Zara Vibrant Leather & Mont BLanc Explorer are my favorite alternatives....CDIM opens harsh, can be polarizing, Zara opens with Bamboo & stays light and hits the smokey vibe nicely for warm weather....Granted, only get a few hours, but Zara smells fantastic. Milton Lloyd is another easy wear that is a lighter take, then London from English Laundry is kind of an interesting alternative.

I just blind bought this at TJ Maxx for $19.99 and it's definitely a lighter fruity take on aventus..... quality is pretty decent after initial alcohol smell. Smells very fruity bergamot at first then after 10 minutes you start getting a little smoke and musk. It's pretty similar to explorer but the opening is brighter because pink pepper isn't combining to make syrupy sweet like explorer opening ...it's more straight bergamot. But 3.4 oz for 20 bucks I'm very happy with the scent and quality, but longevity remains to be seen

Found this for $9.99 today at Burlington and had to scoop it up. I really enjoy it. Definitely get the incense pretty strong in the mid with the leather, makes it smell woody. Nice scent all around, but it isn’t very strong.
