*addition to a Comment* Is there even a guild wars universe? In my opinion a lot of ridicules skins have kinda' muddied the water and killed the overall narrative of the guild wars universe. (police-car-rollerbeele-skin soon)

I am so much on board with this, some skins are a definitive mood killer.

"Gold per hour" is what boils down GW2 to. What makes me the most Gold per hour to convert it into Gems to buy the shiny stuff from the gem shop. That is basically all the communitiy cares for. It's great that this conversion exist, don't get me wrong, otherwise you'd have to swipe. But buying something from the gemshop doesn't feel as satisfying as unlocking it in the game via gameplay. I recently tried to get into GW2 again. And i loved the level experience. The Moment i hit 80 though? Let's say, i haven't logged back in to continue. Meanwhile in my Main-MMO i'm grinding some gatherer-achievements, because it will unlock stuff in the game. A rare Title, a shiny Tool or Pets and so on. There is a Mount that only the most dedicated Gatherers/Crafters will get and everybody that sees you on that mount, knows immediately what it took to get it, because it is that rare (under 1 % of the playerbase has it). Even those who don't do that content know. It feels so much better to finally get an item ingame than just converting currency into another currency to buy stuff.

Yeah I was kind of hoping Arenanet creates a cool Loot-System with the housing-System but it ended up being just a material dumpster... . A lot of people just stop at max. Level, most people so far have told me their main issue was that during the levelling phase there was a easy line to follow and at max. level they got hit with everything at once. Never played fractals, WvW, PvP, Raids, Dungeons, Meta trains, instanced or group content during levelling apart from random open world event. And the moment you hit 80 .. boom ... you need to know about everything. Where to get gear, how do I even join instanced content what the hell is quickness? and so on...

@relentlessnights421115 күн бұрын
@@LucashhLima as someone who does get legendaries most of them are a poor example. Yes, you can grind for it. However most require few achievements, mostly mats / cash. Legendaries are the way for dedicated gw2 players but sadly non of them were a drop from an activity or boss and aside from the first one, none have had an ahah feeling.
@relentlessnights421115 күн бұрын
@@snoozebutton9996 mostly true, to stop at 80 though! Wild, you should have at a minimum explored the fractals. WvW also opens up when level and gear options are maxed.

The issue with GW2 from my perspective is the class / buff / weapon / build system makes the skill floor really really low, at least with other MMOs if you at least press SOME buttons you'll do in the same ballpark as an optimised person, but in GW2 the difference is like 10 or 20 fold of difference, in addition there is no way to get better in game and you need to consult external resources to "git gud". Until they solve that, which I don't think they can, they can't make meaningful encounters in the game that people feel comfortable in participating in.

the pvp push mode to rejuvinate the spvp scene is really wierd choice as the main problem of the other spvp modes are still there, the knowledge you need about gw2s combat is just not easy enough to understand simply getting rid of how to rotate does not really change anything

@@relentlessnights4211 truee well spoken, I have that FOMO, like I wanna do this personally but I feel like I should do those other things instead but that "me problem" :D so I am enjoying it non the less Great question kind sir, my biggest problem for years was picking a main, to find an ultimate class to experience a huge bulk of the game. So now my progress is scattered across 7 characters. This year when I returned I decided to main revenant and do everything from beginning including world exploration etc. (even tho my gurdian and necro have 70% explored xd) So I am playing Revenant switching between Vidi and Herald. Mostly Cele for solo/open world and Power for anything else. The only competition to this mindset is currently Virtuoso, but only Virtuoso, so if they destroy the virtuoso I wont like other specs. While on Revenant l could play any elite spec. What about you tho kind sir?

@@vojinvmilojkovic7622 I dont think it is a you problem, games are designed this way, either way I understand the sentiment. ahh man, I was and essentially am in the same spot. I have played every class, very little on ele, ranger, and engi though just had to complete their pvp achieves. It is very annoying to come back want to play a new class or make a new character with the gem store upgrades for only a character and not the account. it has halted my play, bc making characters is beyone fun in the game, amazing wardrobe system!!! I my main specs would be guardians dragon hunter and support FB, a lot of warrior gaming all variants with the least being with the gunsaber, and probably the most fun gameplay being Reaper! it is thematically awesome, the animations are awesome, the heavy hits and bonuses for exucting below health threshold awesome! haha the combat and smooth gameplay kept me around for many years. I am now finishing up some diablo with a buddy and then want to get back an MMO, going to try ff14, looks good and tired of the gemstore game model. wish me luck or let me know if you decide to look for something else to do. are you going for any legendary or anything, i can check my account to help out. add me LXRELENTLESSXL.4156 msg me in game sometime

I am still not sure if anet tries to shift gw2 into a 'maintenance'-mode to put more development time into their new project. At least that would explain why some issues stay untouched. (However I still don't think Gw3 will be an mmorpg it would be kind of stupid and there is no way anet is able to develop a completely new mmorpg. Maybe something like monster hunter in the Guild wars universe.)

I honestly find the "pvp is toxic" excuse to be extremely ridiculous; as someone who has been playing MMORPGs for 20+ years i've still yet to find one where people don't insult each other during PVPs, is it ok to do it? No, that's dumb. Is it unavoidable and part of the competitive side of every MMO? Yes, it is and will always be. Just ignore the morons insulting and flaming and continue playing or block them; are people so sensitive now they can't handle some random brain dead idiot in the internet being an idiot?
@reburox14 күн бұрын
The issue with toxicity in Gw2 pvp is that the well is poisoned. The narrative of gw2 pvp is that every high ranked player is abusing the system by duo queuing at night which is true to an certain extent because you can easily manipulate matchmaking in gw2. And a lot of people start to become increasingly frustrated because you have basically zero control in ranked mainly because of that duo Q system and because the population is extremely low and the thing is if you have a few toxic people locked in a room with others, people start to poison themselves and it gets worse and worse and worse. As a dev team you have to do something however arenanet has decided to do nothing and now the worst thing has arrived in gw2 pvp ... nobody cares.

could you please speak louder in your microphone?
@jauari677616 күн бұрын
Have you tried turning up your volume mayhaps????
@reburox15 күн бұрын
yeah again the issue is a combination of two things the way I talk and my microphone I guess... at 5:20 you can hear a little bit how my mic goes into overdrive when I talk slightly louder.
@unskilled7715 күн бұрын
@@reburox it sounds like you speak with such a reduced volume because you are afraid you wake someone up who is sleeping in the same room😀 .tuning up the volume does not help a lot it is very uncomfortable to listen when your voice goes over to whisper several times. maybe it helps when you have more distance to the mic and speak louder? in this case the volume on the listeners end could help
@reburox15 күн бұрын
@@unskilled77 okay the main issue here is that you hate that way of talking. I encounter that a lot it is very often a 50/50 thing some people like listen to that, for example if I explain stuff during raids it calms everything down and people do mechanics more ...aware... I guess. However I also know that some people get really pissed listen to that because they get some sort of ptsd or something for example some people tent to talk in a very 'childish' way which results into 'kindergarten flashbacks' or another good example is the German 'th' (z or s) if you cant pronounce it correctly people get really pissed (germans mostly, because it results into a throwback to school where the English teacher always told you to do it correctly ). Another good example ... these videos where people eat a lot and make enhanced eating sounds directly into the microphone that makes me really mad.
