Crims racing cars. Scump doing watch parties. Nade is winning ring/majors as an owner. Clay is fighting for T8. FormaL winning rings in Halo. And we might get Damon coaching for the green wall. What a scene!

For all of us that’s been watching since day 1 have always supported Optic because of the cool personalities like Seth, Nade, Hecz. Now I’m an even bigger fan and supporter of Optic because of how much effort you guys put into keeping this esport alive and making it The most popular esport in the US. I wish so much that there was more that we( the day 1 supporters) could do to help bring more value to all of this to make it a top esport in the world.

Honestly all we can do is talk about it. Just throw it up in a conversation and ask if your friends have ever watched it? Some of might and those will tell others possibly. There are hundreds of thousands of people who watch it.

I think Damon should come in as coach and simply touch nothing but control. Don't even talk to them about search or hp unless they ask. They clearly need control help right now though. I think this is the middle ground for his 2 scenarios/opinions
@jmin0511
@jmin0511 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I agree. Cause he did say that Optic is doing great right now and that he didn't want to potentially make them worse with such little time left in the season. But yeah, if he was to come in, I think it should only be for Control. Maybe S&D, but HP can be untouched forsure.
@Krems_
@Krems_ Жыл бұрын
I think he should just be in the conversations that the team would have in making plans and if he has an idea he can throw it out, it doesn’t HAVE to be used but it’s an extra mind that they can maybe use to think of a good strategy. I think damon would be a “soft coach” so to speak where it’s more like having a second opinion on things rather than having to follow a program and play in a box

The CDL vs pre CDL I think a good comparison is NBA playoffs vs NCAA Tournament format. I love march madness and that there are so many teams and optimism for the unknown, yea sure more than likely the blue bloods win the championship but it allows for the Cinderella story.

I remember meeting David Vonderhaar (or however you spell it) at AW champs, he would ask EVERY person who wanted to talk to him for feedback and TRULY listened. In general cod esports would just be thriving if franchising wasn’t a thing. I think when you factor in the fact that events just don’t resemble anything of old, the formats are completely changed to the point where it just feels more boring and stale. All that factoring in it just makes the games worse on honestly. But I do agree I think it might’ve made watching this esport tolerable. We had a game like infinite warfare before which in general was terrible but watching it through esports was fun.

I think we need to think of it this way, for example: Someone might call MW2 their first COD, meanwhile they casually played WAW at a friend's house (or whatever else) but didn't care to commit to the grind yet. Everyone's first COD is a HUGE learning experience. You're understanding the entire concept of COD, and every COD after that reinforces or expands your current understanding of what "COD" is. All your favorite features add to your expectations moving forward. Like "yep, THIS game is Call of Duty". Some of us have 2 DECADES worth of Call of Duty's under our belts. Meanwhile, the younger generation might've only started during MW2019 - A few pivotal year in COD mechanics. Their first experience of the capacity for a first-person shooter is so much different than ours. Their understanding and expectations are - for better or worse - not as aged as us Oldheads. Trickshotting/sniping is a great example of a popular niche that has transformed completely over time. There used be somewhat universal "standards" for clips, that aren't enforced to the same degree. a MF could 360 and get 1M views on TikTok.

As a man who grew up with separate households between his parents I can say my mom was the nurturing caring one and my dad was the thick skinned strict parent who I never got along with…. And now that I’m 25 I get along with both parents but I find myself connecting to my dad more now that I’m older and he doesn’t treat me like some young kid anymore there’s that respect as adults. When Hector said he would be tougher on his son more than his daughter I felt my dad in there cuz seeing hom raise my younger sisters now he is such a softy and spoils them more than I think he did for me haha life is life tho🤙🏼

Hopefully you guys can read this comment, but imo when MW19 came out it was just before the Covid Pandemic and allot of people were searching for any wait out of the lonely life that lockdowns due to covid brought. This is why i think MW19 and fornite were so popular under the casual gamers like myself, it was more of a stress,anxiety and depression reliever where u could connect with your friends and family from all around the world and just play and chill while u in lockdown. I also think it attracted more fans because allot of older gamers that played BO 2 and other COD in the past came back to COD in the lockdown and this drove the people they know to buy the game to be able to hangout with them even people who never played cod. This point led to why MW 22 is so popular now because its like the 2nd part of the 1st COD that some people played and also the nostalgia of the covid times where u were chillin with your friends and family and having a good time. This is my opinion why although u guys didn't enjoy MW19 because of competitive reasons or personal reasons it has become a catalyst for a new generation of COD where new players enjoy the speed and movement more from mw19 going forward than the older generation. I must say i do enjoy both and the new and older games but there is a new generation of gamers that they have only played mw19 going forward and that activision can see they enjoy that movement.

As with so many other things in life, social media has amplified negativity 10x. Constantly hearing people hate the game, hate aspects of the game, hate the studio, all over twitch, youtube, and twitter sure makes it a whole lot easier for me to complain and hate stuff too. Back in the days of cod4 and mw2 the only opinions you had were that of you and your buddies, there wasnt varying opinions and negativity echoing across social media by millions. Also, I think we underestimate the fact that people who didnt play or view the game competitively, and/or was never around for the "good ol days" of cod 4, mw2,mw3, bo1, really dont grasp the contrast of how great it was in its time, compared to todays game in their time.

I think the league should maybe shift towards how valorant does their league. Not having the regionalization factor but certain teams make the main league whether thats a buy in or application process would work a whole lot better I think. This way you get to keep the house hold names like OpTic, Faze, 100T, luminosity, C9 ect and any other relevant names from the cod scene would play in the challengers league. For the events I think bidding or application system where the teams in the main league all participate to get a limited spot at hosting a event. we need the household names back in cod.

All OpTIc need is a guiding voice for Control, you can't just watch vod and counter other teams in control in this game. You need someone like Damon to develop plays that others try to counter. Especially with how you can manipulate spawns, abuse power spots and learn timings in this years CoD, Damon would evolve Control for not only OpTic but the rest of the CDL would be evolving to try catch up.
