other things. He always mentions Scotts GM emporium as a supplier of parts. Good luck with the new venture. Maybe you'll establish a network and cars will start to find you. Particularly if you specialise in a select few cars.

I thought at first you decided to wreck the Swift you bought last week. I don't think you mentioned it's progress? Wrecking yard.. ...you are going to need space. Space is expensive and that expense chips away at the profit. You make some very good videos on Utube. It's partially the content and primarily the presenter that accounts for that. Work to your strengths and good luck with the new direction.

@@xacoupeguy Perhaps not now, but you have the requisite knowledge & connections to pull together a team that could do it. Imagine someone sends you the car, and while you're doing the bodywork, you send off the mechanicals & upholstery to get sorted in parallel. You would have to have your act together on cashflow. It's a big challenge for sure, but one way to move to the next level.
