How much do these Chanel items cost? Even in EU it gives we US dwellers some idea. Also, I do my own nails, and agree that Chanel ruined their polish. Chipping the first day on me. It used to last 10 days! Is Dior as bad? I tried two holiday colors without issue. But I hate chipped nails. It looks like I'm poorly groomed. Plus, like you said, it's expensive. My favorite new product is the eye pencil. I like the purple and the aqua. But if they're $40 or more each, it's a pass. Thanks for the video. 💚

Thanks for the overview and swatches Angela. Huge CHANEL lover here, but this is all a pass for me. If I didn't have a fuchsia or coral blush than maybe - but honestly, for the price, other brands are knocking it out of the park. Probably in the minority here, but the 3 young women coming up with the concepts lately just aren't doing it for me. I think they lack the experience/know how to be putting out these collections. Let's hope Fall/Winter and Holiday have better offerings.

Honestly, when Luccia Picca was the artistic director of Chanel beauty, the seasonal collections were my favorite, though everyone seemed to curse her right left and center. Never understood why. The quality was impeccable and not even every other collection included the infamous red shadows. So whoever was unhappy is probably happy now but come on…. That was class, enticing, creative and innovative…. and this is experimenting)) at best:)

I used opi nail polish. I put their clear base coat. Then the color and lastly the clear top coat. Lasted me 7 DAYS WITH NO CHIPPING. I was amazed .

I agree that the Chanel nail polish chips very soon after application. I find that OPI, Sally Hansen, and Revlon HD nail polishes last a lot longer.

Thank you for this review - so helpful. I will buy the pink blush - but I had hoped it was more like the promo photos and more plum than pink. Also, I have exactly the same problem with Chanel nail polishes. So annoying considering how expensive they are. OPI are better quality at a third of the price x

I vote for the orange eyeliner. It is more interesting than anything else, plus orange actually accentuates the blue (colour theory) so it will look awesome on you.

Beautiful photos! I will probably buy the berry duo. I agree with you on the changes in the Chanel pressed powders. My snowflake blush I actually used the other end of the brush to get product, and that didn’t work. Historically the Chanel blushes have had little color pay off. I know that is part of the marketing “soft makeup look”, but they have been ridiculous. I hope I have better like with this one, especially with the expected cost. Thank you for this video!

The collection is absolutely stunning, I have seen live swathes of it and it is gorgeous. The collection will sell out quickly so waiting for reviews and opinions might not be the case here. I’m definitely getting both powders as i love both shades and they are quite different and with my neutral complexion I love wearing both, cooler and warmer tones. My friend is thrilled with hers actually, with eyeliners too. Finishes are gorgeous and I can’t wait for these. Les Beiges trios are still working amazingly well for me. I truly appreciate what you have to say about the new products of Chanel, Angela! Sepi’s photos were so helpful, too! I am planning to buy most of the products, because I love these color stories. I do agree with the nail polishes 💅🏼 from Chanel and Dior are not the same as before. The new mint nail polish from Dior is good this time. Hi Angela, You are not wrong about the quality of the Chanel makeup. I skipped many new releases because I didn’t like how the powder felt when I tried the products in store. I am interested in the coral blush and waiting for your review. 🙂 Regarding the nail polishes from Chanel I didn’t have a bad experience so far. Maybe it’s because I have only very light colours - white, cream, ivory or very light pink. I am very selective with makeup in general and I buy only if I really need it and I am sure I will use it. I just have one foundation/concealer/under eye powder/face powder/mascara/brow pencil and I will replace them after they are finished. Lip balms I have just a few (3-4 I think) and 2 lipsticks because I don’t use lip products every day. Only eyeshadows and blushes I have more but not a crazy amount and only small pallets. Now with the questionable quality in luxury brands I am extra careful with my purchases. Thanks for sharing!🙂

Hi Angela. Thank u as always for ur integrity and honest reviews. I agree with what u said about hard pan of blushes. I’ve experienced this time snd time again with CHANEL. And the prices are too high to keep disposing of products that no longer perform. So I will pass on the new ones even tho they look very pretty, they have not reinvented the wheel. The nail polish always have such outstanding shades and I always get sucked in to buy. Dior, too. And yes, then they chip in one day. So again, I’m passing. What happened to quality? Having worried for them for over 25 years, I’m so sad and disappointed in such an iconic company. Change is not always for the better. U look lovely today.😊💝

Hi Angela, I agree with the Polaire powder blush not being easy to pick up. I have a Chanel powder brush but it is still an effort to get the level of pigment I want. Now, I’d rather use this than a very strongly pigmented powder, because it’s easier to add more than to take away. If this is the result of removing talc, I’m good with that. Thank you for this quick swatch information video, it is indeed very useful to think before buying lately! Do you know if the current brow pencil shades are still going to be available? About the nail polishes of Chanel: it used to chip for me, too, THEN 1. Wash my hands thoroughly with soap also using a nail brush, scrubbing under my nails. 2. Using a paper stemmed cotton bud - dip it into acetone, then "paint your nails" with it. Very thoroughly, edges and cuticules, too. Wait for it to evaporate. 3. I do not remove my cuticules neither do I push them back. 4. Apply Chanel base - wait 2 minutes, but not more! 5. Apply Chanel colour polish, super lightly, this is coat 1. wait 5 minutes 6. Apply second coat of colour polish, still lightly, but with this one there's now proper coverage - wait 5-10 mins, you know to the point where you can tell it is drying, but not completely dry yet. 7. Apply top coat, super generously. My red Chanel 500 nail polish, that is over 6 years old now, still lasted for 7 days! I washed my hair 3 times and showered daily, but I do dishes with gloves. Before going through those steps above that way, this same nail polish used to chip after 2-4 days. My last remaining problem with this colour and with Rouge Noir (Vamp) is that it is impossible to remove nicely, they bleed-stain all over my cuticules. Oh well. The instruction above are a mixture of reading various blogs and my personal experimentation. Hope it helps! I do my nails whilst watching TV : )

Thank you for the review of the new Chanel Collection!! I agree, the pink blushes are a beautiful color, however, I'm certain I have similar colors currently. Regarding the nail polishes, I also have a huge frustration with polishes that chip on the 2nd day of wear!! I used to do my own medium-length acrylic at home. However, I switched to gel polishes because they are less harmful to my nails. I've been going to the salon, however, was considering purchasing the Manicurist home gel set! It looks easy to do. Yesterday I bought the stylo ombre purple and the blue. And also they have 3 nail polish one very brown very covering one green looking like a past collection very shiny but transparent and a pink iridescent called songe d’été also transparent

Great review as always Angela ❤.. I agree my winter glow blush is too firmly pressed. I am going to buy the pink duo and hope for the best .Maybe a brow pencil. Maybe be an eye liner /shadow.. I’m not as excited for new makeup anymore. I hope they return to the previous quality: I might just have to give up on Chanel . So sad . 😢

Love the review. Will look at the eyebrow pencil as the Bobbi brown one I use keeps breaking so won’t repurchase that again. Totally agree about the nail polishes. I worked for Chanel a few years ago and found the polishes much better then. It’s a shame as the colours are stunning. Love the Channel 🫶🏻💕

I totally agree about the nail polish. I buy Chanel every year. This year I purchased Lagune. It stayed on for days the first application but the second application chipped after two days. I thought it was just me.

In order to have the Chanel nail polish to stay you should put a gel coat with the home apparels. And then 2 coats of nail polish and then a topper. Guaranteed it will last.

Thank you for the review! If you have access in Europe to Olive & June nail polishes, I highly recommend their long-wear formula. OPI's long-wear formula is good, too. Both brands make nice colors. Even if I were tempted by a particular Chanel or Dior color, what's the use if the finish chips in two days? Whoever sees us in public won't know what brand we're wearing, only how it looks.

Thank you for showing us. ❤ I look forward to your review I’m definitely interested in some of those pieces like the fuschia blush, the purple, blue and maybe green eyeliner depending on how it looks on the eyes. I think I may get both of those baume essentials since I collect those and love them so much for easy days and one and dones. The solar one would look beautiful on the eyes and as a bronzer. The nail polish with the green is intriguing and I wonder how it would look on me lol. Would I wear it? Why not lol for the summer. I have nothing like that. Chanel is really going for the younger consumer on this collection. It looks like great colors for a summer music festival like Coachella. 😂 it is beautiful and yet not something I’d like to wear everyday so I have to think hard if I really need and want this. You said that unfortunately the powder will not last as long as it used to be - instead of 4-5 years it will be around 1-1.5 years. My question is: but do we really NEED it to last that long anyway? Considering that the expiry date of most beauty products is not that long, and it is not hygienic to use it 5 years anyway?

I’m interested in getting one of the blushes, but it won’t be a huge deal for me if I’m unable to get it. As for hard pan, take a piece of tape, cover the hard pan area with it. When you lift the tape, it lifts the hard area and refreshes the powder.

I find if you use your finger the oils in your skin transfer into the powder and it hardens and becomes difficult to use. So always use a clean brush. If you notice on tester products in store this happens all the time, they have to be swapped over fairly often. Dior seemed to be worse than Chanel in the past. Especially their face powders. I never use my finger on any product and the shelf life of my products lasts ages longer.

I am still kicking myself for missing purchasing the duo primptems released a few years ago. Now those peachy colours were to die for. These two compacts are a pass for me. The Chanel lover already has these blush and highlight colours in single pans. Yes the pink shimmery highlighter is different but I agree with you in that powder products from the last year or so become hard panned easily. The same goes for Dior powders. These are a pass for me. I do like the pink and orange liners. ❤

I haven’t bought a Chanel or Dior polish recently and it makes me sad to learn some colors are chipping like that. I really like the pink blush but depending on price, I might skip. I don’t love highlighters and the thought of too firmly pressed product or potential hard pan is a turnoff.

I've had good Chanel nail polish, but most nope. They'll thicken up or chip too quickly as you said. I'm also pretty disappointed in this collection because many look nothing like the original promo shots, which I was super interested in.

This collection has no coherence to me. I am passing on all but the fine-tip eyebrow pencil. Chanel has the best eyebrow shades for people with red hair, so I use their liquid eyebrow tint and gel eyebrow pencil. The cream eyeshadow sticks dry out for me, so I'm using what I have and not buying more. I haven't been dissuaded by Chanel's powder products and would purchase the blush/highlighter duos if I didn't already invest in two Les Beiges Sun Kissed compacts (one has a raspberry blush in it) and the 3 Les Beiges blush in the winter collection. Crossing my fingers for irresistible Fall and holiday collections.
