pokemon copied all its mechanics including immunities from shin megami tensei. immunities are healthy & make you strategize differently than just having one creature sweep everything forever... also why rebalance mods like compass for sc/vi are so much better than base game cuz they aren't scared of changing fights to make the opponent teams have something that they'll be immune to keeping you on ur toes.

Okay, so I have to agree that Gen 5 was where I lost interest in the games. But it wasn't solely Gen 5's fault. See, minus some special exceptions like humanoid variants and floating steel balls with magnet appendages with a single eyeball, I was able to suspend myself in these mysterious lands with mythical creatures that had learned to adapt to their local environments. I actually really appreicate the regional variance and divergent evolutions. They could be used to explain the humanoid pokemon and how humans could bear a common ancestor much like we do with the great apes. Seeing things like an animated ice cream cone or a living garbage bag is just dumb.

Honestly, I don't really like the fact that phazorm loses its gimmick upon evolving. I think plazorm should just be another form rather than an evolution

OH OH. I just thought of something: if you would like to revisit Dendro you might consider "Duff"? Or something to that affect... It doesn't solve all your queries, but it makes the type more widely applicable and not just plant related. The idea being that this is something (unlike metals or plastics or even fairies) that is defined by its relationship to the earth and returns to it. Decomposition but elemental and thematic. It would keep the 1 syllable PhD trend you have (which is great honestly) while also allowing stema who are fungi or more nature-y critters (like any earth worms or dermestid beetles) to also have a place. without being literal rock
@auxin903Күн бұрын
to clarify since it might not be a universal term: Duff typically refers to that part of a forest floor that isnt soil - but is the soft and broken down fragments of all leaves, sticks, insects, etc... and is home to a LOT of mycorrhizae

A gym leader idea I thought of. Gym leader #4-6. The Gym is a clinic or hospital. You go through each level or room and battle an Intern that has one of the evolutions (basing it off that each doctor specializes in a different medical field). The Gym leader is the head doctor and has all of the evolutions, after that battle they heal your Pokemon plus Badge.

An exclusive move for Stemoltl, would work like Tera Blast. Depending on evolution turns into physical or special attack. Physical can leave chip damage (muscle-burn) and Special can lower a stat (fat-reduce speed).

I appreciate you tying climate change into the end there. Also, maybe in the future, lower the audio in the background a bit? Or edit the audi waves so that your voice sits nicely right in the middle of the mix. Takes a little more effort but there are some good tutorials on it out there and it adds a lot to your video.

As a indie dev whos done a couple of jams and am going to be going to Full Sail next month, I love unique concepts like the STEM based stuff. Truly educational to the young ones and really fucking cool as a concept to us hoity toity who haven't seen someone well read write something since futurama.

3:20 Glad I'm not the only one who noticed GF's odd aversion to outright retcons. New Eeveelutions got progressively out there with evolution methods then in Gen 8 things were changed so Leafeon could be achieved with the Leaf Stone and Glaceon with the Ice Stone. A retcon had been committed...and no one minded.

Also I've always hated how the nidorans are different species with just ♂♀ in their names, when EVERY OTHER gender difference in pokemon is within the same species. Like the male and female Meowstic aren't different species.

One of the stemas you made (can't remember what video it's from) had a really cool ability called precision, that makes each use of the same attack more powerful, but when it evolves it loses that ability. I think it would be cool if you gave precision to a stema based on the fibbonaci sequence, since each attack adds on to the one before it, and so that it could be on a fully evolved guy

Heres an idea - there's a scrapped beta design for a Vulpix pre-evo. What if this baby Vulpix was able to evolve into Alolan-Vulpix based on location (or stone if you wanna be lazy)? Thats another way babies could be used - to connect regional evolutionary lines.

Love this. Two more simple ideas: 1. Give babies different abilities to give a reason to use them instead of their evolved form(s). The first babies in the TCG did this well enough. 2. Add an item similar to eviolite for babies only. A more complex idea: Introduce moves, items, and/or abilities that interact with whether a pokemon is or has been a baby. Similar to how some interact with gender now.

I’ve been thinking it would be cool to have a Pokémon game with a bunch of branched evolutions based on which EVs a Pokémon has accrued. Then I thought that might be stepping too much conceptually on the core premise of Digimon.

Omg! Tortdler is the perfect prevo! I often thought of how to make a prevo or evo for Torkoal, this is perfect! Your videos are overall so cute and I love that you do something with the premise of Pokemon, be it with your Stema project, your videos, or your topics. It's less dark and gloomy as other critical channels are while having just as much of an impact on the community and debate; maybe even more than many others, actually.💖

For a windchime pokemon it should be able to evolve in wind bassed weather (blizzard, sandstorm, maybe separate regular rain and typhoon weather) could be explained by some desire or advantage by it generating as much noise as possible so during the windy weather evolves the chimes

I have zero issue with object mon, although my favourite example of the trope doesn't come from Pokemon, but Casette Beasts - Love the Traffikrab line (which based on the lore, I think only Traffikrab itself is based on a hermit crab using a traffic cone for a shell, the rest seem to have fused with different road things in the evolution process)
