This is absolutely beautiful! Thanks to the power of KZbin and passionate New Colony Six fans who mentioned this song on other videos, I've discovered such a touching love song. New Colony Six was, obviously, very underrated. Sad, but true. Today's music just cannot compare to this!

Ron Rice was the New Colony Six. He was the driving force behind on all their great songs. How did this great love song not achieve more success?

Incredible!!! What a great love ballad. Ronnie Rice sure can sing!!!! This is a classic that did not get the recognition it deserves,

This tune needed to be released in late 60's. It would have been a HIT. I will always think of this group, and there are always things I can say about them. Really really great music. My favorite group from Chicago, period. Their harmony was just so good, made me weak in the knees when I listened to them. And I still have the 45 's with all the scratches. Love, love love this group!!

two years after I posted, concerning this song, I am once again back. Had this been released in 67 this would have been a monster for the group. However, in my mind it is a monster. Great harmony!! Great song.

@@Kitandrox Back again, this was wasted in 73 Six year to late. That harmony makes it one hell of an amazing song, probably my favorite by the group And as we all know they had two mammoth tunes out in the 60's, well this is just as good!!! Not too late to release it, what's out now??? needless to say just a bunch of crap!!
@christopherbawson54885 жыл бұрын
Just gets better the more I play it. Why oh why oh why did this not rocket to the top?? Or even a slow train to say number 5 Even six would have been good THis is one of the tunes that was just totally left out of play lists!!

This is my favorite New Colony Six tune, and I love EVERYTHING they put out. I listened to WLS late at night when I lived in Lexington, Mississippi. Thanks God WLS beamed South!

50,000 clear channel watts after sundown was heard in 48 states under certain atmospheric conditions. The other station on 890 kilocycles was a station in Colorado with a daytime license only. They had to go off the air at sundown so WLS could dominate the airwaves. I've been told that it could be heard in the mountains of Alaska when the weather was right, but I've never heard anybody who was able to tune it in.

Number 93!?! Number 93!?! God, what an absolute insult for such a beautiful, heart felt song! I never knew about this one until a few years ago. Just as beautiful as a lot of their other songs. A very underrated group who were one of the best from Chicago. And 14 'unhappy'? . Wow, you bunch have to have a serious return to a ' Real music' appreciation course. Thank You NC6. From a 'Great music' lover.

Great song. Growing up, it felt awesome to have 'our bands' on the radio...New Colony Six, Buckinghams, Cryan Shames, Ides of March, Shadows of Knight and more. I was too young to go to clubs, even the teen clubs of the day, but there was still WLS and WCFL and the jocks who supported the local groups.

I heard the Master of Musical Messages on the Steve & Johnnie show sing this song. He sang it with just a guitar and slower with more feeling. The message was very clear, the music fit the words, and that one performance showed how Ronnie Rice is a master!!! I wish he would record it again.

Making it in Los Angeles 40 years ago and more is just as difficult if not more so being 40 years older and rents have pole vaulted what the living wage should be, cause even $20 an hour $800 a week $650 $2600 month that's what an average one bedroom rents at 2020..Studios are about $1500.
