Nah. I have the mixstream pro go since new . Coming up a year now. Its pretty solid . The Speakers are good for home practicing and enjoying music at home . I have pushed the speakers all the way up and gain all the way up in the red and its all good . For club use the speakers are useless. I have used it out for alot of gigs where i was traveling light . And it also works with serato as well

The alphatheta does not have the low latency wireless Protocol built in, you have to use their transmitter that is only delivered with the speakers. But you could do that with any other controller...

Great review Rick! The omnis is just an overpriced Denon Prime Go (probably $500/$600 overpriced). $1,500 for gimmick/toyish controller is crazy. Why buy this when you can get a b-stock rev 7 for the same price.

Here's the deal, sure, inflation my be causing some increases however, transportation cost are steady, down from years past and you know manufacturing cost are probably the same as this is manufactured overseas. Quality may be the same but AlphaTheta is banking on people purchasing this based on their name and AlphaTheta being the "flagship" brand moving forward. You are spot on regarding the price, seems really high for what you are getting.

I think you are right about Alpha Theta having to pay royalties on the brand. I think when Pioneer split with Pioneer TV, car stereos, etc. They changed their name to Pioneer DJ and Pioneer car stereos existed on their own. So now the future will be Alpha Theta and everyone's Pioneer DJ product will be soon like having a Vestax or Soundcraftsman MTX. Farewell Pioneer DJ

I use a Denon SC live and couldn't be happier. Even the tacky built in speakers are useful for my daily practice. The price of this thing is insane. Is missing buttons, access, streaming options (at least for now) and SoundSwitch control which I live from my Denon. Streaming over Bluetooth and playing KZbin videos? Very impressive but I don't see myself doing that as a professional DJ ever! I'll plug in everything and be relaxed trying to give my best while performing and not worrying about batteries or Bluetooth signal. Just my opinion

Alpha Theta owns Pioneer so no royalties would have to be paid if they kept the Pioneer logo.

I would have to dig through the by out contract but normally in a brand buy out there are royalties paid out to the previous owner on all brand sales for a period. Most buy outs on the backend are not just a fat check wrote and done. Normally there are terms for the buyout over time

Just spent the last 2 days at NAMM and the OMNIS its really good! They basically took the OPUS and shrunk it!!! Also you can power and charge it from a cell phone battery back.

I’m sorry, but how can you do a product “review” without having the product in hand? Also, I highly doubt that Allha Theta pays “royalties” because they own Pioneer. 😂 Lastly, I’ve actually owned the Denon prime go, Numark mix pro go, Pioneer RR, RX3 and now this Omnis duo. The Omnis Duo is in a nice middle point of being smaller than the Numark, with larger jogwheels than the Denon while retaining the rekordbox capabilities of the RX3/RR/CDJs. The Omnis Duo is pretty expensive, but it’s also extremely versatile … the Bluetooth input steaming is great for song requests and Serato integration will make it great for Stems.

This controller is for those rich hippies that are going to every festival. You wonder how they have the time, and money to go? Pioneer show them in their promo video for this controller. These DJs are not booking gigs for money. They probably have a trust fund or still live at home. They like to throw parties/mini raves outside of festivals, at the beach, and the mountains. They also love showing off Pioneer gear in their photos. You know who I’m talking about because you see CDJ’s or their DJX controller taking up 50% of every photo they take of themselves. That demographic will never buy any other brand. Pioneer knows this, and that’s why they kept the price is just under a DJX controller.

I guess I am responding because, yea, I do come off the wrong way sometimes but a lot of it is that I am quite autistic and my responses often totally come off as robot speak, which could be considered condescending. As far as this comment, I was angry at Rick telling falsehoods about my friends. That said I also thanked him in his video for the apology. As far as opinions on Omnis, that is 100% his right and it didn't bother me in the slightest, but my response didn't give that impression. Like anything else on the market, anyone should ask their self if it fits their needs. I can see this being a good fit for ceremony, cocktail hour, an after party, rooftop bar, basement lounge etc. The only fair comparison would be the Prime GO or any other stand alone (no laptop needed) / rechargeable controller. Your price rant was a lil funny because I think we all have complained about couples doing that to us as DJ's instead of looking at our value or what they need for their day.
