Ed, you gotta check out the manga "Kenshirou ni yoroshiku." It's a ridiculous comedy manga from Jasmine Gyuh about a kid (who was obessed with Fist of the North Star) who grows up to be a master masseuse in order to do some Kenshiro pressure-point shit on a yakuza who messed up his life. Hilarious and messed up in the best way.

Dead Dead Demons is a particular favorite. Somehow reminds me of Jaime Hernandez. Discovered Asano via Manben as well. Big fan. The Shinichi Sakamoto one is another great episode.

Highly recommend checking into Shawn Kerri.. Huge artist in the LA Punk scene and a killer cartoonist. Jaime Hernandez even name dropped her in his shoot interview.

She drew the Circle Jerks logo/mascot and did a bunch of work in CarToons. It might have been mentioned in the Jaime interview, but no one seems to know her whereabouts for the last few decades

That "Eating Raul" comic is really awesome. One of the better movie adaptations one will come across. Paul Bartel is the Mastermind behind the Movie...if you can track down "Private Parts" from 1972 I'd recommend that too! Nice haul Ed, enjoy.

After watching your video I had to watch Eating Raoul, it was so damn good. I was happy to see one of my favorite b movie starlets Mary Woronov act in a movie with a good script.

Inio Asano's youtube (mostly streaming) has him working on that manga...sometimes he does minecraft streams with his assistant and if you follow the chat, there's someone kind enough to do some english translation of their conversations. They chatted about editors once that was pretty fascinating edit: I really like minecraft, so that pretty fun for me

Matsumoto! Viz did two volumes on an oversized format, and apparently it sold so poorly they stopped publishing it. I believe an English translation was digitally available only for iPad customers when the iPad was first introduced. A friend brought the rest of the Japanese versions back to the states for me about 5-6 years ago. Excited to finally read the entire series in English, although bummed about the small size. Would love to see you do a deep dive on Matsumoto, especially Ping Pong and No. 5.

I found a pretty lewd R. Crumb book when I was 4 or 5. I don't really remember all that much about the content. Just the Art style and maybe a scene in a doctors office.
