fun fact ! (moreso fun speculation), it's likely that the reason behind why the Polchageist line is convergent even though it is still tea (powder instead of the drink) could be because the cha and tea lines represent two unrelated types of ghosts ! Tea is a poltergeist, a spirit that took possession of an object, a ghost that is very tied to european myths, while Cha is a Tsukumogami, a object that suddenly gains life after it's hundredth anniversary !

Huh, I hadn’t considered that angle. My reasoning was always that each stage uses a different vessel from its counterpart: cup to pot with Tea VS pot to cup with Tcha, hence the Tcha line’s name flip between its stages as well.

I have an entire google doc consisting of a HUGE list of Ultra Space themed Pokemon, many of which are Convergent Evolutions or Regional Forms... Based on white chess pieces, from Ultra Temple). *- Nihilil [Poison/Rock]* (lil baby evolution of Nihilego, from Ultra Deep Sea). And those are only the regional variants and convergent evolutions... I have a ton of original species too (I also came up with the pre-evolutions, I just didn't want to list them all). I wish I could make a fan game about them, with a complete Pokedex of new Ultra Space Pokemon... But I have no idea how to code or make a fan game, so sharing my ideas is the next best thing.

I can’t explain how much I love the idea of a terrain equivalent to Castform! I’m surprised this is the first time I’ve seen the concept done whether it be a convergent, regional, or normal evolution.

Im pretty sure why the convergent mons dont necessarily share a type is that while they share a niche, they dont actually share environments (diglet with dirt and wiglet with sand, the jellyfish-alikes are foresty while actual tentacruel line is aquatic) - so Pokemon is likely following more of a "same job" rather than "similar environment" minddset

environments don't necessarily reflect what type a Pokémon should be, even to the point that not all aquatic Pokémon are or should be Water-type it also creates opportunity for more type diversity per environment which i always find fun ☆

If I recall correctly, n0Rtist was originally using Unity, but switched to Godot back when the Unity bullshit happened. (I don't recall the exact details anymore, but it was something about charging a developer every time the game was installed, even if the install wasn't connected to a purchase-so developers would be charged even if the game was released for free, when users uninstalled and reinstalled, when a user changed PCs, or when the game was pirated. I don't think it actually happened due to public outcry, but Unity lost a lot of trust.)

I feel like gamefreak is trying to get us comfortable with an alternate timeline/era dex. Like what if they bring a Legends game for gen 7 or 9 where *all* pokemon are ultra beasts, or paradox Pokémon and paradox evolutions. After all, in gen 7's dex, Poipole is claimed to be a starter in an alternate dimension.

There could be a divergent honedge line thats based on masquerade clothing? Make it the first non-mythical ghost and fighting type. I imagine flowing sleeves with no hands inside, spinning and doing acrobatics. It would have the same fabric design as what is on the honedge line's ribbons.

We have Annihilape, its rage too strong to be contained in Primeape's mortal coil any longer. As for the idea... would Game Freak create a convergent Pokemon out of a Pokemon that was introduced in Kalos? I imagine if we see any in Legends Z-A, they won't be based on any of the 450 ish seen in X/Y. Almost certainly not the roughly 150 of the Central Kalos Dex if the game is entirely set within Lumiose.

4:49 - I think for me this point makes the Poltchageist line he weakest of the three examples we have thus far on paper. Since going from black tea to matcha powder isn't anywhere near as drastic as a jellyfish becoming a mushroom. The only reason I can think of as to why this line wasn't just a regional form of Sinistea & Polteageist is because Kitakami as far as we know isn't connected to any pre-established Pokémon region.

Nortist, i have an idea for your next Legendary, the legendary would be based on the jacobs ladder, its a myth of a man throwing steel onto it and it disapeared like a portal! So he made a bigger one and he is a bout to tested himself but got arrested but he left and went inside and ever since then, there is no sight of him, but it was a theory, it was electricity so a intresting name is Electrotation Electricity and Teleportation.

Nothing was similar to what you, dear n0rtist, have choosen, besides toedscruel as Paldea + ground type, even the same placing! No evo+mono: kecleon No evo+dual type: sigyliph No evo+paldea: ogerpon End of evo+mono: darmanitan (standard) End of evo+dual type: chesnaught End of evo+paldea: revavroom Ground+mono: drillbur Ground+dual: nidoking Ground+paldea: (as I said) Toedscruel Yeah, first time, and I'm addicted to these. Ps: forgot to add. My first ever choice on site was kecleon, and as the icon near said, it was "shiny" does it have deeper meaning for being like that, or just a funny easter that you can get if you lucky? Ps...s: i guess I could get higher than "11 unique" (i guess that's place on some leaderboard for this specific puzzle) if i didn't choose toedscruel, he is 10% after all...oh wait, now I should watch video itself for longer than 5 seconds!

TERRAIN CASTFORM, YEAAAAAHHHHH ... ahem so I am actually working on my own creature collector as well, and it's derived from Castform, or more specifically, a terrain version. It was born of me wanting to give terrains a time in the spotlight and on a double battle "gimmick" where you could challenge the gym leaders to double battles with another leader, and the water and electric type teamed up to spam Electric terrain boosted Thunder in Rain. Nonetheless my terrain buddy went molecular, castform is also designed to resemble (badly) an H2O molecule, so I matched with another molecular compound, Ghraphene, Carbon is the main building block in organic life (and so the grassy terrain causes grass to bloom in it's head) and it is also a good conductor of energy (taking advantage of electric terrain). I never finished the psychic design as by then I had already split from pokemone but the fairy turned it into a diamond as fairy terrain is a defensive terrain and who says magic can't rearrange the molecules into a diamond. Now I have separated the game and need to design new equivalents, specially since I changed the weathers and terrains, but this just gave me another burst of inspiration, good luck :)

I think it would be interesting to see you make a video about Pokemon breeding. My explanation for egg groups and how different species interbreed is that all Pokemon are part of a large ring species (which allows for introgressive hybridization). Are you planning to have breeding mechanics for Stema. If so are they going to be sexually reproducing or asexually reproducing. If sexually reproducing will they be isogamous and with no distinct sexes or mating types, or will they be anisogamous? If anisogamous will they have only male and female, or will there be any intersex, or simultaneous hermaphrodites (producing both male and female gametes), or sequencial hermaphrodites (which change sex at different points in their life), or have a bunch of different mating types (like some slime molds)? I wish we had some Pokemon that changed sex or were both male and female (yes I know we have null/sexless). Also how would the sex determination system work, afterall not all sexually reproducing organism use the XY Chromosome system that mammals use (for example bees and alligators). Would Stema also have unusual sex ratios like some Pokemon, or would they be 50/50? If some Stema have unusual sex ratios is it due to hormones and complex sex determination systems, or behaviors that cause one sex to die out more quickly than the other, or is it because of a sex ratio distorter which is acting as a selfish genetic element in intragenomic conflict? Can Stema species only reproduce with the same species, or can they reproduce with closely related species, and if interbreeding is possible do they just inherit a species from one parent like in Pokemon, or do they show hybridization? How does horizontal gene transfer work for Stema? Can viruses carry genes from one Stema to another? Sorry about the barrage of questions.
