Some guys might not like you sharing the information Adam but I sure do not mind. I've been grinding stumps in high school 1992 -96 And we can still all learn new tricks.

Thanks Adam for the suggestion for the diamond wheel listed on Amazon. I bought it under your link and was $19 total for 1 wheel. Touched up my yellow jacket teeth on my 252. Touched them easily since it is 40-50 grit.. Highly recommend the wheel for the price. Thanks again.

I have a wheel I got direct from NR, and another coarser one from Amazon. I haven’t touched the coarse one to carbide yet, I may give it another shot with the coarse one. It would take me (2) 6 ah batteries to bring 12 lead teeth back from the dead, and seemed really slow. That looks way more aggressive. The other thing I noticed when I sharpened was that my edge didn’t last as long. I assumed I was putting micro-cracks in the edge of the carbide while grinding. Curious if the sharpened teeth from the coarse wheel will be even worse? Might end up roughing with the coarse wheel and finishing with the fine grit like you did on the greentooth.

I will also add your teeth seem to touch up better than the carbide on the retipped ones .... ahhhhh the science of metal and carbide

I just used the one Adam suggested from Amazon on yellow jackets on the machine (252) and it did not take more than 20 seconds per tooth to touch them up. Very good purchase for $19

Great information especially for someone new as I am. I would like your opinion on a machine I was looking to buy it's a 2wd 27hp bandit 2250 not the r model it's used with I think 117 hours on it and the guy wants 15500$ for it is that worth it?

Glad I asked because I was thinking it seemed like a good deal compared to what those typically go for.

Great info as usual but are we saying that the brand new, more aggressive disk is cutting way better than a 2 year old unit? Call me crazy but that sounds exactly like it should Adam. 🙂

You are correct the new cheaper one is 50 to 60 grit and I even found them on Temu for around $15 bucks , they are used to cut granite tops but if you buy USA it's $100 and trust me they are not made in the USA because if I wanted I could have them branded with my name ...as I learn I just pass it on to you for free LOL

@@mustangrebuilder I completely understand. It takes a special kind of jerk that lived in the same country as you and I and has been enjoying the low cost our I.e buying foreign made products list lie the rest of us. Then they feel like they need to make some kind of patriotic stand after the subject is raised someplace such as here. I’d probably do the sane as you but having my own grinding disk like would be pretty damn cool. 😎
