New Cover for the Hot Tub.

Finally, after putting it off for long enough, too long honestly, the hot tub gets a new cover on it.
It's needed a new one since about March of 2019, but due to it being hard to even find where to get one, and admittedly being lazy, I was just doing cheap-man's fixes since then. And even those weren't always good. I guess better late than never as they say.

303 is a bit on the expensive side, but it's a great product. I use it on my tires, and it significantly reduces UV damage. Nice job on with the measurements, that new cover looks great, and appears to fit nicely.

Yeah another friend told me about that too. Guess I will check it out. Thanks! When it went on the hot tub and I saw that fit, man did it make me proud of myself.

I'm surprised they didn't sell the cover made specifically for the unit, pre-made. Anyway, the careful measurements paid off. I just hope those hold-down straps will take the abuse, considering they are screwed into plastic. I do remember how waterlogged the old cover was, and the trouble it was getting it on and off from last time i was there. That was a hassle, and indeed it's going to be a lot easier. I see others have suggested 303 protectant. While it's probably good and will do the job, it's not cheap, and you have a lot of vinyl to cover. I have become increasingly more and more dissatisfied with the "leading national brand" of anything out there--you know this from the Burman's mayonnaise. So I'm going to suggest something others wouldn't have thought of. Mineral oil. Cheap and readily available. Will help keep the vinyl shiny and moisturized. The easiest and cheapest source of it, believe it or not, is baby oil. All that is, is mineral oil and fragrance. The fragrance will wear off soon after it's applied. Now, how long it will last as compared to 303, I don't know. It's just a cheap alternative that I think will give decent performance.

They may have at some point. But I had checked their website several times, and never worked out. The one I recently found was associated through Costco, and I know this is where the hot tub came from, so checked it out, and it was all good! Yeah good riddance to that water-logged cover. When others mentioned 303, I had a feeling you might chime in about that, heh. I'll see how it is price-wise, as well as the size of the container, and go from there. I figure maybe it would only need use twice a year if I get it. Burman's mayo, so glad I tried that. Definitely better stuff!

@@Sharkie626 303 would probably be fine then. Quick search revealed about 20 bucks, even if you use an entire bottle a year it's not much. I really do wonder how the mineral oil would do though.

Only one that comes to mind right away was 303 for protection for vinyl 🤔

Good memory! Yeah that was the very first time it happened. Didn't make that mistake again.
