New DH Trails at Farside Bike Park! Built by Pathfinder Trails

Bike Park season is just about here in the midwest and I couldn't be more stoked about it! The trail building season started in late March for us though at Chestnut Mountain Resort building phase 2 on the Farside Bike Park. We at Pathfinder Trail Building built phase one last spring with two gravity trails and a fun skills zone. This year we added 4 and half more gravity trails which gives the bike park a nice array of trails that'll give riders a full days worth of riding.
Chestnut Mtn Resort is located near Galena Illinois and is about a 5 hour drive from the twin cities. They have a hotel and restaurant there with other summer activities as well. Galena is a fun tourist town with a historic downtown with hotels and a campground. There's also Blanding Landing campground right down the road from Chestnut so there's plenty of places to stay.
This is a lift access bike park and they plan to open for the season Memorial Day weekend. I said Labor Day in the intro without realizing it (my mistake). I really suggest ya'll get over there and check it out! Truly some fun trails in a cool place overlooking the Mississippi River.

Went here yesterday with my son and we will definitely be back. Pretty sure I had more fun on my bike than I had snowboarding at chestnut. Enjoyed the video, good stuff 👍

Seems like that area really deserved the bike park treatment, and damn it evolved and expanded quickly. I think people are gonna love this when they discover how well your jumplines flow. All new trails may require some fine tuning but From what I’ve seen the Pathfinder crew has that shit down to a science 👨‍🔬

Driftless region has some really cool terrain, the river bluffs make for great trails! Wanted to ride here last fall but that obviously didn’t happen, still on the ride list and now with more trails!

Yeah for sure. I’d say it’s actually worth the trip now. Not that the trails weren’t fun last year but there was really only two DH trails. Now it’s a full day of riding

Hear ya there buddy. Expert stuff will be getting built in phase 3 next spring. But the jumpline we built last year has some pretty good sized jumps on it and it could be argued that it should be rated a black trail.
