I also have an adjustable standing desk. I added a swivel stool so I can sit at various non-chair heights too. Great example of cable and power MGMT Alex.

Wow! Incredible, simple setup. Power along the desk is really cool. Things I particularly enjoyed 1. The desk itself 2. The lightbar 3. The chair 4. External storage I will say though, I should stand more when I work. Great video!

I like that desk that goes up and down. Years ago I was a draftsman and I had a desk that I could adjust up and down and I really loved it! I now just have a fixed desk and sometimes I'll sit there for hours and I can get a little sore even with a foam cushion! I'll keep this in mind for the future.

In Brazil there are 2 types of developers: "roots", those are the truly warriors and there are the "nutella", like the cream, soft and they use standup desks and massage chairs, the keep playing Enya on repeat 24x7 and they only eat green and healthy stuff. Nice desk by the way!

I’m in the process of moving from dual monitors to a single one myself. My second one usually just had e-mail, messages, or Teams on it while I did all my work on the other one. Like you said, I can use my MBP and/or iPad as additional monitors when needed for the same things. As a Cybersecurity Architect, I am not coding like yourself since my focus is more on the hardware/network/cloud aspect of the field, but my desk needs are very similar to yours. Great content!

I need to get a new setup done. I use to love the Bose QCII headset but I eventually had problems with audio off with the content I would be watching. I did everything I could plus help with their support but nothing worked. I use Astro A50s with windows and Airpods mac with all apple products. I would like to move away form the A50s though since their little adapter for the PS5 doesn't support 120hz so I lose that feature while gaming. I don't think I'll like having two monitors where my macbook is the 2nd. Would rather have a wider screen and keeping the macbook closed but not 100% sure. I might wait until I retire early next year before doing to prevent possible damage by the moving company.

Sick. I have something similar. I prefer typing directly on the MacBook. I have a trackpad directly in front of me, mouse on the right, small screen of the MacBook under the main monitor (which I prefer) and then 27-incher 4k 144hz screen in front of me :-). I also just recently bought a height-adjustable table and a walking pad s1, just to get more moving while working and to lose weight. It's actually really good and way less intrusive in my work sessions than I originally thought. With noise-canceling headphones, I don't hear the motor of the pad anyways and my hand on the keyboard works as a kind of an anchor. I would recommend it to you if you ever decide to get some calories burning. I also plan to expand this setup with another height-adjustable table that I want to place behind my "front" one, with a meter gap, and place my 4k 55 inch TV on it with PS5 :D Then after work I can game on it on PC/PS5 without moving my walking pad or chair xD

you should have gotten the 8tb option and just back up all your stuff in one go, now you have to keep track of where stuff is on all those drives. It won’t be minimal in terms of time spent, huh? Minimal takes too much effort. Your cluttered workspace will let you get more done.

Finding a sturdy desk is difficult these days and with your entire weight on the desk it looks very robust. We have the same kind of chair at work and they are really expensive, something like over $1k/chair. Great place for the Volterra to rip through compiling c++ source code projects under native ARM64 Visual Studio!

Hey, Alex! Thanks for showing your setup. It’s awesome! I was wondering… what do you think about wireless charging? I read a lot of things about the heat being harmful for the phone (maybe shortening the lifespan). Do you have any thoughts on that?

Why does anyone need a standing desk? Just take a break and go get a drink or actually go outside. And why does the video camera cost as much as your monitor? Something is not right there. So what does minimal mean again? Is all this stuff really minimal?
