When I realized the video was about civil war fabrics I almost stopped watching. I am Canadian and sort of thought these fabrics would be representative of war ; soldiers and parephanaelia(sp?). I am so glad I watched it to the end. The fabrics you showed were all so beautiful. This made me realize how negative my expectations were. Thank you for expanding my mind and perception about civil war fabrics❤️❤️

I’m not usually a big fan of Civil War prints but go for the brighter colors and modern prints. But the Civil War prints that you showed are beautiful! Might just have to give them a try. Loved the red/white(gray) and blue! Interesting how the different patterns change when you use different fabrics. Thanks for your help in choosing fabrics. It is not easy, especially for beginners. Thanks Donna for making it look easy!

Love your fabric choices. I know you’re a fan of green. Did they use green at that time? I have a friend, my daughter-in-laws mother, she loves green and I have yet to find anything green that looks like her style. Her home is subdued so I can’t go with wild. Pretty fabrics and so different from the brights I usually use. I like how you give the book name that each pattern is in but wish they were cross referenced on your website. If i find a pattern on the website that I like it would be helpful to have it listed right there with the pattern info which book it is in. If I like the pattern I am inclined to buy the book the pattern us in and not just the single pattern.

Hi! Civil War fabrics typically are designed in a way that calls back to older styles of that era. They are more traditional in nature and feature motifs in that time period. Quilts back then were also more scrappy as quilters used what they had, so sometimes you will also find fabrics that allude to that type of design.

Yes, A kit makes everything you see on the front of the quilt --top, border and binding. You add the backing and batting. Donna

Well Bummer! Sorry you didn't get what you wanted! We have become a rather popular quilting shop, and we are trying to remedy the issue of quickly selling out of our kits. We have doubled our ordering in an effort to meet the desires of our customers. However, our suppliers are still having supply issues with getting merchandise into the united states.
