That's so sweet you still talk to your Mom Lauren, I lost my dad 23 years ago in late Aug. My son was born 1 year almost to the day after he passed (son was born 8-20-02, dad passed 8-24-01). I too talk to my dad all the time, I can still hear his voice and see his expressions in my mind. I still believe I know how he would react to things or the advice he would give me since we were pretty darn close. He was a high school teacher and coach for 31 years so he just had a way with teenagers and was the best listener and advice giver I have ever known. My thoughts are, never stop talking to your Mom it keeps them present I feel so you can recall all of those things like their voice, facial expressions even advice. Bless your heart for keeping those things about your lovely Mom alive within you and your family. Much love to you my dear!

Lauren, I just watched you making up your bed with Pepe on it and it brought back so many memories of my precious BeauBeau who would do me the same way. He was 19 and left this past January. Hi Lauren! There's so much I want to be able to tell you about the joy and calm your videos bring to my life also that I'm so sorry for your loss. I never really comment, but I have to ask... why don't you make the formal living room into a full formal dining area the way you had in the vicotorian since you don't really use the space the way it is now? You can make your dining table the centerpiece and add additional things for entertaining. Anyway, I'm glad you're settling into this home and I wish you the best. ❤

I love that your humour is back in your videos, but don't let everyone (including your husband) overwork you/take you for granted. I'm your age and have lost both parents and share your pain...sometimes I go to call one of them and then remember. It doesn't get easier, just more normal in my experience. Hi Lauren. I'm in Mid-Missouri. They always say here that if you don't like the weather, wait a minute 😊 I do have to say though with the climate change last year and this year have been some of my favorite Falls in a very long time. We have some beautiful Fall day with a coolish breeze. Watching the trees and the leaves dance has become so calming for me which has really helped my anxiety. Thank you for helping too. Hearing your calm voice while you're doing a lot helps give me motivation.

Hey, Lauren...love, love fall here in central Nebraska but...Winder here are long and sometimes actually treacherous with ice and snow, so autumn is NOT long enough. Miss the Southern California weather. We lived in Sacramento when hubby went to UC Davis...many years ago. We had 5 children our 17 year old daughter with the Lord passed from a MVA a week before her HS graduation. Enjoy your videos.

I grew up and still live in south east Michigan. We used to get snow all the time on Halloween growing up, we’d have to wear full winter gear over our costume some years haha. Nowadays I’ve been able to wear jeans and a tshirt and sandals on Halloween and spend the whole evening outside with a bonfire. Winter used to be snow igloos that would last a month before melting. Now we usually only get two big snows that last about 5 days before melting. So weird! Winter is mostly rainy and dreary. Then in February it is wicked cold but not really much snow. Sometimes ice storms.

Hey Lauren, loved your tidy up video. I’ve been using the Pink Stuff for several years now. It’s works great on stainless steel sinks and porcelain too. That little Pepe is a cute little man. You might want to get him some fall and winter sweaters to keep warm. I am so with you on keeping your moms home private. It’s for you and her to decide what you want to show. I lost my mom in 2017 and Christmas and Thanksgiving are not the same. But we carry on.

I just finished watching your video…I’m originally from WI, born and raised and I remember when I was a little girl we would have a frosting of snow on the ground for Halloween or it would be pretty cold. My husband and I have four grown children, from 32 down to 24. One of our daughters and husband had twin girls five mos ago, so me and my husband and son moved to KY to be with them…I get to sit with them four days a week! Those precious little girls are just something else! We moved here last Dec so their version of cold isn’t quite like being up north; I like the snow, but not when the weather is 35 below. 😅. I’m sorry to hear that you lost your mom and whether it’s 1 year (for you) or 11 years (like me) there will always be some degree of sadness…you just find a new “normal” and keep talking to her! Thank you for bring us into your home and sharing your routine with us! 😊

Hi Lauren, I have a thought to make the front lounge more cosy and online with your style. I thought perhaps to roof ove the dining table with exposed beams (I know-shock horror to take a double height into a single level) but you would also gain the floor space upstairs that could be another useful home office or study space for your growing kids. Downstairs it would change the light, add architectural softness with bulky reclaimed beams and open to the sofa bed. But it would give both areas defined zones, cost it up and provide a formal dining space. The bottom doesn’t have to have walls, lovely post bad beam details even columns could support the top floor. Just another idea that I thought you’d enjoy. Oh..also it would link into the staircase design, an opportunity to build a new direction or landing and create it with the style and details you loved in your previous home.

I currently live in Arizona. It is cooled down a bit. We aren't in the 100s anymore. I'm hoping to move to Ohio before winter. I need declutter my christmas 🎄 decor. If we move I will have to find a Hobby Lobby for some new ones. I just cleaned my living room and kitchen. I have my room and laundry to fold, but I will do that later while watching The Chosen. My dad passed in 2017 and it is still very hard. It got harder after having my daughter in 2022. My two boys miss him too. Your home is beautiful.
