We got the 2022 FDS in Jan ‘22. We love it! On longer trips we tie the bathroom door open before bringing slide in. One trip we used the dinette bed and made the sofa down for sleeping a nite or two where we couldn’t put slide out…worked great! We use two long under-bed bins beneath the sofa in the pass thru storage= access from outside or inside. The bedside closets hold a lot. We have few hanging clothes so we use the deep storage for other things. Will be doing some mods in there..I.e. hooks on wall, shelves. The double bed IS smaller but the large nightstands add elbow space (we’ve adjusted :), hold our c-paps/pillows etc during day. As you two have done, we find lots of little places for storage. The bathroom is the real star! We have the huge closet in there. The shower is a joy to use. We put a tension bar in the shower for towels to dry. The kitchen is a bit small, but I use the dinette table for extra prep. I put gripper fabric strip the full length behind faucet and stove and keep small coffee pot, flatware tray and utensil container back there. Nothing has budged yet . 🤞 We minimized a lot and are enjoying the simplicity w/o compromise. We also like the small improvements that were made and convenient outside storage/ shower. We’re an older couple and chose to downsize for these last few years of camping. After much research, we felt the GeoPro/EPro was a great choice for quality and comfort.

Thank you for the comment! Great to know that there is a work around for the bathroom door and not being able to put the slide out. We did like all the storage compartments but do you find you miss drawers inside? Didn’t seem to be any. LOVE the bathroom. That shower is so spacious compared to ours haha! And great tip for the kitchen! Glad you love the camper. We think if we decide we want a change - this would be the winning floorplan!

@@bevgunson1486 Ed own the 2022 and did the same. We have large containers in the pass through, clear organizers above the dinette, and also on one side in the bathroom. We found if you have a place for everything and just put it back when not in use that the lack of storage isn't that noticeable.

Taking delivery of our 2023 FDS this week. After dragging around a 39 foot 5th wheel for a couple of years we had to downsize, just too much work! Appreciate your videos for the hacks and great info. The new models easily accept LiFePO batteries with no hardware changes so we are looking forward to being able to do more boondocking. Thanks again and safe travels.

Hi! Congrats on the new camper - how is it working for you? Have you done the shakedown trip yet? Think they went to an upgraded lithium compatible converter in the 2022 model (but don't quote us on that lol) which is a nice upgrade. Thinking most people are upgrading to lithium at this point. We have a '22 19FD. We didn't want a slide (more problems to potentially go wrong). We have the extra counter space, flip up end counter, large linen closet (or whatever) in bathroom. Honestly, the murphy bed feels like an oversized full. It has an oven and microwave. We only hate the tiny 22" tv. My husband modified and installed a heavy duty receiver hitch to the frame in the rear. We upgraded the inside AC unit and it has a digital thermostat and extra fully directional vents. We're pretty happy with it.
@WinesPinesandCanines2 жыл бұрын
Hi! Thanks for watching! Glad you are enjoying the camper so far. Love those upgrades!! Did your husband have to add anything additional to the frame for the hitch? Thinking of that but want to make sure we do it right! The AC upgrade is on our list for next year as well. I do like that the FD gives you a flip up countertop extension. Hope you have some great trips planned for the fall - safe travels and happy camping!

We picked our 2022 GeoPro 20-FBS up Feb 2022 and hit the road full-time mid-Jun and have logged 6000 miles on her. I altered the Jackknife sofa false kicker plate just like yours. Absolutely love having access to the slide motor and extra storage. My wife also made a storage cube similar to your footstools. Thank you for those ideas! I replaced the 6-gal water heater with an On-demand which gives me slightly more than 60 lbs more cargo weight and about 6inches extra space in the passthrough. I used that extra space to move and upgrade my battery box to Lithium. I now have 2x 200amp LiFePo and installed and an auxiliary 3000-watt inverter (didn't want to rewire the whole trailer). With the Lithium in the passthrough they are easier to keep warm in cold weather and safer from theft. To accompany the Lithium upgrade I added a 2nd 200-watt solar panel (will probably add a 3rd), also upgraded the 30amp GoPower PWM charge controller to a Renogy 40-amp MPPT controller inside the unit with a double 12volt breaker shutoff for the PV panels and for the 20-amp solar ready port on the side I installed a Renogy 20-amp MPPT controller to use with 400-watt solar suitcase. We hated the two wardrobe cabinets on the side of the bed; they are very awkward to use, and normal sized hangers run into problems. Instead, I built a shelving unit out of "Project Wood" (can find at JoAnne Fabrics or Michaels) that fits folding Ikea cloth storage boxes for the back of each wardrobe. We still hate the wardrobes but at least they are more useable now. We absolutely hate the 72in Jackknife sofa; the metal supports are too weak and bend every time anyone sits down and tilts their hips unnaturally. It is awfully uncomfortable. Our internal slide width is 74 inches and I'm going to pull the couch and put in a sideways Ikea pine dresser to act as more kitchen counter space and a modified wooden outdoor loveseat. Other Projects: Get rid of the internal water filter in back storage compartment and build shelving. Remove the panel under the linen closet and add a shelve into the same compartment where the water filter resides.

Glad you are getting some use out of the camper - the Geo Pros/E Pros are great campers for traveling! Glad you found the kickboard and footstool ideas helpful. But agreed on the couch - a little more cushion would make a world of difference. Would love to see what you do to this area when you modify it. And intrigued on your hot water heater upgrade. That one is going to go on the list to do some research on - thank you! We are hopeful to make some additional battery and solar upgrades this year so may have to circle back with some questions as sounds like you have done some great improvements! Just got our 2023 a few days ago and it looks like you found most of the changes. Small change from 2022, very small, solar panel is now 200 watts versus 190. Also looks like no more on board water filter, guess the filters were just a problem with leaks so they were deleted. The setup for the grill is a bit different, almost like triangular panels versus the bars. Had to take a moment to figure out how to set it up. The panels may help with wind? If I find any other changes, I'll post. Thanks for the great video as always! You folks are great!

I purchased a 22-19FD without a slide. So far it’s worked for me. BUT with some exceptions, 1) the windows don’t open as much as I’d like. I’d like a few more inches plz. 2) in the 2022 model there’s not much room for your knees. 3) the bed is fine except it’s a little too high (tall) when opened. Difficult getting in or out for shorter ppl. 4) I had an issue with a lock cylinder. No matter what I did, the dealer would not agree. The problem was IN the lock cylinder. So rather than argue. I just replace the lock cylinder with a new one. 5) on one of the cabinet doors, the miter hinge broke so I had to replace the door. Despite the problems I still enjoy “My Little Castle”. Thanks for videos keep up the GR8 work. May you keep the rubber on the road and the sunny side up…… Jeff

Hi! Sorry it took us a bit to respond - been taking some family time! We really like the 19fd as well. We did do a video a few years ago (came out in Jan 2020) called Tips and Tricks for the GeoPro and we modified the windows to give a bit more opening room. But, recently read something about the 23 models that they may not operate the same so not sure if it works on the 22. Might be helpful for you though in #1! That is frustrating on the lock cylinder but we have found it is easier sometimes to just fix it ourselves! And yes - have seen a few problems with the doors in the last few years. We have the 2022 E Pro 19FDS and one problem was where to put our generator when needed as we were pulling the camper with our Jeep Cherokee and didn't want the smell of gas in our Jeep. The hitch receiver would allow us to put a rack to sit the generator on the back. The other things that are new that we love are the solid wood cabinet doors, the larger TV with sound bar, (much easier for me to see when sitting in the recliners) and the digital thermostat controls for A/C and heat. We may be selling our 2022 model to upgrade to the 2023 as it seems to have the things we really needed on the 2022 but did not get.

The hitch and the AC are big changes. Like the new larger TV. The coloring and wood is nice. It does have a cool looks and nice size bathroom. Like the murphy bed. Too bad the recliner is awkward. Yeah, the full bed is a downer. Yeah, blocking the bathroom would be a huge deal for us. We like to use the bathroom at stops. Can you get to the refrigerator on travel days? That would be a deal breaker for us too.

We almost bought a FDS but couldn't come to an agreement with the dealer. We ended up with the 19FD. My biggest concerns with the FDS were the amount of hoses that had to move with the slide (worried about leaks) and the low mount microwave that is hard to read and use. We considered a FBS but decided that the murphy bed was a better option.
@WinesPinesandCanines2 жыл бұрын
Good point on the hoses, etc. Not sure how they have all that routed but assume that is what is behind all those panels! And yes - getting something hot out of the microwave would be harder than at eye level! How are you liking the camper so far?
@davematthews76862 жыл бұрын
@@WinesPinesandCanines the FD is nice. I like the 7' width for towing but it makes it more of a squeeze to walk through. Slides help with that but bring other problems. What I had trouble with on the microwave was reading the panel. Not real high contrast and in a dark spot.

Great video guys!!! More info than the dealer's videos give you. Another new 2023 features is the on/off wall switch on the fridge. Not sure why you would need one. I thought the fridge had it's own on/off switch inside. If you ask me, the biggest improvement is the solid wood cabinet doors and drawers. Those butterfly Hoffman joints always cracked and the wallpaper covered composite doors and cabinets would always peel from the humidity. The larger 32 inch 12v TV/Radio is also a nice change. One more change I noticed. No more amber bug light. I guess they had to save money somewhere.

Thank you! We try and do the camper reviews from what we would like to know or the things we think about so appreciate the positive comment! Did not see the switch for the fridge - small addition that solves a problem we have seen people have an issue with. And we never noticed the lack of a bug light lol. Good catch! Agree on the cabinets - they were so much more substantial. Those, the receiver and the ac unit are the three “game changers”. Not easily upgraded on an older model. We really liked the upgrades. We have a 2022 E Pro 19FDS. We got it in October of 2022 and have had major issues with it since we brought it home. During manufacturing, someone left a handful of machine screws on top of the slideout. So as wd were traveling home with our camper, they were falling down into the slideout track. When we got home and was trying everything out, after a few tries of moving the slideout in and out, we heard this awful crunching sound. The screws had now made their way into the motors on each side and seized uo the slideout. The entire slideout had to be pulled off, replace bith motors and side tracks on the slideout before our first camping trip. We have had bath and kitchen faucets replaced due ti leaking from both. The handle for the dinette window crank was stripped so it wouldn't shut tight, and the cherry on top was the 1st time I took a shower in the camper. My husband was outside fishing at the time. I got out of the shower and stepped into a puddle a couple inches deep in the bathroom. Water was running into the kitchen, along the dinette and towards the door. I screamed for my husband. He turned off rhe water source (city hookup) and we had water pouring out of the back left corner of the camper. We had not even stayed one night. We found out that the pan under the shower was not sealed properly so it allowed the water leak. Now we have 3 bright yellow stains on our floor that won't come off, one of our batteries won't hold a charge, and the kitchen countertop has pulled away from both sides of the slideout walls. We want to be rid of this nightmare. The camper is sitting at Camping World right now, waiting it's turn to look at all of the issues: batteries, kitchen countetop, and yellow stains on the floor. They did tell us that if the stains were seeping up from underneath (they are), that they would have to replace our flooring. That means cutting the flooring out and around anything that is currently sitting on the floor and putting trim where new flooring is laid. I don't think that's acceptable for a 2022 Camper.

Personally prefer the FD model without the slide less to go wrong and you don’t have to worry about whether you left the slide out.The hitch receiver on the back is it’s use slightly restricted by the ladder?
@WinesPinesandCanines2 жыл бұрын
That is a good point on the slide. We haven’t had any issues with ours luckily but not everyone has the same experience! The FD does feel roomy, even without the slide and it takes the issue of the bed and bathroom not functioning out of the mix. Good question on the hitch. Do not believe it is restricted - ladder is up a little but would be something to double check! Thanks for watching!

Great video. I know I'm a little late to the game here since the 2024 models are coming out, but I just purchased a 2021 Geo Pro 19 FBS. I too need a trailer hitch for the same reason as yours. Do you know if there is a facory option trailer hitch that can be added to the older trailers (even if it has to be installed by a fabricator/welder)? Also I just purchase a 230ah LiFe battery that fits in the double battery box that came with the trailer. I'm looking for a flush mount MPPT charge controller. Sorry I rambled on with this comment. Just putting the info out there for everyone.
@WinesPinesandCanines Жыл бұрын
Hi! Congrats on the new camper - hopefully you are getting some trips in before the cold weather! So the trailer hitch - there isn’t a factory option and pretty sure it voids the warranty ( but not sure if that transfers to a second owner). But have seen quite a few people that have done it themselves or by a fabrication shop / welder. We have thought about it but our mechanic had reservations because of the frame. Ours though is a 2019 so your frame may be a bit different. 230ah should serve you well! But have not found a flush mount mppt. This is on our list of wants but would really like it to sit flush as well so haven’t yet made the swap from the pwm. Thanks for watching!

I have a 2021 GeoPro 19FBS and really like it, except for the AC unit. Will look into upgrading to one with the wall digital thermostat. The 19FDS is a pass for me as I don't care for a murphy bed, but I do like the rear receiver so I could bring along my bike. The microwave is a "no go" as well since I have 2 Labs and at that level could be a disaster when removing food! Love your videos of the different mods you have done. I did have a friend help me make shelves for the cabinet under the TV adding more storage. And will be upgrading the lights to the dimmable style.

Yes - that ac unit is challenging! We did cut a vent into ours and it helps with directing the air where you actually are but thinking we may upgrade to the bluetooth cover with the digital thermostat. I love you guys! First time I have heard to true difference between GeoPro and EPro. I already want to move up to a Microlite/Minilite just to get theater seating. Our biggest complaints with our 2021, other than Lippert, are that we want a bigger TV, and wished the A/C worked better directionally. I'm not surprised that Forest River understands what the customers want, and have built a more desirable 19FDS. Too bad that Forest River is under the control of Lippert.

Hi guys! Great review! Gotta say though we still love and prefer our G19FBS over the FDS. The upgrades across the 2023 line are sweet. More proof that Rockwood listens to their customers and makes good adjustments. The only thing we like more about the FDS is the larger bathroom. But since that’s where we spend the least amount of time it wasn’t enough to draw us in. You pointed out some real deal killers for us. I don’t like the appliances in the slide. It’s a lot of weight and sliding plumbing and electrical parts are a recipe for breaks. But not being able to drop the bed or go to the bathroom with the slide in? Uh uh. On that long trip we took out your way in May there were several travel days where we just couldn’t or didn’t want to put the slide out. And as you know, the FBS is very slide in friendly. No, I think we’ll just stick with our FBS. But it was fun going over the review with you. Keep ‘em coming!

Hi Lee! Thank you! And agree - the more we filmed the video, the more we liked the 19FBS floorplan but really do like a dinette and bigger bath lol. But that bed and slide issues - we would have to come up with some creative mods ! Agree on Forest River listening. I think this ticked off some big “wants” - think only dimmable lights are left! Curious to see what 2024 brings! Hope you guys are kicking off some great fall camping plans - safe travels out there!

Oh yeah, if I’m going to have a slide, it can’t get in the way of my use and enjoyment just because it’s in….but I have a 19bh so, not applicable to me, I guess. I LOVE the thermostat for the AC but currently I can just watch the temp on my furnace thermostat. And that does create an additional component that has to be kept from failing 😄 Nothing negative to say about those wood cabinets though 😍 I’d trade mine out in a heartbeat!
@WinesPinesandCanines2 жыл бұрын
Agree on the slide! Don’t want to have to work around it lol. For the thermostat - being able to set the temperature and have the ac cut off at that temperature - that was a big upgrade for us! And definitely the wood cabinets! Thanks for watching!

Interesting, but I think I still prefer my 19QB. That full size bed is a non-starter, and I agree about the bathroom accessibility while traveling. The rear receiver is interesting, but I probably wouldn't make much use of it with the way I use mine. I can see it being a clearance problem off-road. I do like the larger 12v refrigerators they're using now. I *might* be able to retrofit mine with one, but I'd lose some storage space (and they're pretty expensive). How's Desi doing? You guys getting ready for some fall trips? I'm about 10 days from leaving for Telluride.
@WinesPinesandCanines2 жыл бұрын
We really like the floor-plan of the 19QB. We never were able to see one in person unfortunately. And agree - the full bed was the one thing we weren’t sure how to mod to make it work for us. Good point on the hitch - think it would be ok offroad but depending on what someone is placing on it - that might be an issue. For us - it would be the ebikes. No where else we can easily store them. Too tall to go under the tonneau cover unfortunately. One day when the fridge goes or we run out of things to do in the camper haha, we would like to switch out the fridge as well. Watched a video of someone doing it (not a GeoPro) and it seemed straightforward. Desi is doing pretty good. He just had a shot of a monthly medication that he now has to take. As long as he handles that well - he gets two weeks off from the vet. Which he is very excited about. We take him back to cardiologist in Nov. assuming he does ok until then. Will know more then of his prognosis but so far he has been a trooper. Just gets tired much quicker and doesn’t handle the heat/humidity. Assuming he does ok - we are hoping to take some time in October to head north for a bit to do some leaf peeping. Please let us know how the concert goes - very jealous!

Nice and great vids! We have the 2021 epro fbs. We love it other than the fact it has a 12v frig and no propane option and the queen We have to crawl over each other to get out of. Who ever designed it never boondocked, 12v frig doesn't cut it. Those are 2 things we will change in the next camper!!! Probably the 26rbws flagstaff next, so many better options. Just our opinion.
@WinesPinesandCanines2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Much appreciated! That 12V - we have always wondered on it. We have finally got our propane fridge down we think. Vegetables aren’t freezing and it stays between 34 and 38. But it would be nice to turn on when traveling and when we aren’t 100% level. But agree - it does take much more battery! On the bed - have you seen our video where we do a quick mod at night to sleep north/south - effectively making it a king? It takes just a few minutes and has worked great for the 3 1/2 years we have owned it. But agree - the flagstaffs are a nice upgrade!

Hey! I’m making my first camper purchase. I was looking at the 2023 e-pro 19FBS. This seems like a large camper so I’m just not sure my new vehicle can tow it or maybe I’m just underestimating my vehicle’s ability. My vehicle is the 2023 Honda Passport, V6 engine and I was told can tow 5000lbs. I’m just not sure 🤷🏻♀️ but I really love this camper. Any suggestions or recommendations is much appreciated.
@WinesPinesandCanines Жыл бұрын
Hi! Sorry it took a bit to get back to you! Taking some time off for the holidays and family. So the biggest issue with the smaller tow vehicles is tongue weight and payload capacity of the tow vehicle. Would definitely do some research on those. And, would recommend (if on Facebook) joining the Rockwood GeoPro and Flagstaff Epro Owners Group. Somebody there may have the same set up. And, you may be able to find an online forum for the Passport and ask the question to other owners to get some real world examples. We did have a Tundra that had a 5300 lb capacity that we sold to buy our current one (10,000 lb capacity). It did pull fine on flat roads/slight hills but as we wanted to take it out west with high elevations, we decided to upgrade. Hope that helps! And let us know what you decide! Thanks for watching!

@@WinesPinesandCanines We decided to go with the Nissan Pathfinder instead. We’re getting the Premium package on the SL model that is supposed to tow 6000 lbs and tongue weight of 600 lbs. I don’t know exactly what the payload is yet but I’m not planning on overloading it either. We also decided on the inTech Sol Horizon for the camper.
@WinesPinesandCanines Жыл бұрын
Sounds like the Pathfinder will give you a bit more towing capacity so that is always good. And had to look up the Sol - really like it! Some great features and very unique looking. Let us know how it does. Happy Camping!

If I was choosing between yours and this one, I'd choose yours. Mostly because I would never buy one with the kitchen in the slide. It just seems like a lot of weight to put on the mechanism, plus I'd always be worried about getting kinks in the plumbing, wiring, or gas lines. LOL! But I do prefer the murphy bed and the dinette over the couch and the fixed bed.
@WinesPinesandCanines2 жыл бұрын
Hi! We like ours as well but it would be nice sometimes to have the dinette and couch! But good point on the plumbing and weight. Not sure how they have it routed - something to investigate next time! Thanks for watching!

We own the 2022 19 FDS. The hoses, wiring, etc. All move together in one big "box". So the hoses are not stationary white the appliances move in the slideout. It all moves together on a platform, if that makes sense. And we love having the dinette. Not everyone likes them but we eat at our and play games at night. Plus it's a twin bed too.

I just purchased a 2023 geo pro 19FDS today. Will pick the trailer up on 9/12/2022. I noticed my Geo pro 19FDS has different interior colors then the 2023 E-pro 19FDS in the video. Does the new Geo-pro come with the 30amp power cord? Does it come with a hose for draining the black water tank?
@WinesPinesandCanines2 жыл бұрын
Congrats on the new camper! Only a few more days! The campers usually have some changes between the first of the year and later in the year. So depends on when the camper was built - might be slightly different. Ours did come with a power cord but not the sewer hose. We really like our Camco Rhinoflex (just fits into our sewer carrier underneath) that we have listed in the description. Have been using the same one for about 3 years now and no issues. Thanks for watching!

@@WinesPinesandCanines Look at 11:06 in your video, where you move the bathroom door. You can see the sticker on the converter that says "Auto Detect: Lead Acid--Lithium"

We have a 2022 and it does not have the lithium converter. I think they used up all the non lithium ones first and then switched to the lithium compatible ones.

@ David Shoemaker We have seen differences within the same year as well. The 2022.5 (each year actually) will have some upgrades the campers from the first half of the year won’t have. But lately, just as likely that supply issues were an issue!
@Atlyazzymar Жыл бұрын
Why are the prices. Of this things??
@Neenerella3332 жыл бұрын
Ugh. Why add weight to make a cabinet door over a closed in plumbing panel? I wish there was access to plumbing, for leak inspection, repairs etc. Our 2022 19bh makes all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing access difficult. This doesn't solve much of that. It would be great if some those extra storage areas doubled as access.
@WinesPinesandCanines2 жыл бұрын
Lol - it’s like surprise - you thought there was some storage! But the panel behind the door can easily be removed to access the plumbing and actually one of the storage compartments backs up to it as well - so it can be accessed from both sides! Haven’t seen that before and definitely not that way in ours! Hope you are doing well! Thanks for the watch as always!
@joahetchells326 Жыл бұрын
Prices would be helpful other wise very informative. 😅
@WinesPinesandCanines Жыл бұрын
Thank you! So on the pricing - many dealers are just listing msrp (or were when we did this - not sure any longer lol) and then negotiating. Or some dealers have fees and others don't. And depending on where you live, freight etc factor in so would be different around the country so we didn't want to confuse viewers by saying a price and it be completely different than what they see in their area. But, in the future, we will probably give a disclaimer as to some ways to determine pricing so thanks for the comment!
