If the drugstore products can incorporate skincare at 1/3 the price then why not. I would pay for this one because l get 2 or three of these vs 1 of the other. I have been using Jane Iredale liquid mineral but that has became expensive. I bought the cover girl one and l love it.

The doll 10 new tinted moisturizer is also like these. You can tell when you squirt it out. You have to swirl your brush in it to mix it up. It’s really pretty on the skin.

I have the Chanel, the Jane Iredale, Rose Inc, and Covergirl. I see a difference in how it feels and looks while applying them, but the results are pretty much the same, except the Chanel one has the least amount of coverage, I think. Compared to regular foundations, I think these are a gimmick. You would get the same results mixing foundation with a little serum or moisturizer, or even applying just a few drops of regular foundation with a damp sponge to moisturized skin.

Yeah, we will have to agree to disagree on that one. I have mixed foundations with moisturizers and applied with a damp sponge like you say to moisturized skin, and I still have never found one that looks like the jane iredale for me.

I throughly emulsify the Cover Girl one on my hand before applying, and have no streaking. The key is the. emulsifying process - then its lovely.

Thanks for the great review Mandy. I don’t have the Chanel or the Jane but I’ve tried the Chanel at Ulta. I bought the CG and there is a learning curve. I agree with you 100% that your skin must be well hydrated for it to work. It might work well on my skin as I have combo skin. For those with dry skin I think it would be a no. I am currently trying the CG with the Stila One Step Correct Brightening & Correcting Primer and they are great together. The Stila helps to bring down the redness I have with a very light veil of coverage. It’s a nice product. So the CG with the Stila underneath is really a nice combo.

TRUE! I have very dry skin, and the CG makes my skin look amazing! I put a light HA gel moisturizer on before applying. It evens out skin tone, doesn't settle into lines, or pores and lasts all day!

Hi Mandy, thank you for such a thorough and interesting review and comparison of the CoverGirl Essence pigment bead foundation. I tried the Jane Iredale. It's been so long ago that all I remember about it are the pigment beads, because theywere such a "new thing". Anyway, I love how you explain the ingredient list of each, the price/gram comparison, and the recommended percentage of bakuchiol in a product. I don't depend on the makeup for my skincare needs either, unless it's harmful or unethical. I want to try the CG Essence even more now after watching your video. Your comment about including a brush for the most $$ one, was really funny.😂. ❤️

The four or five reviews I’ve seen that suggest the CG is a dupe to the Chanel are based on use only of the CG product. The ones I’ve seen admit they don’t have the Chanel. That hasn’t made any sense at all to me. I really appreciate how thorough you were in this comparison video. It is much more convincing to me than others I’ve seen.

These products remind me of Erborian CC water gel. Erborian makeup is fantastic. Always a tube of their og CC cream in my makeup. U dont have to worry about shade matching. Their BB is a little heavier. I still haven't tried the Chantecaille gel but maybe someday.. that is on my dream list.

I feel that the CG one has more coverage as opposed to the Jane Iredale one. I have both and they both have skincare ingredients. Bakuchoil can be used with retinol as it doesn’t interfere with benefits. I use the same shade Light Medium as you but l am neutral with yellow undertones. Once applied it adapts to your skin tone and l love the glowy matte finish it provides. Thank you for this review.

Interesting! My HG is the Rose Inc tint serum but I’ve been looking for a dupe since it’s pricey & Rose Inc may be going out if business and/or rebranded. I just ordered the new CG shade 25 during the Cyber Monday sale on Amazon. Hoping it’s close enough to the Rose! I realize CG is a third of the price so I’m OK w it being less than Rose, but I don’t care for basic everyday use. We shall see!

I just saw you get commision from Jane, not from CG. The CG is an 'essence TINT, ' it's NOT a foundation, which is why it's so 'runny.' Also why coverage is so light. I don't know why it looks so shiny on you, it's not oily at all. Probably depends on your skin. My skin is dry, so I use a light HA gel moisturizer under it, and no shine. It takes a long time to set on my skin. Looks and feels better after about 15 minutes. Less shine, too, according to some people. It evens out skin tone, gives a little coverage. (You could use 2 coats, if need be ) That's all it's supposed to do. I don't use it alone, no powder or primer.

I see lots of banner ads on YT for this CG product. I can’t get over the ever-increasing drugstore prices. CG used to be cheap. A big reason for the price hikes is due to so many You Tubers promoting drugstore products imo. Even Elf’s prices are way too high now. Those skinny hoop earrings on you are very flattering. 🖤🩶
