@@madkoala2130my main strat on a run through DS3 meant I went and killed Friede ASAP, at around soul level 14. Getting to dlc ASAP, and completing it early can reap insane rewards for later main game stuff, enhancing your main game experience.

While it’s still possible to find invasions, the real issue here is the mismatched rune and weapon levels / how few areas you’ve opened. You were at rl31 and +6 somber (+15 normal) after radahn. It’s best practice to match these levels while invading to insure the greatest amount of activity. It’s confusing, I know, but the invasion community has done a lot of testing/theory crafting when it comes to making these matches and this is all determined by what you can expect the average host players’ rune level and weapon level to be during various parts of the game. When searching for an invasion the game takes 3 factors into play: your rune level, your highest weapon level, and what areas you’ve unlocked. At level 31 +6 you can invade players between rl 28-54 and weapon level (10-20 normal) (5-8 somber). In order to maximize your likelihood of finding an invasion at rune level 31 you would need to unlock most of limgrave/weeping peninsula, stormviel, and parts of liurnia and I wouldn’t recommend leveling your weapon past +3 somber. All this to say, doing the npc invasion in Altus plateau is almost always going to be faster.

I have a suggestion to save time on the radahn fight. When he does flys up to do the meteor attack, ride over to the cliffs on the beach. If you stand close to the edge he will meteor into the cliff, fall into the water and die. Saving you from doing phase 2

Man, I remember after finishing my first playthrough and finding out you could fight Mohg before Leyndell. The idea of Radahn and Mohg as your first two shardbearers sounded ludicrous to me. Now that is the exact requirement for getting to the DLC

Radahn continuing to shoot arrows when he reloads is if you are sprinting on torrent when he loads in. You have to go at a regular speed until he puts his bow away.

Does the Roundtable Hold not get invaded if you immediately go to Altus after getting both halves of the medallion? Or does that invasion not get triggered if you don't talk to Gideon?

That Radahn Statue skip is really nice. I just thought that another reason to grab the Old Altus Tunnel grace was to start the Festival. I also don't know if I've ever gotten the grace you use for warping to the Rose Church lol

The festival actually doesnt have to be started for the radahn tp to be active, I tested that.

Been working on the same thing, but I want to experience the main game, with the new dlc weapons as my main weapons, so I’ve been trying to spawn in as a samurai, rush Caelid, get to the duo, beat the duo, then deal with Radahn (no lvl, no weapon upgrades). So far my attempts have resulted in near victory against the duo. Still attempting it for a set up save.

I will warn you already, but killing the duo does not start the festival, youll have to do rannis questline or what I did here

You could actually just use the teleport at the place where you get the mix flask in order to get medallion and Radhan fight

is radahn required? there is a way to get to mohgwyn palace without him if you do varre's questline. there is also a currently unpatched way to kill mohg if you exit save in his boss room and then reload and jump out of the map and then off a cliff and it will kill him and many other enemies in the area as well

Radahn is not required, talk to varre, defeat rennala, go to round table, get the audience with the two fingers, find varre in liurnia to start his quest, get the dectus medallion,go to altus, kill the npc called magnus, is near the boss sanguine noble, you have to invade magnus, you can do it offline. After that, go back to varre, talk to him , he will ask you for the blood of a finger maiden, look for vyke in liurnia, defeat him, go to the church behind where he spawned, there is a maiden, get the blood, go back to varre to end the quest, get the moghwyn medallion, and travel to moghwyn's palace. I said he is not required to get there.

Yes mostly from playing randomizers tho. Blocking cancels the item pickup animation. So if you’re running and blocking you can more seemlessly pickup items

I imagine there is a lot of overlap in these fanbases so hope it's something you stick with in future (and manage to take advantage of the dlc hype 😉)

The Yura invasion at Raya Lucaria is easily the best option for Varré's questline, since you don't actually have to successfully kill the NPC's to do the questline, only participate in invasions IIRC. You can enter the invasion there and then just jump straight off the cliff repeatedly, and it should count for the questline. I have a feeling Limcube just wasn't aware of that method to do Varre's quest

I was not aware of this method at all since fextralive only mentions the magnus invasion as an offline option for quest progression. Im assuming the nerijus part of the quest has to be completed for him to be there? That would work pretty nicely, although radahn at +4 was pretty painful in comparison and youd have to get the key but it should easly save 5 minutes. Also do you have to kill Agheel for him to move?

@Limcube Yep, Agheel is completely optional for Yura's questline (and is also probably the most obtuse part of his quest to complete normally). You only need to do the Nerijus part of his quest and talk to him afterwards to get his summon sign to show up in Raya Lucaria. I would advise testing to see if it works though, since I'm only going off of my memory, and I annoyingly can't remember which specific video I watched that shows this trick (I'll keep digging tho) Oh, also, there is a somber 5 right in the room before you go to fight Radahn... not sure why you didn't grab that to get a +5 weapon at the very least

If you don’t get it first try you have to reload him by entering the arena and quitting out or it won’t work, also make sure your double jump goes towards southwest like in my video

Dont forget to pick up "White mask" before killing Mohg, otherwise Varre will not spawn anymore.

A new character can get you refreshed on things you didn’t do in your other playthru you can get through the game quickly and faster know that you know where most of thr stuff is. I’m sure the overwhelming majority that are doing this start have beating a couple bosses at least…. This is a prospective speed run strat to get get into the DLC with a new character/NG+X. I do hope we see some newbs try this on video then get rekt rofl let the tears overflow

I feel like playing Souls games is like the naturally evolution from playing Zelda games. I, as well started with Zelda and got burned out from the recent games and switched over to the Souls games. I can only recommend them to everyone who loves Zelda games and for the people who care about that part they even have lore that actually makes sense when you uncover it and isnt just put in as easter eggs.

I think Miyazaki has done an oopsie with this information. Why in the world do you need to defeat Radahn? How much sense does this make? You need one great ruin to do the whole Moogh palace questline. Radahn is not connected to this. Not lore or mechanic wise. Just defeat Godrick, get the audience at the two fingers and go to Moogh. Much faster. I could be wrong about this but to me this sounds absolutely nonsensical what Miyazaki said. You only need to defeat Radahn for the regular entrance to Mooghs palace. He might forgot about the Varre route in the interview

One thing I'll never get used to is the fact TotK straight up erases the continuity of BotW in the world. It's only been 5yrs and the remains of guardians are just gone and stuff. If the lore you read and dialogue to some extent didn't acknowledge some events, I'd believe it if someone told me BotW never happened.
