For the average man who drives a normal car, a tesla or for that matter pretty much all electric cars are going to be an improvement. I would like to think I know a thing or two about steering feel considering I also own a Mclaren 600LT (which replaced a Lotus Evora 400) and I have to disagree about the car having awful steering feel..... it is certainly no 600LT but I don’t think there is any less communication coming through the wheel than the 2019 BMW 3 Series that my Tesla replaced, and the handling up till about 8/10ths atleast is absolutely better than that BMW, with a super sharp turn in, negligible body roll, and terrific balance..... and my impressions come from a lot of skepticism about Tesla. To be clear, I am not a Tesla fanboy, I still think the build quality leaves a lot to be desired and the quality of some materials is sub par for a $65k car but as far as a drivers car I have been pleasantly surprised by how competitive it is

James, a question to raise about Battery life…. A subject no-one is talking about. I recently spoke to someone who installed batteries and solar on their house and said they didn’t want Tesla batteries because they could get other batteries with a greater life span, but he also said all batteries only last for so long and will be replaced at some point. Now, a lot of car reviewers never touch on long term livability of a car or even resale, generally, and a question I ask, no one has raised, when will these batteries need replacing and how much will it cost? A lot I expect. Are Tesla’s and , God for bid, the Audi GT RS, just throw away items like phones? Will these new EVs have a short lifespan….? That just makes them even hugely more expensive than first thought…

What do you compare it to, though? James owns cars that are performance vehicles, so I can only assume that's the reason.

Don't get the performance model people, it comes with Michelin sport tires and they are really not comfortable for normal everyday driving. I have also seen many instances where the tires blow out when driving over small holes.

@@mitnickmitnick1378 its different to the German cars, more simplistic. You buy the Tesla for the technology.
@mitnickmitnick13783 жыл бұрын
@@VaporwareMartinez Tech doesn't mean, screw an IPAD on the dash. Or add cameras that tapes when you aren't there, or drive while sleeping (horrible tech btw).. this is useless tech. But they are cool to some people so they think this is useful and unique. Maybe you can check how much tech is in brand new cars, german or else. Play a video game while charging isn't tech... you can do it on a 1990 Toyota Tercel if you bring your IPAD. Building boost at 0mph is tech, dual clintching 10 speeds on a gear box is tech. Fueling any petro cars with E-Fuel without any modification while reduicing current carbone released on the air by more than 80% is tech.

Why is James making a show of using the card to operate the Tesla? Maybe he literally just picked up the car and he hasn't paired his phone to it yet, but it seems strange. Also, the Tesla hates corners? Really? Countless reviewers have said otherwise. I know James is a petrol head and though he doesn't seem overtly anti-Tesla or anti-EV it kind of comes through with statements like that. Oh, well... we'll see just how much of this car makes it to the channel in the coming weeks and months. My guess? Not a lot.

5:30 BTW model 3 owners manual says performance model 3 has actualy about 505hp (and atomic at nurburgring did mesure 520hp at wheels). and that 480 number cant be corret because my 2019 boosted LR model has been mesured at 482hp whit 75% battery charge. and 16:15 just put better tires on that because because whit michelin ps4s tires are way better than those pirellis (or then 2021 has just worse dynamics than 2019 model).

Have you tried track mode and does that change your handling experience? Also, you should be able to add your own engine noise.

This review is absolutely incomplete and he has not adjusted to the car. Track Mode would solve a lot of the problems he is talking about. Also, this is the Chinese’s version, not sure if that is a difference. He has not tested the car enough.
