Thanks for playing Gab! Sadly this version (didn't notice till today) build had some missing content due to a bug. So you missed a Error code call, a countdown on the radio as well as 2 notes and a couple of creepy moments, other than that it was all there. Still I'm glad to see you enjoyed it.

I used to work overnights as a gate guard at a papermill. This was 14 years ago so there were no real podcasts. We could listen to the radio and we could read until someone broke into some cars and one of the other guards missed it on the security cameras. Then it was 8 hours of staring at a bank of CRT video monitors. Yeah, it was mind-numbing did a lot of pacing around the security desk. The other place I worked security was at a lumber mill. That was more interesting. I had to patrol the grounds and inside the mill. So could go around and chat with the other people working sometimes. Actually enjoyed working there.

My boyfriend worked Security in a guard shack that looks identical to this game's rendition. He let truckers in and out, so all he really had to do was check their truck numbers and their IDs, put them down in the system, and then... nothingness. He got comments more than enough times from his workplace that "shouldn't be distracted" (by his phone, personal computer, books, etc.) because someone could "attempt to get in at any moment." Needless to say, when he was finally able to quit, he did so with a hop in his step. Worst company. They were told they weren't allowed in the building they were guarding for if there was a tornado. They would have to go across the street. They didn't even allow them access to a proper bathroom. Had to use a un down, janky port-a-potty where they didn't even have access to sanitizing wipes or water to wash their hands (even through the pandemic.) He attempted to contact OSHA about it and they told him it was "normal" for Security, so he didn't have grounds to complain. Not to mention the fact that they made him work 12-16h shifts for 6 months just before he quit, because they refused to fill their flex positions, and one of their guys had a heart attack on the job and WE had to save his life by calling 911 for him. Never work for Securitas, y'all. It's outrageous the things they're allowed to get away with.

I basically worked as a guard in a "haunted" factory. It was not really haunted of course, it was just old. Dated back to the 50s, and about half of it was ruined and no longer in use. The part that was still in use had automated heating. And that heating would automatically turn on at night. Which would cause the building to whale and creek in all kinds of creepy ways. When the wooden floor boards of the offices above heated up, it literally sounded like somebody was walking above. A lot of the guys did not want to work there, but i loved it. It was like a real life horror show. The ruined part was even worse. When you patrolled the perimeter, you had to cross the ruined part of the building. Which had no electricity any more and no lighting. So all you had was your own flashlight. It was also infested with rats. It did not even have CCTV. I was basically all lone there all night and had to patrol the perimeter often to know what was going on.

To answer your security questions, what you are allowed to do to pass time on post and or have depends on two things. Whoever the employer/entity is that is hiring you and the other being how sensitive whatever it is you are guarding. If you are security at an apartment complex most will allow cell phones, a radio, a small tv etc. If it's something highly sensitive, more times than not you have to get comfortable with staring at a monitor, walking a perimeter, and having nothing to do other than that but read the manual for your post.

I used to work security for a chem company and basically, we would stay on the computer, do our patrols & do other shift duties. There would sometimes be vehicle searches or extra lookouts if stuff happened but there was A LOT of downtime. In the downtime we could play music, go on the internet and chat if we had a partner, Some of us did schoolwork or watched movies. Not going to lie I have always thought up a horror game with security offices would be fun to make and play especially with the layouts of some of the areas we patrolled. Now I dispatch for security at night and sometimes my mind will still imagine horror scenarios that would be interesting to play in this setting.

Overnight security is one of those either absolutely nothing is happening or everything pops off. It can vary depending on what kind of post or detail you're working. Like overnight construction site or private business/ office security is usually very quiet but security in hospitals, hotels, motels, shopping centers or apartments can see random spikes in activity and incidents. It's doing rounds/patrols with a whole lot of nothing happening, doing what you can to not fall asleep and then occasionally something happens. Sometimes it's incident after incident. You never really know what to expect. For myself, I'll read if the post allows it or listen to pod casts or music. If it's a big property, I'll walk extra circles. I'm a patrol, so we drive around a lot but can get assigned to other details that have me sitting still for a long time. Some of those we can even watch videos or shows on our phones as long as we keep up with reports and set stuff down to pay attention when certain things happen, like some one entering a room etc.

"What's the radioactive stuff leaking from everything?" Geez, its like you weren't even paying attention! They _said_ its totally not radioactive earlier! Its just normal liquid. Normal green colored liquid that crackles when you go near it and totally doesn't cause symptoms related to radiation poisoning.😐 Also, their time zone clocks are messed up...only the hour hand is supposed to change, the minute hands are supposed to all be synched with very few exceptions. (weirdly, there are a few exceptions who are only off by a half hour from their neighboring time zones, very odd)

I used to work in a Domestic Violence Shelter overnight. We had safe hours, so no one was allowed in or out from the start of my shift until the end when I let my relief in. My duties were to mop the halls/do general cleaning in the common areas, check the fridge/freezer temps, take calls on the crisis call line, and keep an eye on cameras. It may sound like a lot, but cleaning only took a little over an hour at the larger shelter and only one or two real calls would come through, so I would be done with all my tasks within two hours of my 8+ hour shift. I watched A LOT of KZbin during that time, went through a lot of your Nancy Videos and HOBS so I could still focus on the cameras. I also knitted a lot to keep myself awake. I also brought in my own coffee maker and would drink a pot each night. I enjoyed the work, but when the threats started and I had an incident I made the choice to pursue other work.

So, I have never worked as private security, but I spent a few years in the Army, many, many guard shifts... and well... there is something that movies and tv just don't understand about security. If you have the responsibility to guard something, then you must also have the same clearance as is required to view the stuff you are guarding. You can't have guards that are not able to actually be around the stuff they are guarding, or just don't know about it, that leads to problems. The guards must have the same clearance that everyone else is required to have. As far as the long, lonely nights... well... people find lots of ways to fill the time, books, crosswords, adult activities involving their fellow guards... lots of ways.

Hey gab! I'd recommend playing coffee talk, it's a really relaxing game with multiple endings you can play through!

I'm not sure if you've seen her streams, but she has a game wheel she spins sometimes that will pick a random game on her list and Coffee Talk is one of them! So someday she will get to it, whenever the wheel picks it for her. :)

I used to be a security guard. When it was slow, I read a lot of books. Getting paid to read was alright. When Netflix came out, I started watching movies and tv at work. Management didn't care, because being awake and entertained was better than being asleep.

As someone that worked security booths. Where I was, what we can do is limited. You have to be careful about books, or movies, or anything that takes your eyes off your surroundings. Podcasts and audiobooks are usually ok, as long as you can still hear stuff around you...just depends on the post though

I worked a guardshack duty at an Amazon warehouse. For the longest time, I actually just brought my own laptop, played Overwatch and did shit. Then they got strict as hell about that, but I could still just watch YT all night.

I didn't work in a security booth but I did work in hotel management in a small town. If third shift called in it was either 2nd shift or management that had to cover lets just say pulling a double 2nd and night caused alot of tears. I passed the time through writing, reading, and cleaning not alot of stuff happened so you have to stay busy or you'll fall asleep. I hadn't discovered knitting yet so I didn't have that but boy night shift sucks never again.

Watched Manly playing, and really hoped you would too, but not only you played, you actually work to the company. So you gotta tell us what the other facilities do~ Anyways, it really is a great game, one of my favorites this year (along with the Mortuary Assistent), so thank you for playing. Also, a little sad you didn't read the character sheets in the 2nd tape.

I used to work at a security booth in a casino on a graveyard shift. We weren't allowed to do anything but staring at the cars coming towards us. We had a little more activity than this, but no books or anything. I would draw sometimes. And my coworkers would bring me coffee.

Definitely was not expecting more of this game, but I most certainly am enjoying it. It's really cool when developers come back to add onto their games like this.

Oh dear... I just realized that I may have missed 90% of the game somehow... this is awkward. I only have seen the area around the booth and always wondered if that is it already (and where the achievements and endings were meant to be unlocked). Then I saw this video and thought "oh cool, lets see if I can learn here what I was missing". Dang.

Idk if this is what the game's about but I love the idea of being a security guard working the front gates and being outside of, what sounds like, a scientific building while an experiment gone wrong happens on the inside but you can't see it, only the results on the outside

The levels viewed by playing the tapes remind me of Control or SCP Containment. Would love to see a full length version of these!

Fun note: In the "Stations" tape, when all but 1 phone disappears, the symbols above the last phone are Wingdings that spell out "S I R E N"

Let's put it this way... manager don't even know that there are some hours between 12:00 AM and 8:00 AM, and supervisor don't care, so there are people who play game, whatch youtube... sleep... so a lot of downtime, so as long thet you do your job... who cares!

I LOVED this game! Amazing in so many ways. I would love a tv series based on it. Reminded me of the Chernobyl incident and Beyond: Two Souls. The whole lab/science gone wrong, radioactivity, study of the supernatural, dangerous science. So cool!
