I'm glad Vosteed is making more knives with this lock, cause I honestly think it's the ideal version of button locks. You get the benefits of both a button lock and a liner lock, and they cover for each other's shortcomings; it makes for such a great system.

@@gaberoo9099 To the best of my knowledge, you have: the hedgehog (as seen in this vid) the rskaos, which is very expensive and comes in 2 blade shapes (a sheepsfoot cleaver style, sorta like the hedgehog, and also wharncliffe) the raccoon (you gotta be a little careful looking for this one, though, because vosteed makes a traditional button lock raccoon, a crossbar raccoon, _and_ a top liner button lock raccoon, lmao. As far as I'm aware, all of the top liner button lock raccoons are 14c28n, while the traditional buttons are nitro V, but still, I'd make sure you're looking at the right one) and they're making a new one, called the psyop, but it's not out yet as far as I'm aware.

I guess links aren't allowed? Just in case you don't get that reply, I wanted to let you know that if you go to vosteed's website and search for the raccoon, it'll specifically mention the lock type each of them comes with; the ones that list "top liner lock" are the ones you're after. 99% of other sites, like knifecenter or bladehq, don't mention the lock as a top liner lock, but the top liner lock raccoons look slightly different (for example, they have colored thumbstuds), so once you know what they look like, you should be able to pick them out of the crowd no matter where you prefer to buy them.

I don’t agree that it knocks the pants off but its not a bad knife and not too pricey. I still love my paramilitary 2 but I’ve been trying out new blades recently because why not!? Good review 😁

I agree. My Spyderco pm2 superior knife with a superior steel, S35VN. It is also made on Earth 🌎 in the USA. Why spend money on an inferior product that is made in China. Just spend the extra money, you won't regret it.

My blue corgi sheepsfoot arrives today, white corgi pup next week, and lets be real ill probably be ordering the SV35N model by the end of the month. Cannot deny that the hedgehog has caught my attention and the action looks good! How does the action compare with the corgi? Also a light sanding on the micarta makes for a great texture and removes the smooth feeling.

spyderco peaked in 2015 and for the last ten years they have been coasting. why not contoured plastic handles, why are they flats and square?? why not sell the mini wire pocket clip separately? why is there aftermarket products to improve the compression lock, why don’t they make it better?? like it is so un interesting of a lock that their patent ran out a couple years ago and nobody even bothered using it when everyone jumped on the axis lock as soon as the benchmade patent ran out. my maxamet manix 2 isn’t made to come apart…. like i have an exotic super steel with zero rust resistance and i can see pitting and i want to be able to clean it out but i cant or i will end up destroying the giant cheap flat square plastic handles. .. like a cheap blade would fit that scenario but that was more than an extra $50

I’m definitely NOT a fan of button locks , nor s35v…it’s , only in my opinion, a good steel… I do prefer 14c28n or k390, but that’s a personal preference. Not to say I don’t absolutely love my recon1 in s35v, but the later steels are my favorite. The reason I dislike button locks, is that I have had multiple lock releases and a few cuts, so I don’t like them. This Vosteed button looks promising, it’s a cross between a compression and button lock…. So I might try it out. It’s how deep the button is in set and that it’s oval not round shaped, so that might deter lock releases.
