It's too bad the crabbing season has been closed the last 2 seasons. These boats are paying the price for greed and over fishing the fishery the past 10 years.

I know you’re probably fairly ignorant but it’s not the western boats. It is exclusively china. They stole a billion dollars of crab a couple years back. It has nothing to do with these people at all

They watch other boats on their radar and if other boats are in the same area for long periods of time it tips other boats off that its crab there or they would've abandoned that spot .

@thomasmccann3679

The fishing had nothing to do with it. Harsh quotas and limits are placed on crab fishing to prevent too sorts a decrease in the population. A mass migration or other natural blight is likely the cause of the disappearing of the crab. Don’t be an ignoramus

The quotas are set by the government, they hire boats to go fish crab before the season and determine how healthy the crab population is and based on that set the limit that can be caught that season.

Hello Sean, sorry for the loss of you Father, I know how you feel about his passing. ALS is such a bad disease I lost my wife back here in March 8, 2023 due to ALS which you know is the Luke Garuds disease I heard you say that your father had it for eight years. My wife passed only after six months of the Loop Garuds disease. I’m so sorry for your loss and I know they’re in a better place because that is the worst disease I have ever heard of and witnessed our death. You be safe out there my friend I watch your show all the time and you are one of the good captains out there to take care and good luck

I'm a little confused about this: why drop pots where there's no crab? Can they not just drop a camera with a cable and light down to look at the bottom of the ocean and see if there's crab there to catch? If not, move on to where there is crab. It would be a whole lot cheaper and economical.

Not me, give me 6 to 8 otherwise just let me go for as long as I can before collapsing. I think state of mind has alot to do with it. You said you tie knots, I usually read or do something as well.
