I think what makes it competitive is the AMS that can be used for it, it's more traditional. If Bambu wants to compete all they'd have to do is make a universal AMS for all the models
@DoveDesign3D
@DoveDesign3D 16 күн бұрын
True! That would be nice. One AMS system for all printers so there's no variations would be great.

The Creality Hi looks nice. Post K2 Plus, Creality has really risen to the challenge and is crushing it. I print functional parts so multi-color isn't as appealing to me even though it's a very popular segment of the market, but I'd like to use filament feeders to print different materials. The FlashForge AD5X in particular appeals to me. It's similar to the feeder on the Bambu A1 Mini but the four spools mount to the right of the open frame coreXY printer, and the FlashForge IFS can feed 95A durometer TPU. None of the other filament feeders can do that and that's huge for me. Unfortunately, the AD5X has been delayed for a month or two as they get it to poop TPU without clogging. I hope with all of the filament feeders flooding the market, slicers will do a better job with multi-filament printing. For most prints, we shouldn't need the material waste associated with a poop chute or purge tower. The slicer should figure out how to use the nozzle purge to print infill. Hopefully we get that in 2025.

That would be nice! And I'll have to check out the AD5X

I'd rather pay the extra $20 for the A1 Combo @ $489 now and have the complete Bambu ecosystem experience.

The complete Bambu ecosystem experience will no longer have room for many 3rd party services and improvements, according to Bambulab. They are really becoming the Apple of 3D printers, which is a selling point for some and a major detriment for others.

Held off buying Bambu A1 with AMS during the holidays. Problem printing with color is how much printer poop is wasted when changing color mid print.
@DoveDesign3D
@DoveDesign3D 16 күн бұрын
Soooo much poop! Luckily I haven’t had too many multicolor prints but the few I have done there’s been a lot of waste. Hopefully a better solution comes in the future. The P1S is still an excellent machine though
@livelaurent

That's not a problem, that's physics and how it works. Not to mention that 90% of the print it is people are too dumb to understand filament changes and how to optimize the layer for it. In short, there is no problem with the printer/AMS; it works as intended.

I am waiting for my p1s to arrive in a few weeks and was considering starting my own business. What are your upgrades for your printers?
@DoveDesign3D
@DoveDesign3D 16 күн бұрын
For my P1S I added a nozzle wiper that adapts the A1's silicone wiper so that the nozzle uses it during the startup gcode. It's pretty nice. For my K1 Max I've added a lid riser, a screen cover, a better filament spool holder and adjusted the bed screws.

There are almost as many of us who will never buy any Bambu Lab product because of their disrespect for customers' privacy and security with their strong coercion to use their cloud based print server, and the way they built their proprietary walled garden on top of a mountain of open source hardware and software.

@@McDowallManor Creality is making cheaper printers, BUT... it very often comes with problems. It can be small problems, but also problems which will affect print quality etc. In today's market, the leader is for sure Bambulab. Price is ok, quality is very high. Everything is automatic. Then ofcourse Prusa, but Prusa comes with higher price, tho the quality is also perfect. But we have to be fair and say, that Creality is nowadays much better then like 5 years ago. But it still have the problems.

With Bambulab seeming determined to piss off their core fans and brand advocates with the announced firmware lockdown, Creality may have a genuine chance if they don't keep this printer locked down like Bambu.

If it’s not enclosed, I don’t want it. I’m not interested in printing toys. I’m interested in printing structurally rigid parts, that perform a job. These printers are not good enough. They need to make something better for hobbyist. Until then, I’m done printing for now. I don’t want to print PLA. I want to print PEEK. Know of any printers available for this?
@DoveDesign3D
@DoveDesign3D 16 күн бұрын
Oof for PEEK I don't think there's anything reasonably priced for that type of material. I think anything sub $1000 is going to be geared toward hobbyist and prosumer.

@ yeah man. No doubt. I tried to turn a QIDI printer into a high temp machine. It worked alright…. But just couldn’t produce very high quality parts. Very disappointing. I really hope some big leaps are made in the 3D printing world! I want to manufacture good parts, but I’m not a rich man. Can’t afford the industrial printers yet /: good video though!!!
