Fun game! Looks like you missed an opportunity with Celestine. When she's leading a unit, the geminae also count as bodyguard, so you can take wounds on a geminae even before the zephyrim are dead. So in the turn where the zephyrim were shot to death, you could allocate wounds on the first geminae to use the 4+ invuln until she dies. That probably would have kept at least one of those zephyrim alive in that activation. Once the zephyrim are all dead, you can even start allocating wounds on Celestine while a geminae is still alive and that means Celestine gets a 4+ FNP.

Heh. Opened my Chaos book for the second time to check if there was any downsides to giving icons to Chosen or Possessed and of course there weren't. Need to remember them later on. Got even the Dread Talons box, but haven't yet built a single one of them. XD There's a good chance I even won't before Midsummer's Day. Buuuuut hopefully they've have had time to work on the tweaks to the codex by then. Like maybe even giving the jumpy lord access to Warptalon entourage... Hope springs eternal... Or "Live in Hope and die in Faith, said the tapeworm..." (In Finnish, both Toivo [Hope] and Usko [Faith] are men's names, so it's a tiny bit more okay-ish)

It's kinda weird at this point that you have even add them. They replace nothing, cost nothing and as of yet, there's no rules going against units having them, so... Why not just put the icon as base-ability? Sure there's the WYSIWYG-aspect, but still.

It's definitely the wysiwyg aspect that keeps it as a war gear option. They are focused on making a balanced game for competitive play, but they don't design everything with that solely in mind.

I mean, making it a automatic ability would make its inclusion more easier to manage point-vs-performance, not needing to take in account if someone wouldn't "want" it to be there. And only reason to not "want" it there is due to competetive play demanding it be there. Every narrative or casual player just says that "of course you have it there"... So while it is definitely due to competetive gaming, it's less balance issue. If it was that, it'd still carry the point cost for its added efficiency and not time/effort cost of sticking some sort of stick on one the possessed's head. 😋

Great stuff! Unfortunately abby chooses his aura in the command phase, meaning he cant do it from deep strike or inside a transport. Lovely models!

Actually he can do it from deepstrike. Not in a transport tho. Abilities are allowed if your in reserves. It's dumb. But it's legit

That was pretty brutal! I don't know what points you were using for the Sisters, but I don't think we can be too shocked if they go up quite a bit when the official points drop. Speaking of points, one blooper here which is worth pointing out: in a 2k game the maximum number of points you can have in Reserve is 500, which Abaddon and the Terminators exceed on their own!

The 500pt limit is Strategic Reserves specifically. But you can have up to 50% of your army (points or models whichever is less) in Reserve if they have special rules, like Deep Strike. It's confusing for sure!
