If Jelani was supposed to have a task completed that was required for him to attend his 1 pm class.....and he did not complete that task....the medical department would have relayed that information to Jelani's instructor (of his clinical course) and/or they would have informed that information to Director-Cara. So the director found out that Jelani was not present by "waiting on him" after his class vs. just contacting his instructor to find out if he was present. When Cara found out Jelani was not present (even though she had spoken with him previously and was his last contact) she immediately thought something was wrong and instead of contacting his emergency contact from his personal student records to inquire with whomever was listed assuming his Mother....Cara decided that it was an emergency situation that the Campus authorities be notified. However, the Director felt so alarmed (even though she spoke with him previously and was last contact) that she alerted her friend who possibly was associated with the Bloomington Police Department. Assumingly , Cara thought it was such an emergency that Jelani did not attend one class that she pulled the University cameras, even prior to the mother knowing of her son's absence and obviously to the Campus policy student check of 24 hours. But what is interesting is that Jelani's apartment was not on campus? So why would the campus police check his apartment...would that be the jurisdiction of a Bloomington police and not the campus). Also Carmen didn't even report her son missing yet so why would Cara assume such the rash decision to report a student to authorities especially if she already looked at the footage (even prior to Carmen seeing it) and saw that Jelani was present. If Carmen saw Jelani was present in the video and Cara saw the video first...why would Cara contact authorities to check on Jelani??? She saw he was on campus earlier that day via the cameras she had? Who even goes through the strength to look at camera's because an ADULT never showed up to class let alone contact authorities for a wellness alert..when you said you talked to him the night before "to do you a favor." P.S Ironic that the 2 girls who end up finding Jelani's clothing per the police end up being inaccurate. Maybe they just wanted the reward $...Idk. Did Cara's initial video recording why she reported Jelani come from a 3rd party recording or did someone from the news station record her?
