You are exactly right. Balldo washers buying into Nick's rationalizations are putting him at risk by reinforcing his denials. You have a unique hard earned perspective. The odds are stacked against both Nick and his wife recovering. They need real help, not blind support.

@@CGoody5642 You have no idea how this works with a couple of addicted parents. There's way too much independent corroboration of the neglect, aside from the MN law that says they were neglected per se. In any case you are part of the problem along with all the other balldo washers. You're like a guy at an intervention jumping in and proclaiming you believe the lies of the addict. Nick is very clearly an addict and very clearly in deep denial and lying about it. This makes him very unlikely to recover.

@@JadenEthansmom I support his recovery, not his actions, not his addiction, and not his ridiculous lies that only a naive balldo washer could believe. The balance is drawn between support for recovery and repudiation of his past conduct and any dishonesty surrounding it. You don't seem to get the seriousness of this. He's not going to recover your way, and this will kill him. I've seen this happen. I don't want to read that they found Nick or his wife dead in a toilet somewhere.

This was a crucial stage of life for those five children and the experience will haunt them for the rest of their life. Everyone knows that your childhood experiences have a huge influence on your development as an adult. I think this body cam footage will change the tone of this because the kids are there and they don’t deserve all of this, it’s heartbreaking. I hope Nick gets a grip but I know through life experience you can put yourself in a grave trying to help an addict especially if you care about that person. It physically, emotionally and mentally sucks the life out of the people around them who are trying to help them get well and see them at their best selves again. It’s like you’re dealing with someone you’ve known and loved your whole life and they become someone you don’t know anymore. A total stranger. Don't worry, he won't be in jail forever. Being a first time offender in Minnesota is very lucky for him - Minn is extremely extremely lenient to first timers. Even murderers get their charges cut in half if they're first time non hardened criminals. The charges regarding his children will be the biggest hurdle (getting them back with no monitoring or restrictions), most of the rest will get set aside as long as he does treatment etc etc... If he laughs it off and goes for round two though, goodbye.

I was so close to death my family was making a plan on what to do when it happened... Validation and enabling nearly killed me. Fortunately i had family like you who knew helping me to continue on my path wasn't working and was only going to end bad. Edit: just drinking would result in weight loss too, except it would have been much slower. Alcohol has a surprisingly large amount of calories and sugar in it. It's going to be hard for him to see it, but sometimes these things save your life when you're living on the edge like this...if you are using an Oz of blow for the personal...YOU ARE AN ADDICT... Don't make me laugh. Nick's best thinking brought him to where he is at like every other addict. He has lied to himself and others. If he wants to get better, he will need to find the willingness tp get honest and to ask for help, go to treatment, get a sponsor, go to meetings and work the steps. They are cutting coke with fentanyl these days. The more he uses, the more he risks overdosing. The sad truth is until he wants to quit, it won't happen. He has to be sick and tired of the way he has been living before he will want to change.

Some people require a wake up call like this to recover. It took my brother 5 DUI's to quit drinking. At times like this, we think this is terrible but this can be his start to recovery. If this raid had never happened, how far could of he went down before asking for help? He could of ended up dead or ruining the live of the people around him. This can be a blessing if he takes the opportunity to change.

I seen him on the social going through some serious things that I wish I could have offered him some support for his recovery and boundaries for rebuilding his relationships with everyone and what to expect... God bless appreciate sharing this story we will see each other again soon...

I've seen what it does.. My brother nearly died and went to prison for his addiction. He's been clean almost 10 years and has a great job and a family now. My brother in law wasn't so lucky and died 5 years ago in August. My husband was the one who found him and it destroyed him. Our family had never been the same since. Anyone who defends what nick did and likely still doing... they've never felt the devastation of losing someone to drugs.

11:15 alcohol does not reduce weight even spirit is calorie heavy. It was apparent Nick changed when he dropped the likes of the Friday stream, it was popular stream of "boys being boys" in the most harmless way. like a clatch of 12 years olds going on 30+ somethings, so it is impossible for Camelot or Drexel or anyone else involved to be a "BAD INFLUENCE", it was the same with other content creators that Nick hung out with, like Megan Fox and Joe Nierman who were also distanced by Nick, even the format of the program changed. Anyhow "Camelot" has nothing to admonish himself over, he has been a good friend and I'm sure if his nature on screen is reflective he will stand by his friend, but the thing is you can stand by a friend but you cannot either validate their behaviour if it is toxic and self destructive and neither can you force them into doing what they need to do against their will.

But I really think someone should suggest considering going above and beyond for his kids and lay of the drink. I'd like to think that if Emily Artful (an art youtuber who had an issue with drugs such as cocaine and Heroin in the past) can pull herself out of being an addict, then so can Nick. There may be some context missing in Emily's situation as it involved a stalker (Creepshowart), but her story is still worth listening to from her perspective as she does go over her issues with addiction. I'd suggest people give her stuff on the matter a watch.

Jesus. I feel so bad for you, as someone who watched his own brother die from this stuff. You probably understand what’s going down far better than most. And it’s obvious that blame has been assigned to anyone and everyone EXCEPT the person, your friend, who is literally going to have to fight for his life, and the lives of his kids. But the thing that just keeps sticking with me is the fact that the man’s own children were going hungry, they were going filthy, and they were suffering terribly at the hands of the people they were dependent on for their very survival. The fact that all the kids are still alive is a freaking miracle. They could have ingested drugs, or they could have been shot. And the hell of it all is that, from this very moment, if Nick does every stinking thing right from this point on (not likely), those kids will still be traumatized for life. Those five little lives are on the heads of those parents. Forever. And no matter what, those five little lives will never be the same. I’m so sorry for the loss of your brother. I’m so grateful for the survival and turnaround of your sister. And as one of Nick’s friends, I’m so sad that it all came to this, for there wasn’t anything you could have done to prevent this. I know you love racing, but this is a vulnerable time for you, also. Please be careful out there. I’ve only been your subscriber for a couple of weeks, but I have truly enjoyed your shows (present subject excepted). Stay safe.🌻

Bad influence my ass. Cody you're young, single, and having fun. Not once, NOT ONCE did it ever enter my mind that you were In Any Way a contributing factor in Nick's situation. That is 100% on him. Anyone who's ever dealt with addicts know that IF YOU REALLY LOVE THEM you take a zero bullshit, zero tolerance stand. I had to do this with my own husband. The love of my life. You have to draw a line in the sand and say this is as far as I go. Any farther and you're on your own. If you decide to come back within my boundaries I'm here. Unfortunetly my husband lost his battle. I'm praying for Nick to wake up, but I have zero quartering for him. If he gets clean, awesome! I'll be back to watch his shows. If not, I'm done.

When I saw Nick was arrested and found a screen shot from one of his streams I was in shock. I've watched him for years, didn't agree with everything but he definitely taught me alot about the law, family and life in general. Talked about how much he loved his wife and family. Just shows how powerful addiction can be. I'm not excusing anything. It's awful. I hope they both get the help they need. You're a good friend for calling it like it is. You may not be the friend he wants right now but you're the friend he needs

Unfortunately, it’s so common for a loved one of an addict to try to blame others. They don’t want to believe they’d do something awful. Blaming doesn’t help anyone, it just enables. It’s not a “bad influence’s” fault, it’s not a grand conspiracy orchestrated by the church or police department… he made his own choices, just as any other addict does

The only way Nick can turn his life around is if he chooses to. He chose to go down the path of drugs. Now he has an addiction to them. He bonded out of jail so he very well could be doing drugs right now to deal with the stress of the situation. He left his guns lying around with his kids around which is dumb as Hell so Nick clearly wasn't making good decisions already and I don't expect him to magically start making good decisions now. It's sad but that's the unfortunate reality. The only way people generally turn their life around in these situations are when they're handed real world consequences from their actions such as prison time. Rehab can only work if you want it to so I don't consider that a solution to this situation unless Nick realizes he has a problem and wants to address it.

I really enjoyed Nicks show a few years back when he covered the Johnny Depp trial and the Rittenhouse trial. I kinda stopped watching shortly after that. I’m hearing about this and I honestly have no issue with the possession of drugs. I don’t use drugs but I used to and I think it is everyone’s right to make those decisions for yourself. However when you aren’t taking care of the priorities, like your health and most importantly your kids then that’s another story. Hope he gets better.

I never liked your streams with Nick, but seeing you now, I am enjoying your real friendship come thru and your honesty. I have family with addiction issues, and I excused it as a viewer, mostly because I also am married to a narcoleptic. Nick was not managing this disease at all, narcolepsy messes with your brain synopsis. Made my hubby so unpleasant to be around. Once under a doctor's care and a routine is set, I got my husband back. But that routine included a normal sleep/wake cycle using Xyrem. No more than 1 alcoholic drink a day. And not eating after 8PM. Adderall or similar during day to stay awake. But not taking care of his narcolepsy plus acohol consumption made me give him benefit of doubt until police warrant.
