So I’m going to a preemployment drug screening next week for a county construction inspector position. I do not use cannabis but my wife does and a lot. I also own a cannabis farm and touch cannabis thousands of times without gloves every week if not everyday . I just did a at home CVS urine test even though it’s been 2 yrs since I used cannabis and I tested positive. It was a very faint line but I was told if you don’t actually inhale cannabis you won’t test dirty. I CAN NOT FAIL THIS TEST! It’s $200k a year I need this job. ?????

Thank you for another one of the many informative videos I have watched. I have been going to a pain clinic in Ca. for over 10 years. Up until end of 2022 I not use during this time, & receive hydrocodone. Last year there was a sign in the office stating that the DEA required random tests of illegal drugs, i.e. cocaine, heroin, and THC. However THC was crossed out. Friends told me to ask, but I was afraid it would make me look "guilty". I do know of at least one person who takes Percocet at this clinic & uses THC. I tested positive for THC after 29 days of being clean after heavy use on a home test. I have a compression fracture & am in a walker for a while since a fall Dec. 2023. I was given a test at the clinic yesterday, after 31 days of abstinence. I can't find any info on this subject & really need help. Any info on pain clinic protocol in Ca. would help-I just can't find anything. Thank you so much. Maybe you could direct me where to search! (Feb. 28, 2024.)

I agree. I think pre-employment drug testing is dumb because the person may not be impaired at the time, an equivalent device like a breathalyzer is a great idea.

@@BryanCinemas absolutely correct. all of this nonsense was put in place by reagan, 30+ years ago. if you smoked week 6 hours ago, you are no longer impaired and are completely fine to drive. the intoxicating effects only last around 2 hours. the government needs to start minding their own buisness, up until the point where a driver is ON DUTY..... at that time, removal from the seat is completely warranted.

Even breathalyzers aren't perfect. An alcoholic could blow over the limit and not be impaired at all, while someone who's never drank alcohol could blow under the limit and be impaired.

@@EasyDOTPhysicals of course not, our government is corrupt. what right does the government have to know what drivers are doing specifically OFF DUTY. i know plenty of drivers that get absolutely hammered on a daily basis (drunk) and get in the truck the next morning with a hangover. FSMCA and clearing house DOES NOT catch these individuals. the only time an alcoholic gets taken OUT of the truck is when they finally get a DWI. i have seen instances of drivers getting DWIs behind the wheel of a commercial vehicle. this industry has a massive problem with alcohol. but let's be concerned of off duty marijuana usage that occurred within an undetermined period of time before driving. could be 20 minutes ago, could be 2 weeks ago. who knows.

Which at home tests are the most accurate ? I've used Exploro and @Home Made Easy and one or two others. I have not used in 60 days. I show negative with Exploro , but I only get really faint lines on the Test area (negative) on the other at home tests. I want to make sure I'm good before I go do a lab test.

Technically a faint line, no matter how light it is, means you tested negative and are under the 50ng/mL reading. In my experience, the cleaner you are, the darker the line. If you are only getting a VERY FAINT LINE, it could mean you are at around 40-45ng/mL and just under the threshold. Hope that helps. It depends on what state you live in. I live in Illinois most places don’t test you for thc anymore. And they say it right on the application

I pass my saliva test every time. I use mouth wash and chewing mint gum right before the swab test. Just make sure you keep the gum under your tongue so they do not see it.

They dont test for thc metabolites anymore, they do 10 panel drug test for opioids and other drugs excluding marijuana.

I want to know if employers are STILL testing for THC at "normal" jobs, even after the laws changed this year. I'm not asking about DOT, construction, or government jobs, because I know they can still legally test for it. I've been applying for manufacturing, warehouse, landscaping, etc. type of jobs...and they all say on the job ads that a pre-employment drug test is required, but don't specify if THC is still tested for. I won't ask them about it because I assume that makes you look suspicious. My concern is that they actually are still testing for it (illegally) and will discriminate if they find that you're positive.

@@luismora5328 I've been clean since the 26th of last month. I'm not a heavy user by any means, pretty much just take a small hit here and there, some days I don't smoke at all. But I am overweight, so I don't know if I'd still be dirty or not. Have been absolutely DEAD broke, living off an almost maxed out credit card, so no spending on anything except essentials. I do have a job but it's seasonal and very low annual pay. Just went back yesterday, but I don't get paid for an entire month. And it's a long way from home, that's why I've been trying to get another job. But no one would hire me...naturally. Second year in a row of this garbage trying to get jobs.
