This is the Aston Martin DBS - the first modern classic to join the channel and one of my dream cars! The Aston Martin DBS is a 2008/2009 naturally aspirated V12 manual developing 510bhp - it was made instantly famous after featuring in the Daniel Craig James Bond film - Casino Royale - and I've loved it ever since! Growing up with my uncle embedded in the world of Aston Martin I've loved the brand from a very early age so, today is a very special day to be sharing with you!

Had is in the shop for couple weeks now since I wanted to change some internals for new (2008 car, what can I say) and I am buzzing with excitement to get it back today!! Color match the grille to the vents and fender garnishes; I think that'll look way better! I love how much more affordable the manual DB9/DBS is compared to the 599 nowadays. Still just out of my range, but perhaps not for long!

@@AwkwardYet mclaren f1, ferrari f50, Diablo sv, 250 gto, enzo, pagani zonda cinque, aether these are the epitomes of the automobile from an enthusiasts perspective, rwd manual mid engine, v12 NA, these are purebred raw drivers machines and there values reflect that, an automatic 4.0 v8 or 2.0 turbo 4 banger will never be that or have those values. Timeless drivers machines, and pure unadulterated experiences will always win out in the long term. Just look at the value of a 997 gt3 rs compared to a brand new one, in 10 years it is worth double what the brand new one is, why, because it is more mechanical and pure. There are lots of low production cars, they do not have values like these unless they have the perfect enthusiast setup. Just look on the classic market.

Congratulations! Such a beautiful car. I felt the same way when I bought mine two years ago. A couple of things to share: 1. If yours is late 2008 manufacture, it's a model year 2009 car. There were only few true MY08 DBSs made, and those were dealer demonstrators or press cars. The last MY08 car was chassis number E00030. 2. The configuration you have (no back seats) is what Aston and AMOC refer to as "2+0", with 2+2 referring to the ones with the little useless back seats (glad mine doesn't have them). 3. Does yours have an original or early clutch plate? If so, you may notice a "whirring" sound if you slip the clutch on launch. It was a known defect in the early clutch plates for the DBS and V12 Vantage 6-speed. Aston introduced an improved clutch plate later which cures this issue. Mine had the issue, and swapping it for a new clutch transformed the driving experience for me. Enjoy your DBS! Excited to see more videos.

I have a 09 in the same colour, Storm Black, and same spec but with interior stitching in red, beautiful car that drives as well as it looks. Definitely definitely return the front grill to original finish, the black only cheapens the appearance. Manual DBS is a jewel in the Aston lineup, congrats.

The DBS gives me more excitement than the F12 TdF. The F12 is cool, but it’s nothing in terms of experience compared to this. Sunny Day, Countryside Roads, Manual Gearbox, ans NA V12 symphony for ears. It truly makes you feel like James Bond. Can’t wait to see your adventures with this car. And make the Front Grille Polished Aluminium to match with the Window Surrounds. It’ll blend in very well.

Nicely does it, James! What a beautiful car. Definitely one of the best looking modern Aston's. The carbon is just perfect. I'm in two minds about returning the front grill back to silver. On the one hand, it will tie into the other silver accents on the car and make a great contrast, but keeping it black just gives it that little bit of extra aggression to the front end. I really don't envy you having to choose. Top, top video mate as always.

Gotta admit, when my DB9 was being serviced, I took out one of their manual DBS in lightning silver.... OMG it was absolutely stunning! Was like my old manual V8 vantage but with the the size and engine of my DB9 and just even more incredible! I sold my DB9 a week later and bought another manual Vantage (couldn’t stretch to a DBS). But seriously considering this or a mk2 Vanquish.... btw the grill, go anthracite. On black it looks stunning. But your wheel colour should match your grill for über coolness. 😎 AND Mr JWW get yourself on the Facebook Aston groups! Your passion will be equally matched and loved 👍🏻
