I have the regular Subaru bars installed and I have a roof rack ordered. Someplace to carry my MaxTrax and shovel, etc. I like a roof rack to carry stuff but I'm cautious what I put up there.

Nice! A roof rack would be really nice to haul gear around for sure. If it wasn't for my bike racks I would definitely consider picking one up. Have a great weekend.

Hello Rick, these crossbars look nice. My car came with the Subaru crossbars. I have them off but they go on quick if I need them. In case I need them I can put them on that way I eliminate any additional noise that is why I took them off, especially since I have a moon roof. If I didn't already have them I would buy these!!!

Hi Rick always enjoy your videos on the Crosstrek always very detailed I’m in the UK so mine is the XV but the same year here in the UK it’s more of a loyalty following of Subarus I’m on my ninth along with my XV I also have a ten year old Forester I use to go on photo shoots. I’d like to know more about Subaru US are your Subarus built in the US for the US market. Thanks again Tony in Scotland

Hi Tony, thank you very much for you nice comment and glad to hear you are a Subaru fan as well. What kind of photography do you do? Looks like the Ascent, Impreza, Outback and Legacy are made here while the Crosstrek, SIA currently makes the all-new Ascent family hauler, Impreza sedan and 5-Door compact, Legacy sedan and 2020 but the Crosstrek, Forester, WRX, WRX STI, or BRZ are made in Japan. I remember back in 2011 when the earthquake many Subaru's were delayed coming over, but it was quite amazing how quickly they recovered.

@@AZdroptop hi Rick thanks for replying always wondered about Subaru’s in America seemed to be a few different models then we get here all of our vehicles of course come from the Japanese plant,engine sizes seem to be different as well in the US. as of photography mostly landscapes,seascapes. Hey Justin, in person they are pretty snug, might have been the camera angle. the hook does have some open space in the middle, but it is real tight along the bottom where it catches. Thanks so much for watching!

I bought the 50” Thule Evo wingbars and these look just like them. For the price you can’t beat this, the Thule locking set that you have to buy separately are around $50 alone. How have these bars worked with you bike rack compared to your other bars?

They fit well and sit solid on the bars and they are flat which is nice compared to the Subaru bars. They are very nice for the price.

Hi Rick, From a performance perspective is there any difference between the Limited, Premium, sport or the Hybread? I am the hills in the Santa Cruez mountains, and I am looking at the Subaru Crosstrek, I kinda like the Hybread technologies, and a way to generate energy when driving up and down the mountains.

Hi Dave, the biggest difference between the Limited and Sport compared to the Base and Premium is 182 hp vs 152 hp respectively. In my opinion the Crosstrek Hybrid isn't worth the extra cost at this point. You only get about 17 miles of all electric range, its more expensive and I hear it isn't great on the freeway. Your best bet is a Sport or Limited since they have the larger 2.5 under the hood. It will be interesting to see how the new Solterra does next year when it comes out being their first "real" electric vehicle.

Hey Rick. Just recently purchased these crossbars! Extremely easy to install and seem sturdy. I was just curious, even after installing the rubber strips to help mitigate the wind noise, I’m still getting humming and whistling from them at speeds over 40mph. Do you have this issue at all?

Hi Glenn, I noticed a small bit of wind noise at first, but never any whistling or humming? I will double check with my son as he drove the car more often with them installed. How far forward do you have the bars set up? Might help to move them back a little? Also, dumb question, you have them installed facing the correct way? :) Had to ask.

I have only had them on the car for about a week so nothing as of yet. My guess is it will be negligible since I have had crossbars on the car from day one...my bike racks too. The Subaru bars are more aero, but I feel like it shouldn't be a big difference. Thanks so much for watching

Wonderful review! I recently got a 2020 Crosstrek and have been searching for some sturdy crossbars that aren't going to destroy my bank account. These look super promising! Have you done any short traveling with some bigger objects on these crossbars like a few pieces of plywood, or like a mattress by chance? That's the type of stuff I'd be needing occasionally to move, but not sure if this would be suitable for that? Thank you!

Hi Norman, I have not done so with these particular crossbars as of yet, but as long as you stay at 150 pounds or less I think they would work great. With my original crossbars I had quite a few boards up there and they did great.
