Two months ago I wrote a comment about not being able to subscribe to the Vault because I am from Russia. A lot of you guys replied with very kind words and it felt really great. This community is amazing! Since then, I flew from Russia as ~100k people (mostly IT specialists) did. I am writing this comment from a small town in Armenian mountains. Me, my wife and my cats are safe from tyranny and I managed to get an Armenian card... and subscribed to MWG again! Thank you guys. FYI, you get a CP on a 2+ with Morathi is dead since it says "If you're general is slain" She counts as a general. Whereas the battle tactic to slay the warlord says "the model chosen to be your general is slain" you only get that if the actual selected general is slain. Real strange but that is how it is ruled at GTs.

I enjoy the battle reports with Skari, he's eternal optimism is infectious. He just always seems to be having fun, no matter who's winning or how the game is swinging.

Love the terrain on table! All those Dragonfate Dais, Ophidian Doorways, and Numinous Occulums are hard to find now. The table itself reminds me of some of the tables they showed in pictures in the original AoS 1.0 books and campaigns. Oh and the game was cool too. ;)

22.3.1 Mounts, Companions and Crew Sometimes the description on a warscroll will say whether the models in the unit have mounts, companions or a crew. When a model attacks, its mount, companions and crew attack too, and when the model is removed from play, its mount, companions and crew are removed too. For rules purposes, companions and crew are treated in the same manner as mounts. COMPANION: This unit’s Pot-grot is armed with a Back-up Stabba. The Pot-grot must remain within 1" of the Swampcalla Shaman. For rules purposes, the Swampcalla Shaman and Pot-grot are treated as a single model.

Of course Matt forgot the scare shields when he charged into the witchs on round 2, but -1 to hit isn't as important as Kruleboyz Waaaaagh. The sludgeraker, the vulcha and the gutrippaz all could have attacked at once and done some real damage.

@@lukethompson4879 - yes I agree I believe the artifact in question is the blood sigil for the slaughter priest which states to pick 1 extra prayer for the bearer from the Prayers of the Khanite Cult (pg 71). I am not sure if this is what the slaughter priest had, but if it is id agree.

Good stuff! Closer than expected in the end, despite the early double turn that swung things hard. My friends and I use a house rule where we don't roll off for priority until the start of BR3. This way both players get a good chance to do some cool stuff. If you go first on BR1 you can't usually do very much, so it really sucks to get double turned coming into BR2.

I thought you cannot dasychain the hobgrots like that at 9:33 every model must be within one inch of another two models if the unit size is more than 5

They are on 25mm base. Which is less than inch so b2b 2nd model is within inch

Wondered if anyone could clarify the kruelboyz spell choking mist for me. It says, "all units within 6 inches of that point are affected by choking mist until the start of your next hero phase." Does this mean that if units move out of that 6" bubble they are no longer affected by choking mist, or does the affect stay active on them until your next hero phase regardless of leaving the bubble? Any source or explanation is appreciated as well. Thank you!

I'd argue they are. It states the effect takes until your next hero face and affect all units that are within 6" (when cast).

The witch elves changed, now they have the +1 to wound if they are wholly within 12 of a TOTEM, not a hero

Not sure when you filmed this battle report, but since it seems as though Skari is using the new battletome rules, then a small mistake was made when The Shadow Queen died. Per the new The Hunt rules dated 5/12/2022, Morathi and the Shadow Queen are no longer prime targets, negating one of Matthew's points. Just a heads up to remember for anything you may be prepping for next week's releases.

They did mention they filmed before it was updated so didn't know. That said, there is a note " If a battletome or battletome update has a more recent publication date than this document, units from that publication may not be designated as either priority targets or prime hunters." Though, as Skari says in the video, they didn't change anything about Morathi really, so removing her from the list is silly. (Assumedly the book was written so long ago that they didn't think adjustments were needed.)

Just a reminder that the medusa has an ability called melusai kin and she gets to pick a single melusai unit in the hero phase wholly within 12 of her. They get +1 to blood rites until your next hero phase. Would work well on the snakes to get that plus 1 to hit shooting quicker

At 23:38 you forgot to add one to your run with the powers from pain table. Also the first first prayer I believe can only be used on the priest invoking it

It doesn't work like that. He used the command that means you don't make a run roll, and instead add 6" to your move characteristics, whereas the powers from pain adds 1 to your run roll. There was no run roll to make, you can only get the +1 if you don't use the auto 6" command sadly.

Have to say: REDEPLOY is the single most op Command ability in the game! It would break the game if its d3+3, melee units would be just garbage!

For 80 points and a 50% chance to instantly kill 3 models with 4 wounds each, it's just meeehh. 🙄 For example, if the Viper attacks a 5 wound model, it could roll 3 dice and on a 5+, make mortals according to the model's wound value, so you could at least make ward rolls against it.

It's good, but against some armies you will get limited utility out of it and some can just shut you down out of ever casting it. When it comes off though like in this game it's really good.

Very nice battle report! One thing though: the pile-in with the witch elves wasn't legal: each model has to pile in the direction of the closest model, which was the hobgrot for most of them. Not as many with elves should have been able to hit the Gutrippaz.

They just have to end the pile in closer to the nearest enemy unit than they were before the pile in. Doesn't have to be directly towards them. So you can pile in sideways with models and end it a little bit closer to the nearest enemy unit and it's still legal.

You can't choose whichone to use. Hasty shot is only if you're whitin 3" of enemies (or if you made a normal move that turn but that won't happen for unleash hell)

You actually will have to use hasty shots if the boltboyz are the target of the charge, unleash hell is resolved once an enemy unit completes its charge move, i.e., within 3" of the bolt boyz, or within 6" of another unit. When supporting another unit, aimed shot is the only option, but when the boltboyz themselves are charged, hasty shots all day.

Everytime I see the CruelBoyz I feel their visual design doesn't fit into Warhammer Fantasy. This doesn't mean I dislike their design but I feel they are more similar to Orcs in the Lord of the Rings tabletop game. They look nothing like the other Orruks models.

It's the same from the last battletome. Also, unless it was buffed in the new one, it is "minimum of 1 dmg", so since most DoK units only have 1 wound, it's limited how effective it is, imo.

The orruk-warclans books isn't even a year old. Both are using 3rd edition battletomes. What's the point of running new releases only against other new releases? It would quickly become repetetive and dull.
