These look so much more thoughtful and luxurious than the Dior or Chanel singles. For the prices that all three brands are charging, it seems like CDP is the winner!

Hi Jennifer ! Thank you for featuring these CdP solo eyeshadows. I appreciate the swatches and the two different eye looks. I wish there were more shades to choose from. I also appreciate your comparison with the new Chanel single shadows, both in terms of cost (per weight - what a surprise !! ) and in terms of finish selection. I have purchased most of the new Chanel singles and, IMO, the only redeeming feature of Chanel’s talc-free reformulation is that all the shades are daytime appropriate (as even the most metallic shade is rather dull). (This is not against Chanel as all talc-free eyeshadows I have tried so far impart a dull and dusty appearance to the lids.) I really look forward to your upcoming multi-brand single eyeshadow comparison video - it should prove quite revealing ! Thanks again!

Hi Jennifer! I have several CdP quads and while I do enjoy them, I don’t feel that for the total price (shadows plus case) that they are any better or more special that Chanel shadows, the Byredo large palettes, Tom Ford’s Emerald Dusk palette, or even Natasha Denona, especially for a single shadow. I’m a bit agitated with these beauty brands constantly raising their prices, sometimes while even reducing the product amount. I’m not even mentioning Dior due to their unreliable quality and inconsistent customer service. I did enjoy your video as usual. The shadows are beautiful ( hence the conundrum) but I sure wish the case was at least included. Thanks again for keeping us informed on the newest beauty releases and trends!!😊 Susan

Oh my goodness. The Cle de peau , eyeshadow singles are my all time favorites. I've begun to declutter my collection, to keep only my favorite, curated collection. Feels so nice! Luxury... yes. Am I worth it? Is anyone? But do I have a great time playing with collection? You bet ya! When do they release a new collection ?🙏🏼👍🏼

Thank you for mentioning that lighter CDP shades exist, but are a little harder to find. I have been wanting to pick up a few CDP foundations but the lightest shade that is readily available is too dark for me. Same with Chanel. Luckily there are some brands that offer a greater shade range on both ends of the spectrum. My LE foundation is a good colour match actually, but I dont love the formulation. I actually love the Prada foundation. My all time favourites are Prescriptives (my perfect shade and formula) and the first gen Sisley cushion which has been discontinued. I am thankful that there are so many brands these days and that there is something for everyone.

Looking forward to your comparison review! Would love to see your comparisons of the Lilac single eyeshadows from Chanel, CdP (solo shade as well as the Purple twilight quad) and any other similar shades in your collection. Thanks for all you do ❤

I really enjoy CDP eyeshadows. I find I don’t really need the cases as the plastic container it comes in works for me. Do you know when these are coming to the US? Thank you and have a nice day

Hi Jen, Regarding the price comparison it’s the same thing with Chanel vs Hermes eyeshadows. Hermes eyeshadows are more expensive but they are refillable and the price for a refill from Hermes is similar with a Chanel quad with the mention that Chanel quads have 2g of product and Hermes 3g. Same with the blushes. How do you compare the pigmentation level between Chanel quads and Cle de Peau quads? I am not keen with the colours of these single eyeshadows. I think the quads are more interesting. Thanks for sharing! 🙂

Hi Jennifer. I am planning to pick up these solo shadows. I emailed CDP a few weeks ago to ask about the formulation and they told me that the solos are like a hybrid of the primer shades and the regular shades from the new quads. I just can't seem to understand why CDP released these single shadows so soon after releasing so many quads in the new formulation. I don't really understand the need they are filling because similar shades exist in the quads. The only thing I can think is that they assume the solos will sell because their competitors have also released new singles in the recent past.

What a wonderful video Jennifer! Thank You! I love both looks, but warm looks absolutely stunning on you. I was actually trying to understand which of three colours most contributed in this elegant and sophisticated look. I wonder how warm colours compare to CDP quads colours.

How does the lilac compare with the Chantecaille turtle palette that came out for spring? I absolutely love those and these are giving a similar look which is really pretty.

I love the CDP quads I own 5 of them and still have 2 more on my list , they are my favorite thing to use they are the easiest fastest most flattering shadows so I definitely want to try the singles in the purple and brown maybe the blue. I hope they add more shades to the singles and the quads. The case was 29 on Harrods last time I checked so basically 60$ single shadow with the case .

A great review;, thank you ! I use both - quads and solo shadows and I don’t know how, but I feel solo shadows are not exactly the same as primers in quads. They are very similar, but somewhat different, though very soft and sheer, I think the primes are even softer. So at first I was a bit disappointed and I needed to find the right brush for them after a couple of months - I can say, I really really like them however the sheer once are best applied with finger. In my opinion. Again, great review and ( unfortunately ;) I am now tempted to buy a lilac one, which I do not have :)

These colors look much nicer than the Chanel and Dior which I passed on all. I would buy these but refuse to buy products when the brand makes you pay good money for a cheap plastic case most likely made in China.

To add snark, I don't think most YT creators are smart enough to see the organization of these shades, light, med and rich. This really is the decision point that helps in not buying all of them, because a sheer peach is a sheer peach, even if the tone isn't quite the same. Thanks! 👌 For my oily lids, the difference between luxury brand satins and cheaper brands is how they fade over time. Eyeshadow is going to fade in X hours on oily lids, no matter what, the longevity is the same, but how does it LOOK when fading? Well, the luxury satin fades evenly and looks like a dewy sheer watercolor wash. Cheaper brands fade patchy, some will crease all the pigment and just leave bits near the eyelashes.

Allison Chase compared the weights of the Chanel eyeshadow singles and found that the different finishes are actually different weights. I think they vary from approximately 1.6 - 2.2…something like that.
