@1:44 -- Presonus' tutorial video about the mixer (Joe Gilder) shows him moving each side of Dual Pan without Click+Hold+Drag, just dragging. Otherwise, great video as always.

So now Whats the difference between FX Channels and Bus Channels? In terms of functionality? Although, even if there is no functional difference, I think I like that they are separated for organization alone.

The channel panning is very nicely done. Overall, I feel Studio One has a long way to go with its GUI. The mixer channels display too much text that would be more usable as symbols or uniquely shaped/colored buttons. The Fader Flip functionality is needlessly complex, requiring way too much mouse movement. A list of choices to Flip is a pretty silly way to present the function. Since SO has decided to go all in on Mixer visuals, they should use modifier key clicks to enable any fader flip with a tap right on the control to flip. Way easier, way more mixer centric.

Are you suggesting that you would do all your video editing in Studio One? That’s not what it’s for. So obviously keep using Davinci. But for your soundtracks? Absolutely use SO. This new video feature just makes it easier. (The old way was an external player with separate audio track put into your timeline.) As for the filter? Yes it’s great. But it’s not the only additional feature. So I think you have to look at all the other features to see if it’s something you want as well. As a user version 5 pro, I like all the new stuff. I think it’s worth 150 bucks. And I have a feeling, there’s a few more coming in minor updates so it will be worth it, IMHO

The work flow enhancements are nice. Customization is important, being able to work the way you want is certainly worth the update price. Plug in updates are very good. If you have a dynamic eq already you might find it redundant but this may be a great low cpu option compared to the one you have.

I like S1 so much but in S1 v.6 I have a problem with volume and panning channel indicator (blu line). No matter which mode is chosen, balance, dual or binaural. It displays incorrect info. When I make hard panning left or right indicator doesn't make any changes. And it displays incorrect level and panning. Do you have same problem or not? Thank you for your attention.

Marcus, because of you i made a move toward switching from Pro Tools to SO, great DAW btw, but this update is disappointing at least for me as a mixer, i see these improvement are made more for producers. Still no solution for iZotope RX users by allowing to "edit with external editor" , a very small feature that can save me tens of unnecessary clicks and workaround which became a pain in the a$$

My mixing templates that I created in Pro 5 didn't show up in the upgrade to Pro 6. Any tips on how to get them into Pro 6? Also once the upgrade from 5 to 6 is complete will it be OK to go into my C:// drive and delete all studio one pro 5 files to clean up some hard ware space?

studio one 5 to 6 was not a big update. The Midi could be better in Studio One.

Famous last words, "what users have been requesting". Studio One is good, but there it ends. As a starter DAW its great for learning but once you get past the learning curve you want more and its just not there in Studio One. Most people use large 4k screens now, Studio One is like playing with 1080i no high res support. Studio One is great for music but when it comes to creators content there is no surround support? Seriously, this is 2022 and still no surround support, Studio One is still playing catch up on what other DAWs offer and is still behind the competition and until Surround is supported as a feature it can never be could never be and will never be a serious DAW for many people it lacks one critical MISSING feature SURROUND

The console needs keyboard shortcuts for the filter options in the channel list. Currently you have to use the mouse to show/hide the Audio, Midi, FX, Bus, VCA and AUX tracks

I would also like to know this and any other improvements when using using a faderport 8/16. Currently the screen does not automatically mirror the channel selection through Faderport at all times S1 v5).
