New Developer - what is it like?

Finding a developer that works on dull, overcast days.

Welcome to the 510 Pyro union. Dunno where you got your glasses from, but them photos looked reet to me, mara. The Pentacon 50mm 1.8 isn't the sharpest lens to be fair.

Cheers Jim. It is always easy for one to be hypercritical of one's own work I suppose, but I suppose the results are very acceptable. I like the Pentacon lens especially in the "middle apertures" where most of my work rests. I really love this developer and I'm sure I will learn how best to deal with its clagginess! Cheers, Keith

Nice and contrasty , I would say great results.. Got some pyro Last year yet to try it .. Look better results than my trusty ID 11...

Thanks Mark. I found it took a little extra care when mixing the dilution, especially as it only needs 3cl to make enough to dev one film. I'm sure it will be easier next time. Cheers, Keith

I make up 501-Pyro from the Chemicals. By The Way -- I had my SOUND turned up to MAXIMUM but could not hear you well -- please speak LOUDER !

Interesting stuff, Keith, bordering on witchcraft, a developer that gives you a higher dynamic range and fills in the grain! Sounds perfect for the winter weather up North, we may not see the sun again until April. 😊 I do like that shot of the harbour that you opened with.

Thanks Andrew. I had heard all sorts of wild claims about this developer, but wasn't sure. A developer that makes a dull day look dull but nice? Definitely witchcraft! I like that photo too, where the ripples on the water are repeated in the sky. Cheers, Keith.

Hi Keith! I am going to develop Fomapan 200 in Ilfotec LC29, could you tell me how did you develop this film in Ilfotec LC29? Thank You!

Hi Andrew. I used 1 + 19 dilution and developed at 20 degrees for 6 and a half minutes. Fomacitro Stop bath for 30 seconds and then Ilford Rapid Fix for 5 minutes. Rinsed for 5 minutes in running water with a final minute in Photo Flo solution. I hope it all goes well. Cheers keith
