we had proms too! The Daikin service could not had started it!! Actually it took them two months to power it on and even now it makes to much noisse! they do not know how to fix it!

EBM Pabst? At least it looks somewhat serviceable which is surprising given a VRV/VRF system. The LG Multi V systems are a nightmare to work with when they mess up.

Yeah, that's it I think. The same motor type I see in the new Trane commercial with direct drive. The motors look heavy duty as hell. But I have had to replace one or two.

Almost all of our equipment at work uses EBM Pabst direct drive fans. Grantes they're not ECM, but they seem like quality pieces.

Seems Daikin is reinventing the Goodman brand, I'll take it. I'm sorta excited to see what they have.

They are not bad EXCEPT when they slap their stickers on a Goodman unit. LOL

I'm very very green in the trade and have done mostly residential with some light commercial package units but I got called to this same unit this week only difference was it had two compressors. Alarm was for low discharge temp in heating. I found the sensor and it read no resistance at all between any of the three points on the little molex plug. I'm used to diagnosing sensors that convert pressure or temperature onto resistance. Was I going about diagnosing this sensor wrong? I was so lost with this new equipment versus the older stuff I'm used to with contactors and all that.
@ryanprice64462 жыл бұрын
And just like another user said I tried looking through manuals which had shit all for useful diagnostics info.

These units have been given me problems Would you know where the discharge air sensor is located and what the ohms are for it?
@hackfreehvac Жыл бұрын
It's been too long however that sensor is near the fan if I recall Probably a 10k ntc type. But I don't remember

Hi. how to adjust evaporator fan speed?
@hackfreehvac Жыл бұрын
I don't recall exactly as I haven't touched one in almost 4 years however it is thru the microprocessor controller.

Forget trying to find helpful and reliable information in Daikin manuals. All the literature has been completely useless, it just states the obvious with no troubleshooting tree. Maybe it's just me but working on Daikin is again and again thee worst hands down

I have to say… Daikin commercial equipment is the best. Don’t start with that Goodman bs Batman lol
@hackfreehvac2 жыл бұрын
You're one of the few that think that. Lol Daikin hasn't got a strong reputation around here. Their VRF (VRV as they insist on calling it) are glitchy. And their standard commercial rtu is a readied POS Goodman. Lol

I could not see the controller clearly, however it almost looked like a Carel controller, did they finally get rid of the MicroTech III ?
@hackfreehvac5 жыл бұрын
It said Micro Tech II or something on it (this is a brand new unit). Maybe these and Carel are made by the same co?
@Kevin124849 ай бұрын
Uses Micro Tech still. Starting to switch to MicroTech IIII now. I help build the control panels
