Superman Man of Steel 18. Only 1 9.9 which sold for over 5k in 2022. So many 9.8 so could be a good one to prescreen for 9.9

If you can't tell the difference between a 9.8 and a 9.9 (which none can honestly say they can) then, there is no way in hell I would pay anything more for a 9.9

They are paying for the rarity of a 9.9 number, not the comic

@@GravelRacer1 True. If you're buying over a Fine, you're buying a number. That's the only thing that makes 95% of books expensive.

Buying a 9.9 now (or even a 9.8) is fool’s gold.
@jeffstanley60132 ай бұрын
Always has been IMHO, since you can get a 9.6 that looks just as good from 5 feet away for a small fraction of the 9.8 (or 9.9) price.

I randomly stumbled across a seller who's accounted for like half the Wolverine 17s sold on eBay this year. These hoarders and big money spec guys exist.

Just got a modern in 9.9 . I’m interested to see if it’s on the next video list . Til then 👋

We are going to see more 9.8s on an ongoing basis because those who have pristine raw books are going to try for that 10 or 9.9.

Does CVA ever reject a book or is it simply pay for a CVA label?

I have no idea lol. I just assume they accept everything that pays them.

People do not send your graded comics for a new grade. The old slabs'will eventually be worth more. Mark my word. And old 9.8 will be worth more than a new 9.9.

As an owner of Avengers 57 9.8 W, I do not welcome the news. I would argue that it is a tier one character,and I would buy a second one (or maybe bid it way up)if I had to, just to protect the value of what I already have. 🤔

No way vision is tier 1. Most people didn’t know Vision existed before the movies and still don’t care about him.

The Vision was never a big character even when I bought Avengers 57 back in the 60s. I remember when Wanda fell in love with the Vision. I thought it was ridiculous.

Why 9.9? Stick to being consistent CGC. 9.8s are better like they always been.

Cgc lost a lot of credibility to me when their own president says a 9.9 can have a spine tick. Wtf!!!!

Idk, i think the 9.9 will be selling at about the same prices of 9.8's at least in the modern books... CGC are being stupid AF........
@AutomaticComics2 ай бұрын
I watch the auctions, they definitely don’t. Like the 9.9 xforce 2 that just recently sold for over $4,000. That book is a $60-70 9.8. It doesn’t really have anything to do with CGC. They don’t make people pay more for the comics. People choose to pay what they think it’s worth.

@@AutomaticComics why would someone pay four grand for a comic you can find NM+ and up pretty much anywhere and everywhere for $5 tops anytime before and after the few months surrounding an anticipated film release? FOUR GRAND FOR AN X-FORCE 2 really???? There's a perfect one on the wall of my LCS right now for $8 I believe. . .mind-boggling smh

@@danalvin1184 not everyone has the same priorities or budget. Some people want to have the best copy out there and are willing to pay for it.

@@AutomaticComics Zero guarantee it's the best copy out there and you know that, like all the 9.8s with spine tics lol. Did you not see the "9.9" Giant-Size #1? Yes, you did. as I watched you do more than one video on it months ago. You're honestly telling me that's the best copy out there? Anyone with eyes knows that's a lie. Will you be pumping up the wave of 10s when those come next so CGC can milk people for yet ANOTHER wave of money when they already paid once to get a grade that's supposed to be timeless and "objective"? Oftentimes a grade given by people relatively new to the endeavor who have minimal training? Sold my last CGC slab (a 9.8) this week & happy to be done with the charade. CGC's widespread grading inconsistencies are a blight on the market & Heritage has an enormous stake in CGC so they of course jointly manipulate that market they've monopolized together. I'll unsubscribe so as not to further detract from the arbitrarily applied decimal points assigned by people who clearly have no idea how to consistently apply their own rubric, or even properly handle books without damaging them on a far too regular basis -- enjoy the illusion!

Realistically, most people would be happy with a 8.5 or 9.0 comic in their collection, but if you spend just a little more money and get a 9.8.... Or a little more money and get the only 9.9....
